Louise Norcross Wheat
Kermit - Louise Norcross Wheat passed away on Thursday, June 1 at 3:00 PM in Wichita Falls, Texas. She was born on November 14, 1917 in Ozona, Texas. She was the third child of Oscar Norcross and Thalia Brown, a rancher in that area. She graduated from Our Lady, Queen of Peace High School in Dallas and then attended Odessa College obtaining a degree in cost accounting. Louise married Alden Rogers, a prominent businessman in Odessa. They had one child, Scooter, who passed away at an early age.
On June 15 of 1956, she married James Jackson Wheat, a rancher in Mentone, Texas. They had one daughter, Joy and later adopted a son, Stoney. They resided in Pecos prior to moving to Kermit. Louise was an active member of the First Christian Church and both country clubs. Golf, bridge, and traveling with Jim kept her fully occupied. She was a member of the Texas Art Alliance. Following Jim’s death in 1989, she moved to their home in Alto, New Mexico where she continued her activities. Her mother, Thalia Brown; father, Oscar Norcross; husband, Jim Wheat; daughter, Joy Wheat Williams; son, Stoney Wheat; and brothers, Tom Norcross and Lendsea Norcross preceded her in death. Her two grandsons, James Jackson Wheat Williams and Thomas Robert Williams of Wichita Falls, Texas survive her. Her sister Jana Vee Cintron resides in California. Aline DeNoyer, her youngest sister, lives in Oregon. She will be missed by her many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, as well as her immediate family and friends.
Memorial services in honor of Louise’s memory will be held 2:00 pm Monday, June 12, 2006 at Family Services Funeral Chapel in Kermit, Texas. The family suggests memorials be made to either the Alzheimer’s Foundation or the First Christian Church of Ruidoso, New Mexico.

Adan Garcia
Odessa - Adan Garcia, 81 years, died Saturday June 3,2006 at his residence in Odessa. Adan was born April 25,1925 to father Luciano Garcia and mother Tecla Carrasco who both preceded him in death. Prayer service will be held Friday June 9,2006 at 7.30 P.M. at Martinez Smith Funeral Chapels & Crematory. Services will be held Saturday June 10,2006 at 1P.M. at Martinez Smith Funeral Chapels & Crematory with Pastor Roberto Sabas officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill cemetery. He is preceded in death by his sister Benita Chacon. Survivors: Wife, Rosa R. Garcia of Odessa. Daughter, Amy Garza of Odessa. Sisters, Eva G. Gonzalez of Presidio, Delfina Macias and Guadalupe Molina both of Odessa. Brothers, Ezequiel Garcia and Alvaro Garcia both of Odessa, Manuel Garcia of Hobbs, N.M., Luciano Garcia of Crane Fedrico Garcia of Visalia,Calif. and Bibiano Garcia of Presidio. 2 granddaughters Monica Garza and Anita Garza both of Odessa.

Roy E. Anderson
MIDLAND - Roy E. Anderson, 70, passed away June 7, 2006, at Midland Memorial Hospital surrounded by his family.
He was born January 21, 1936 in Trenton, Texas to John Wesley and Ora Alice. He graduated from Trenton High School and married his high school sweetheart Shirley Lavern Skinner in 1954. They moved to Midland, Texas in 1957 where he soon became a tile contractor and later a successful business owner. He was known as a hardworking, honest businessman, avid hunter and fisherman, and loving husband, father, and Paw Paw.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Anderson, of Midland; two sons, Phil Anderson and wife Nettie of Midland, Paul Anderson and wife Lynn of Midland; three daughters, Kim Alexander and husband Charles of San Angelo, twins, Karen and Carol Anderson; two brothers, Don Anderson of Campbell, and James Anderson of Dawson; two sisters, Beth Anderson of Mesquite, and Polly Wolfe of Layton, OK, numerous nieces and nephews, 4 grand children, and 9 great grandchildren.
Mr. Anderson was preceded in death by his brother John and sister Bessie.
The family will receive visitors Friday, June 9, 2006, between the hours of 6 and 8 p.m. at Ellis Funeral Home.
Services will be 11 am Saturday, June 10, 2006, at St. Paul United Methodist Church, 4501 Thomason Drive, with Joe Dan Kendrick officiating.
Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Jeffery Anderson, Cliff Rickman, Donnie Cannon, Matt Malone, Trey Cannon, and Darren Farrell.

