ODESSA -- Mass for Adam Flores Sr., 76, of Odessa will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Gilbert Rodriguez officiating.
Interment will follow at Rose Hill cemetery under the direction of Odessa Funeral Home Angeles Memorial Chapel.
Rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m. today at Odessa Funeral Home Angeles Memorial Chapel.
Mr. Flores died Monday, April 12, 1999, at Vencore Hospital in Fort Worth. He was born May 22, 1922, in Lubbock. He married
Frances Flores on Jan. 15, 1982, in Odessa. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eulalio Flores and Teresa Chavez.
Mr. Flores was a retired plumber and came to Odessa in 1950. He was Catholic.
Survivors include his wife, Frances Flores of Odessa; sons, Adam Flores Jr. of Colorado City, David Flores of Odessa, Hector Flores of Dallas; stepson, Miguel Hinojoza of Odessa; daughters, Lucinda Ramirez of Odessa, Enedina Harris of Little Rock, Ark., Mary Guzman of Houston, Anita Deleon of Dallas; Emma Dominguez of Odessa and Elizabeth Acosta of Odessa; brother, Ismael Flores; sister, Eva Chavez; 31 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.

Jane McCurry
ODESSA -- Jane McCurry, 79, of Gardendale passed away Wednesday, April 14, 1999, in an Odessa hospital. Mrs. McCurry was born January 14, 1920, in Dallas, Texas.
She graduated from Southwest High School, Kansas City, Missouri in 1936 and went on to graduate from William Jewell College in 1940 with a B.A. in English. While there, she was a member of Beta Sigma Omicron and Zeta Ta Alpha. She married
James E. McCurry on January 4, 1944, in San Diego, California. They owned and operated the Western Auto in Crane from 1955 to 1966 and she continued to work for Western Auto in Dallas from 1966 until her retirement in 1982. She was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church in Gardendale, the Order of the Eastern Star and a bridge club. She loved playing bridge and playing the piano for the church school. She was preceded in death by her brother, Paul Russell Richardson Jr. in April of 1930 and her husband in September 1971.
She is survived by a son, David McCurry of Houston; a daughter, Nancy Rhoads of Gardendale; three grandchildren, Kalynn F. Robinson, David R. McCurry Jr. and Melissa Ann Isenhower.
Public visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, April 17, 1999, in the First Southern Baptist Church, Gardendale, Texas, with the Rev. Eric Seay and the Rev. Jimmy Hester officiating.

Mary Etta Stricklan
ELDORADO, Texas -- Mary Etta Stricklan went to be with the Lord on April 13, 1999, at her home in Eldorado.
Services will be at 1 p.m. today at First Baptist Church in Eldorado with arrangements by Kerbow Funeral Home. Burial will be at Eldorado cemetery.
Mary Etta was born August 21, 1928, in McCamey, Texas, to Mayme and Henry Davidson. Mary Etta graduated from McCamey High School, and while working in McCamey, met and married
her lifelong partner, Leon Stricklan in 1946.
Mary Etta is survived by her beloved husband, Leon; daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Toby Tripp of Odessa; son and daughter-in-law, Rick and Lori Stricklan of Eldorado; grandchildren, Bradley Beaty of Huntsville, Melanie Stricklan of Robbins AFB, Georgia, Brian Madison of Dallas, Traci Stricklan of Warner Robbins, Ga., Lori Gray of Odessa and Bryan Tripp of Phoenix, Ariz.; great-granddaughters, Megan and Kendall Gray of Odessa; sisters, Linda Walling of San Angelo and JoAnn Willhelm of Kermit; brother, Henry Davidson of San Angelo; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of beloved friends.
Mary Etta was preceded in death by her parents Mayme and Henry Davidson, her sister, Charlotte Good, and her brother, Gary Davidson.
Mary Etta was a member of First Baptist Church in Eldorado, where she was active in Sunday school, Senior Ambassadors, and youth craft activities.
Mary Etta enjoyed traveling, particularly with the Senior Ambassadors.
Our beloved Nana will be missed for her wonderful gift of encouraging others with her desire to help and counsel, for her excellent cooking, her talents in crafts and crochet, and her compassion and love that was an inspiration to everyone.

