Harley ‘Ray’ McGuire
Kermit - Harley “Ray” McGuire, 65, of Wink, a contract pumper, died Monday, Feb. 27, 2006, in Odessa.
Services will be held at a later date with Family Services Funeral Parlor of Kermit.
He was born in Lamesa.

She was born in Leonard. She was a member of A Street Church of Christ.

John Varga
Odessa - John Varga, 84, of Odessa, died Monday, Nov. 28, 2005, at his residence.

He was born in Odessa. He was a Navy veteran.

L.D. Crone
Odessa On February 22nd, 2006, at the age of 90, L. D. Crone went to be with the Lord.
Mr. Crone was born January 15th, 1916 in Spearman, Texas to Hattie and Henry Crone.
L. D. was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Edith Smithee and her husband J. D. Smithee of Lefors, Texas; two brothers, Frank Crone of Amarillo, Texas and Gordon Crone of Lakin, Kansas.
L. D. served his country in the Army Air Corp, and was a veteran of WWII.
L. D. was employed 23years as the Chief Engineer and Building Manager of the Hilton Hotel in Lubbock, Texas; 4 years at the Petroleum Building in Odessa and retired after 16 years, from Hobbs Houses Inc., located in Hobbs, New Mexico.
Mr. Crone was a member of Temple Baptist Church in Odessa for 36 years.
He was a poet at heart, having some of his work published by The International Library of Poetry in an anthology entitled ‘Blessings In Time’. An avid songwriter, L. D. loved to compose, sing and play his own music. Mr. Crone was a man of convictions; in a league of his own. Too few like him ever walk on Earth. Sensitive, perceptive, very family oriented; he will be missed greatly. He left this world a bit better. L. D. was a loving and devoted Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Great-Grandfather. We are honored that he was sent from Heaven to be ours.
Residing in Odessa since 1959, Mr. Crone is survived by his wife of 70 years, Hazel L. Crone; two daughters, Linda D. Bolden and Diana L. Allen; three grandchildren, Larry D. Bolden, Chloe A. Allen, and Dr. M. Edward Allen all of Odessa, Texas; one great-grandchild, Krysten N. Bolden of Carrollton, Texas; one brother, Wesley Crone and wife Helen of Tulsa, Oklahoma; one sister-in-law, Juanita Crone of Lakin, Kansas; 8 nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, February 27th, 2006 in the Chapel at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.
Committal services will follow immediately with full military honors presented by the local VFW Post # 4372 at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Arrangements are under the direction of Sunset Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home.