Josephine Castelo Grado
ODESSA - Josephine Castelo Grado, 76, of Odessa, passed away Wednesday June 7,2006 at Home Hospice.
She was born March 29, 1930 in Fort Stockton, Texas to Antonio Castelo and Maria Flores. She was a Christian Catholic and a Homemaker.
She is survived by her Husband: Victor Grado of Odessa, TX, Son: Alex Bitolas of Plains, TX, Rudy Grado, Orlando Grado, Fernando Grado, Manuel Grado all of Odessa, TX, Daughters: Rosa Heredia of Odessa, TX, Eva Lopez, Libby Grado both of Midland, TX, brothers;Juan Castelo of Las Cruses N.M., Henry Castelo, Mike Castelo both of Fort Stockton, TX, Sisters: Lupe Urias, Rita Garza both of Corpus Christi, TX, Lila Maria Acosta of Fort Stockton, TX, Leecha Esparza of Monahans, TX, 24 Grandchildren, and 16 Great-Grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Anthony Navarrete, Tomas Navarrete, Nicky Hernandez, David Bitolas, Paul Chavez, Steven Bitolas, Damian Lopez, Tony Lopez, and Adrian Grado. A Rosary was recited Thursday at Odessa Funeral Home Chapel.
Mass will be celebrated at 10 am Friday, June 9, 2006, at St Joseph’s Catholic Church with Reverend: Joseph Uecker Officiating. Interment to follow at Rosehill cemetery.

Leroy McClendon, Jr.
ODESSA - LeRoy McClendon, Jr., 77, of Odessa passed away Saturday, May 3, 2006, at the Hospice House. He was born November 9, 1928 in Wichita Falls to LeRoy and Eula Lillian McClendon.
LeRoy received his B.S. degree from Stephen F. Austin in 1950 and his master’s degree in 1954. He was employed by the Ector County Independent School District for 34 years as a teacher at Crockett Jr. High. He was a member of Vine Baptist Church.
He is survived by his cousins, Carol Dale McClendon of Valley Center, CA, Jim Shinholfer of Apopka, FL, and Scott McClendon of La Jolla, CA.
Funeral services will be held 10a.m. Saturday, June 10, 2006, at Vine Baptist Church with Rev. Emmett Barnard officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Rhonda Rebecca Graham
ODESSA - Rhonda Rebecca Graham, age 51, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, June 6, 2006 at Hospice House of Odessa.
She was born July 3, 1954 in Odessa to Loy Hugh and Pauline “Polly” (Murray) Mead.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a nephew, Jason Kelly Hill. Rhonda married Steve Graham on December 20, 1970 in Whitharral, Texas. She attended Odessa High School and worked at Medical Center Hospital (2 West) and for Dr. Cepero for many years.
She is survived by Stephen Graham, her loving husband of 35 years, daughters, Stephanie Graham and April Wheeler and husband, Jim, one granddaughter, Jordyn Rebecca Graham all of Odessa, sisters Suzanne Smith and husband Charlie of Odesssa, Johnnie Reed and husband, Dean of Gardendale and Jimmie Benton of Clyde, Texas, brothers, Audie Mead and wife, Evelyn and Rocky Mead all of Odessa and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Rhonda loved taking care of her family, working in her yard, cooking and baking. But what she loved probably more than these was being a grandmother to Jordyn, her “Angel.” Jordyn will miss her MeMe. We will miss our Rhonda. We will mourn her passing, celebrate her life and cherish her memories until we meet again.
Visitation will begin at 8 a.m. Friday, June 9, 2006, at Acres West Funeral Chapel. Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday, June 12, 2006, at West Odessa First Baptist Church with Doctor Jimmy Braswell officiating assisted by Pastor Johnny Graham.
Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel of Odessa.
Pallbearers will be Jim Wheeler, Chris Reed, Dean Reed, Charlie Smith, Chad Mead and Joey White.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Hospice House, 903 North Sam Houston Ave., Odessa, Texas 79761.
Our families would like to express deepest appreciation to the staff of Hospice House of Odessa.
I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing. 2 Timothy 4:7-8.