Dixie Ruth Owen
ODESSA -- Dixie Ruth Owen of Odessa died Tuesday, April 13, 1999, at Crane County Nursing Home.
She was born Aug. 16, 1924, in El Paso, Texas, to George and Emily Owen.
Services will be at 4 p.m., Thursday, April 15, 1999, at Lutheran Church of the Risen Lord with the Rev. Preston Weatherly & the Rev. James Otterness officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest cemetery in Temple, Texas, at 1 p.m., Friday under the direction of Frank W, Wilson Funeral Directors.
Ms. Owen moved to Temple when she was 3 years old, She attended elementary and graduated from Temple High School in 1941. She attended and graduated from (T.S.C.W.) Texas State College for Women in 1945. She then taught school in Waco and Ferris, Texas, before moving to Odessa. Ruth first taught at Bowie Jr. High, then transferred to Bonham Jr. High. She taught 30 years for E.C.I.S.D. and retired at age 65 in 1989. Ruth told the Bonham Jr. High students she could remember when University was a dirt road behind the school. Most of her teaching involved Science and Home Economics. Ruth loved her dogs, her church, Lutheran Church of the Risen Lord, her friends, students and traveling. She was a member of Delta Iota Branch of Delta Kappa Gamma for 20 years.
Ruth is survived by cousins, Miss Margaret Huddleston of Waco and Mrs. Mary Ethlene Tracey of Kermit. Care giver Betty Lively and husband Jim of Odessa, and numerous friends.

LUBBOCK -- James Owen Berryhill Sr. (Jimmy) was born November 1, 1933 in Muskogee, Oklahoma. He was the son of Owen Dallas Berryhill and Mattie Irene Berryhill, both deceased, and brother of Sue Geron, deceased. He died April 8, 1999. Celebration services will be held in Lubbock, Texas at the Sunset Church of Christ at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 10, and graveside services will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Odessa at 5 p.m. Saturday, April 10, 1999.

Clyde Cecil Coplin
ODESSA -- Services for Clyde Cecil Coplin, 82, of Odessa will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home with the Rev. Larry Garnto officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Coplin died Wednesday, April 7, 1999, at Medical Center Hospital. He was born Oct. 6, 1916, in Weiser, Idaho. He married
Rita Gabrielle Allaire Sept. 12, 1945, in Fitchburg, Mass.
Mr. Coplin has lived in Odessa since 1983. He was a retired construction superintendent for Shell Oil Company. He served in the 45th Division in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He was preceded in death by a son, Michael Coplin.
Survivors his wife, Rita Coplin of Odessa; sister, Bertha Curtis of Fort Worth; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Andrew Bailey Hinton
ODESSA -- Andrew Bailey Hinton of Odessa passed away on Resurrection Sunday, April 4, 1999, in Odessa. He was born June 18, 1915, in Valley Mills, the son of Prudie Loper and Luke Hinton. Bailey married
Sylvia Bea Baggett in San Antonio June 20, 1942.
Bailey is survived by his wife, Sylvia, of Odessa; children, Sharron McClellan and husband, Michael, of Abilene, Allan Blake Hinton and wife, Deborah, of Odessa and Muriel Parker and husband, Ray, of Pflugerville; and a sister, Helen Simmonds of Austin.
Surviving grandchildren are Eric McClellan, Brandon McClellan and Rachel McClellan, all of Abilene, James and Kristin McClellan Ashby of Garland, Michael Pineda of Denton, Ron Pineda of Miami Beach, Fla., Bobby and Margo Hinton Rodriguez of Fort Worth, Cliff and Cynthia Hinton Self of Odessa, Paul and Stephanie Hinton Caudillo of Norman, Okla., Autumn Hinton, Wesley and Alana Hinton Word, Allan Blake Hinton II, and Sloan Hinton of Odessa, Nathan and Nicole Parker Lino of Wake Forest, N.C., and Andrew Parker and Derek Parker of Pflugerville. Great-grandchildren are Megan and Colton Pineda, Spencer, Chandler and Skyler Self, Zachary and Hunter Cauditto, Devon Hinton and Dylan and Katelin Word. He also had many loving nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Edith Blount; and great-grandson, Austin Caudillo.
Bailey graduated from Eastland High School in 1935 and served in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II. He received the American Defense Service Medal, American Theater Campaign Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, World War II Victory Medal and the Good Conduct Medal.
After moving his family to Odessa in 1951, he worked in concrete finishing and retired from the oil field service business. He was a charter member of Second Baptist Church.
Bailey, known as "Bobo" to his grandchildren, loved to fish, work crossword puzzles and talk. His family will have many stories to remember him by.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 7, 1999, at Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors Chapel. Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. The family will be available for visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
