Rosa Lou Edwards (Reed)
July 7, 1920 – March 8, 2006
Waco - Rosa Lou Edwards (Reed), 85, of Waco, passed away Wednesday, March 8, 2006 at a local nursing facility. A memorial service will be at 10:00 am Saturday, March 11 at Seventh and James Baptist Church in Waco with Dr. Raymond Bailey officiating. A graveside service will be at 5:00 pm at Snyder cemetery in Snyder, Texas. Visitation will be from 5 to 8:00 pm Friday, March 10 at 10004 Forest View in Woodway.
Mrs. Edwards was born July 7, 1920 in Emory, Texas to Issac and Mary Prather. She moved to Snyder, Texas in 1924 and attended schools there. She married
L.B. Edwards in 1938. He was a Baptist minister pastoring churches in west Texas, New Mexico and southern California. She served faithfully as a pastor’s wife in his various pastorates. Mrs. Edwards also worked selling cosmetics at Dunlap’s in Odessa, Texas. Reverend and Mrs. Edwards were members of First Baptist Church in Odessa after he retired. Her husband preceded her in death in 1987.
In 1999, Mrs. Edwards moved to Waco to live at a retirement residence near her son for health reasons. She met C. L. Reed and they were married
in March, 2001. Mr. Reed died the following August. Mrs. Edwards was a devoted member of Seventh and James Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her two husbands; three brothers, William, A.P. and Raymond Prather; one sister, Bertha Davis and one daughter, Patsy Lynn.
Survivors include one son, Doyce Edwards of Woodway; one daughter, Sherry Stewart of Greenwood, SC; stepson, Rev. Bill Reed and wife, Marlene of Leeds, Alabama and stepdaughter, Gloria Gately and husband, Steven of San Antonio; four grandchildren, Phillip Edwards and fiancée, Kristin Richards, Natalie Young and husband, Steven, Scott Edwards and John Giles. She is also survived by two sisters, Leona Davis of Las Cruces, NM and Callie Floyd of Sweetwater, TX; one brother, Bob Prather of Midland, TX and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Seventh and James Baptist Church or Compassion Ministries of Waco.
The family would like to thank Dr. James Copeland and the staff of Waco Internal Medicine, the staff of Lake Shore Village Health Care Center, Mary Jo Martin and especially the family of Seventh and James Baptist Church.

Peggy Reed Powell
Odessa - Peggy Reed Powell, 57, passed away March 9th, 2006 at Hospice House in Odessa, Texas.
Peggy was born September 3rd, 1948 to Wallace M. Reed and Melba L. Turner Reed in Odessa, Texas where she was born and raised. She graduated from Odessa High School in 1967 and from the University of North Texas in 1971. Peggy married
Chris H. Powell July 4th, 1991 and in addition to raising her family she worked for Dr. Ronald J. Carr in Odessa from 1991 to 2000 and later moved to Longview, Texas and became a business owner working as an Antique Dealer.
Peggy is survived by her husband Chris H. Powell of Odessa, Texas; her mother, Melba L. Reed of Odessa; two brothers, Guy W. Reed and wife Rhonda and Jon Reed and wife Maggie all of Odessa, Texas; two sons, Mac A. Soules and wife Robyn of Longview, Texas and Jay R. Soules and Andi of Allen, Texas; a stepson, Daniel F. Powell and wife Dallas of Odessa, Texas; four grandchildren, Luke Soules and Grace Soules of Longview, Texas, and Alyssa Powell and Ashlynn Powell of Odessa, Texas, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Peggy is preceded in death by her father; Wallace M. Reed, who passed on December 3rd, 2005.
A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 11th, 2006 in the Chapel at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. The eulogy will be presented by Reverend Jimmy Braswell.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials may be directed to Home Hospice of Odessa, Texas (516 N. Texas, 79761).

PECOS - Luz Carrasco, 92, of Pecos, a homemaker, died Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2005, at Reeves County Hospital.
Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. today at Santa Rosa De Lima Catholic Church. Burial will be at Greenwood cemetery. Arrangements are by Peaceful Garden Funeral Home of Pecos.
She was born in Presidio and was a lifetime resident of Pecos. She was Catholic.
SURVIVORS Son, Ruben Carrasco of Pecos; daughters, Olga Castillo Levya of Pecos and Elva Mendoza of Odessa; 15 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

KERMIT - Wilma Terry Finley, 86, of Kermit, died Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2005, in Kermit.
Memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church in Kermit with Mother Leslie Gregory officiating. Arrangements are by Family Services Funeral Parlor of Kermit.
She was born in Lockhart.
SURVIVORS Daughter, Mary Kay Cubine of Kermit; brother, Ralph Terry of Bryan; and two grandchildren.

ODESSA - Joe Angel Jacques, 61, of Midland, a welder, died Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2005, at his residence.
Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today at Odessa Funeral Home Chapel. Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Joseph Uecker officiating. Burial will be at Rose Hill cemetery. Arrangements are by Odessa Funeral Home Chapel.
He was born in Odessa and was a Christian Catholic.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. today at the Denver City Memorial cemetery with the Rev. Ronnie Lundsford officiating. Arrangements are by Boyer Funeral Chapel of Denver City.
He was born in Red Mud and was a Marine Corp veteran.