Chantz Matthew Dickinson-Contreras
Pecos - Chantz Matthew Dickinson-Contreras, 10 years old, left this life to begin his eternal life with his beloved Lord on Saturday, June 3, 2006. Chantz was a joy and inspiration to everyone he met. He was a friend to everyone and a champion of the underdog. He never met a stranger. His loves were baseball, tennis, bionicles, Star Wars and the Army. He wanted to be a soldier and a preacher when he grew up, but never realized he was a preacher every day by the way he lived his life. We have truly lost an Angel.
He is survived by his parents, Jonnathon & Lisa Contreras of Pecos, brother, Ethan Contreras of Pecos and sister, Emily Contreras of Pecos. Also his cherished grandparents, Boma & Bompa, Barbara & John Dickinson of Albuquerque, NM, Noni & Papa, Gloria & Alex Contreras of Lamesa, aunt & uncles, Laura & Vince Kohr of Albuquerque, Johnny Dickinson of Albuquerque, Debi & Rey Chapa of Ft. Stockton, Cousins, Joseph, Myka, and Lori Chapa of Ft. Stockton, and numerous other aunts, uncles, cousins, family & friends.
Visitation will be held at the Pecos Funeral Home Chapel Tuesday and Wednesday. Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. Thursday, June 8, 2006 at the West Park Baptist Church in Pecos with Rev. Ray Carreon officiating. Interment will be held at 4:00 p.m. MT Friday at the Sunset Memorial Park in Albuquerque, NM.

Kermit V. Dunn
Dallas - Kermit V. Dunn, 96, passed away peacefully on June 2, 2006. Kermit studied history at Arkansas State Teachers College and went on to work for many years in the oil business. Mr. Dunn was a member of the Antioch Christian Church in Odessa. Kermit was proud to have been a 32nd Degree Mason. He and his beloved wife, Etta Mae, moved to Dallas in 1990 to be closer to their family. Mr. Dunn was preceded in death by wife, Etta Mae Dunn; and son, James Elliott Dunn. He is survived by daughter, Carol Harber; son, William Dunn and wife, Gretchen; granddaughters, Tracy Theodoropoulos; Elizabeth Harber; grandson, Robert Harber; granddaughters, Allison and Kathryn Dunn; great-grandson, Pano Theodoropoulos; and great-granddaughter, Eleni Theodoropoulos. Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 10, 2006 at Restland Memorial Park with David Keebler officiating.

