Odessa - Lester T. “L.T.” Pickering, 84, of Monahans, a retired oilfield mechanic, died Thursday, May 25, 2006, at Ward Memorial Hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Dwight Church of Christ. Burial will be at Monahans Memorial cemetery. Arrangements are by Martinez-Smith and Miller Funeral Chapel and Crematory.
He was born in Yale, Okla. He was Christian.
Survivors Wife, Imogene Pickering of Monahans; son, Louis Pickering of Monahans; daughter, Ann Pickering of Monahans; sister, Lorene Martz of Odessa; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Odessa - Bobby L. Schoolcraft, 56, of Odessa, a truck driver, died Sunday, May 21, 2006, at his residence.

Odessa - Benny Ray Hudson, 59, of Odessa, died January 31, 2007 at his home.
Services will be at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, February 6, 2007 at the Bethlehem Baptist Church, 1000 W. Clements St., with Pastor Roy Gentry, officiating.
Burial will follow at Rosehill cemetery under the direction of Martinez-Smith Funeral Chapels & Crematory of Odessa.
Benny Ray Hudson was born January 23, 1948 in Odessa, Texas to Jessie Hudson and Connie Polk Hudson. He graduated from Permian High School in 1967 and attended Odessa College. Benny attended Bethel Baptist Church. He worked for Jones Brothers Dirt & Paving Contractors for 15 years.
He leaves to cherish his loving memory: Wife, Jacquelyn Hudson; 3 daughters, Shantaneya Harris, Tilicia McDavid and Eletta Ellis, all of Odessa; 1 son, Benny R. Hudson Jr. of Tennessee, Texas; 1 brother, Victor McCowan of Odessa; 1 Aunt, Willie Mae Hooper and a host of cousins and friends.
Nell Tippy
Hobbs, N.M. - Nellie (Mayme) Lavern Tippy, 77, died Saturday February 3rd at home in Hobbs NM surrounded by her loving family. Nell was born August 25, 1929 in Bonita, LA. She married
LB Tippy on March 31, 1950 at Dyess AR. She moved to Hobbs, NM with her husband in 1951.
She is survived by her husband LB Tippy; four sons and their wives: Lee & Kathleen Tippy, of Odessa TX; Jim & Susan Tippy, Roger & Carmon Tippy, and Joe & Debbie Tippy all of Hobbs NM; ten grandchildren: Justin and wife Chantel of College Station, Jason and wife Lauren of Monahans, Rex and wife Amy of Midland, Texas; Clint, Crystal, and Gayla of Lubbock; Cody and wife Wendi, Camillia, Sharilyn and husband Shane, and Guy Ross of Hobbs; three great grandchildren: Kenzi and Kodi Rayne of Hobbs and Brooke of College Station; a sister Opal Senger, a brother Ken Ward. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd and Clara Ward; a sister, Evelyn Tippy; and a brother, Paul Ward.
Nell was one of the world’s greatest mothers. She was devoted to her Lord Jesus and a faithful member of Life Temple United Pentecostal Church. Nell loved singing in church and spending time with her grandchildren. Another great pleasure in her life was decorating; she made numerous life long friends and enjoyed over 25 happy years as a Home Interior Representative. She had several occupations in addition to being a wonderful wife and homemaker: she worked at the Hobbs News Sun as both bookkeeper and carrier; managed the family business, Kens Radiator, in Hobbs and also did farm census work for the USDA. She was a caring and compassionate lady who touched many lives in Hobbs and surrounding communities and will be deeply missed.
Nell’s family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to Tami Leonard and the staff of Star Hospice, Sandy Fisher and Eloisa Rodriguez for their loving care during mom’s difficult time.
Services to celebrate Nell’s life will be held Wednesday, February the 7th, 10:00 A.M. at Taylor Memorial Baptist Church under the direction of Chapel of Hope with Reverend Jason Tippy and Pastor Wilbur Boone officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Life Temple United Pentecostal Church of Hobbs.
Vickie Sharon Nitsch
Odessa - Vickie Sharon Nitsch went home to be with the Lord February 3, 2007. Formerly of Odessa, Vickie worked hard for education for the Kansas National Education Association in Dodge City, KS. She graduated from Ector High School in 1961 and retired as Head Librarian from Permian High School. She then worked for the Texas State Teachers Association until she moved to Kansas.
Vickie supported many charities, including the Battered Women’s Foundation of Dodge City and St. Jude’s Hospital. She was known as the “Box Lady” to a class of third grade student’s because she bought their school supplies and delivered the supplies and other gifts of affection to them in a big box. She was greatly loved by all who knew her. She always thought of others before herself.
Born August 18, 1943, Vickie was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Marie Brigman.
Her survivors include her sons, Skyler Nitsch of Temple, TX, Spencer Nitsch and his wife, Laura of Tulsa, OK, her granddaughter, Shara Claver, her grandson, Devin Nitsch, her brother, Rickey Brigman and his wife, Irene of Phoenix, AZ and her sister Carol Edwards of Odessa.
A family visitation will be held from 6-8 pm, Tuesday, February 6, 2007 in the chapel of Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.
Funeral services will be held at 1 pm, Wednesday, February 7, 2007 at Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors with Rev. David Johnson of Central Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Windell Dale Hinsley
Midland - Windell Dale Hinsley, of Midland, passed away Saturday, February 3, 2007.
He was born August 17, 1946 in Dequeen, Arkansas to Clifford Lloyd Hinsley and Lola Mae Vaught. Windell was self-employed as a computer technician. He moved to Texas in 1949 and was a member of PBMA. Windell loved motorcycles and racing. He married
the love of his life, Sally Dickman on June 17, 1967 in Odessa, Texas.
Windell is survived by his wife Sally Hinsley; sons, Kerry Hinsley and spouse Kelly Hinsley, Shawn Hinsley and spouse Christie Hinsley, daughter Jennifer Trice and spouse Jimmy Trice; brother Dewan Hinsley, numerous nieces, nephews and six grandchildren.
Graveside services have been scheduled for 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, February 6, 2007 at Resthaven Memorial Park.
The family request that memorials be directed to The National Kidney Foundation.

Balmorhea - Pattye Jean Brown, 79, of Fort Stockton, Texas dies February 1, 2007 in Fort Stockton. Pattye was born May 13, 1927 in McCamey, Texas to Brawley Adams and Louise Humphreys. She was a lifetime member of the Eagles, VFW Auxiliary, and American Legion Auxiliary. She was a Methodist.
Memorial Services will be Thursday, February 8, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at the Methodist Church in Balmorhea, Texas. Rev. Ernie Vinyard will be officiating.
Pattye is preceded in death by her son Joseph B. Brown and husband Raymond E. Brown.
She is survived by her son Raymond E. Brown Jr. of Midland, her daughters Maggie Brown of Fort Stockton and Diane Brown of Claymore, Oklahoma. Jessie Nunnally
Abilene - Jessie Nunnally, 94, formerly of Abilene, died Saturday, February 03, 2007, at a nursing center in Odessa, Texas.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at Elliott-Hamil Chapel of Memories, 542 Hickory, Abilene, Texas, with Reverend Tom Long officiating. Interment will follow at 3:00 p.m. in Rising Star cemetery, Rising Star, Texas, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Todd Nunnally, Ryan Lineweaver, Dean Bailey, J. Weldon Moore, C. W. Moore, and Don Lee.
Jessie was born in the Williams Community, Brown County, Texas on February 19, 1912 to Hattie Keller and J. M. Moore. She was raised as an avid sports fan. Jessie played on the 1930 State Championship basketball team for Williams High School in Brown County. They won the game and traveled to Dallas in 1931 for the exhibition game against Babe Didrikson Zaharias’ team. It was the highlight of her high school years. The Dallas Cowboys and the Texas Girls basketball games were always a weekend event along with a meal of Dad’s favorite, beans and cornbread. Jessie married
John A. Nunnally in 1934 in Henderson, Texas. They moved from Brownwood to Abilene in 1952. Jessie was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; five sisters; and two brothers.
Survivors include her son, Alton Don Nunnally and wife, Mary, of Odessa, Texas; a daughter, Jan Lineweaver and husband, John C., of Abilene, Texas; four grandchildren, Todd Nunnally, Karen Chidiac, Stephanie Siegner, and Ryan Lineweaver; and seven great-grandchildren.

Katherine ‘Kitty’ L. Tronstad
Port Arthur - Katherine “Kitty” L. Tronstad, 85, of Odessa, Texas and formerly of Port Arthur, died February 1, 2007. She was born on February 18, 1921 in Albia, Iowa to Vincent Corso and Naomi Toigo Corso. She had lived in Port Arthur for 59 years before moving to Odessa 15 months ago. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, the Altar Guild, the Gold and Silver Club, Ramallah Temple No. 89, Port Arthur Assembly No. 160 Social Order of Beauceant, Groves/Port Arthur OES No. 953, the Red Hat Chapter of Happy Hats, and Eastern Belles. She was also past matron and member of the Patron Club of District 4 Section 2 OES, the Red Cardinal Club and the State Club for OES.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 5, 2007 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Port Arthur under the direction of Levingston Funeral Home in Groves. Pastor Buddy Blake officiated. Burial followed at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
Kitty is survived by her daughter; Shirley Shapiro and husband, Tommy of Odessa, Tx., two grandchildren; Liz Campbell and husband, Judd, and Katie Claxton, and two great grandchildren; Max Campbell and Sophie Grace Campbell.
She was preceded in death by her husband; Capt. Glenn E. Tronstad, and her daughter; Kathy Claxton.
Otilia M. Lujan
Odessa - Otilia M. Lujan, 70, a long time resident of Odessa went to be with our Lord on Sunday, February 4, 2007 at the Hospice House. She was born March 14, 1936 in Marfa to Pedro & Angelita Martinez. She was born and raised in Marfa and graduated from Marfa High School. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She was married
to Federico H. Lujan, April 27, 1953 in Marfa.
She was a loving wife and mother.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her loving husband Federico Lujan.