Vona Lee Heiting
Midland - Vona Lee Heiting, of Midland, passed away Friday, June 2, 2006.
She was born November 26, 1951 to Ray Alford McMullin and Alves Eloise Davis McMullin in Nacona, Texas. She was a graduate of Andrews High School and Odessa College. Vona also graduated from UTPB. She was the past president of Phi Theta Kappa and was a member of the Texas State Teacher’s Association. On May 25, 1996, Vona married Dr. Tom Heiting. At the time of her death, she was a teacher at Abell Jr. High where she was chair of the English Department. Other memberships included the American Poetry Society and the Literary Society.
Vona is survived by her husband, Dr. Tom Heiting of Midland, TX; son, Shane Underwood of Hurst, TX; daughter, Clair R. Underwood of Lubbock, TX; mother, Eloise Nielson of Riverside, CA; step-son, Tom E. Heiting of Midland, TX; step-daughter, Lynn M. Heiting, of Odessa, TX; grandmother, Gussie Lee Davis of Leesville, LA; brothers, Dale Reeves of Harrison, AK; and Art Reeves of El Paso, TX; sisters, Elaine Reeves of San Antonio, TX; and Kathy Taylor of Enid, OK; grandchildren, Caden, Kaylee Joe, and Landon Underwood, Paxton and Payton Heiting.
A Biblical wake was held at 7:00 P.M. Tuesday, June 6, 2006 at Ellis Funeral Home.
Funeral services have been scheduled for 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, June 7, 2006 at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Art Reeves, Shane Underwood, George Friesen, Dr. Tony Heiting, Dr. Steve Heiting and Jim Gillham. Delphus ‘Del’ Forbush
Monahans - Delphus “Del” Forbush, age 66, of Monahans, died Friday, June 2, 2006 in Odessa, Texas. He was born March 8, 1940, in York, Pennsylvania, to Gordon H. and Louise Forbush, Sr. He married Linda Anthony on May 25, 1973, in Monahans, Texas. He was retired from the U. S. Air Force, and served as the Veteran’s Service Officer for Ward County. He had held the office of Monahans Chamber of Commerce Manager and was the owner of Del’s Photography. Most recently he was the ranch foreman for the Anthony Ranch. He was a member of First Baptist Church, where he taught Sunday School and was a member of the First Baptist Church Choir.
Services are set for 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 7, 2006 at First Baptist Church, with Dr. James McGlothlin officiating. Burial will be at 9 a.m. at Monahans Memorial cemetery, under the direction of Harkey Family Funeral Services.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Forbush, of Monahans, sons, Delphus Forbush, Jr. of Yuma, AZ Tim Forbush of Monahans and Gordon Forbush of Ft. Worth, daughters, Rebecca Forbush of Yuma, AZ, D’Lynn Watts of Midland and Caren Forbush of Odessa. His mother, Louise Forbush of Jacobus, PA, brothers, Gordon H. Forbush of Red Lion, PA, Norman Forbush of Las Vegas, NV, Steven Forbush of New Salem, PA, and Todd Forbush of Jacobus, PA, and sisters, Anita Sheaffer of Branson, MO, and Beth Ann Forbush of York, PA. Also 17 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchild.

Max Eugene Conway
Odessa - Max Eugene Conway, age 89, passed away Friday, June 2, 2006 at Sienna Care Center in Odessa.
Funeral services will be 10:00 am Wednesday in the Frank Wilson Chapel with Dr. Jimmy Braswell officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Max was born November 6, 1916 in Terrell, Texas to James and Flossie (Strickland) Conway. He worked as a driller in the oilfield. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Betty Conway.
Max is survived by three sons David Conway of Austin, Larry Conway of Nyrobie, Kenya, Billy J. Conway of Mineola; daughter Maxine Langley of Arlington; brother Dick Conway of Phoenix; three grandchildren Patrick Conway of Lubbock, Andrew and Micah Conway of Nyrobie Kenya.
Services entrusted to Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.

Lora Elizabeth ‘Liz’ Vincent
Odessa Lora Elizabeth “Liz” Vincent, 85, of Odessa passed away Tuesday, May 30, 2006 at Alliance Hospital. She was born December 25, 1920 in Spearman, TX to John Wiles & Tabitha (Sparks) Burges.
She moved to Odessa in 1946. She taught school in Spearman during WWII and later substitute taught. She attended Austin College and was a charter member & very active at St. Andrew Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She made beautiful handmade quilts and also had delivered Meals On Wheels.
She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers, John Wiles Burges Jr., Claude J. Burges & sisters, Anita Janzen & Vivian Witt.
She is survived by her husband Jack Vincent of Odessa, children, Phillip Vincent & wife Brenda, David Vincent & wife Vicki, Geonne Franklin & husband Roy, Joe Vincent & wife Carol, Bynum Vincent & wife Joni, brother, Gray Sparks Burges all of Odessa, (13) grandchildren, (12) great-grandchildren & (2) great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces & nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 2, 2006 at St. Andrew Cumberland Presbyterian Church with Rev. Jimmy Braswell officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
