Dorothy Louise Monk Segura

Nederland - Dorothy Louise Monk Segura, 76, of Beaumont, Texas died at Lufkin Memorial Hospital on February 8, 2007 after a lengthy illness. She was born May 22, 1930 in Port Neches, Texas to the late Benjamin F., Sr. and Cora Katherine Scott Monk. She accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior as a young girl and joined the Baptist Church. She helped to establish the Caldwood Baptist Church in Beaumont, Texas. She graduated from South Park High School in Beaumont, Texas in 1948 and North Texas State University in Denton, Texas in 1951. Dorothy married Allen R. Segura, Sr. in the First Baptist Church of Beaumont, Texas. She taught 3rd grade at Pietzsch Elementary in Beaumont, Texas until the birth of her children. She taught piano lessons from her home. She played piano for various local churches. She was very active in her children’s lives by being the leader in Cub Scouts and Brownie Girl Scouts.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and 4 brothers, Harry Monk, J. W. Monk, Dr. Oliver Monk, and Phillip Monk.
She is survived by one brother, Dr. Ben F. Monk of Olympia, Washington; 2 sons, James Benjamin Segura of Beaumont, Texas and Allen R. Segura, Jr. and wife, Sandra of Lake Elsinore, California; 2 daughters, Judge Katherine L. Wilson and husband, Keith of Odessa, Texas and Dr. Laura Hebert and husband, David of Lufkin, Texas; 8 grandchildren, Michael Segura of Dallas, Texas, Candace Segura of Lake Elsinore, California, Dr. Brandy Segura of Sacramento, California, Jared Wilson, Jenna Wilson, and Jordan Wilson, all of Odessa, Texas, Lynn Hebert of Waco, Texas, Missy Hebert of Lufkin, Texas; 3 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Sunday, February 11th, from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. prior to service at Heritage Funeral Home in Nederland, Texas.
Services will be Sunday, February 11th at 3:00 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home, the Rev. Robert Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches, Texas.

Wilma Galloway Brown

Odessa - Wilma Galloway Brown, 91, passed away Thursday, February 8, 2007 at the Hospice House. She was born September 2, 1915 to Columbus Henry & Maggie (Johnston) Galloway in Knoxville, Tennessee.
When she was a small child her parents moved Wilma and her sister to El Paso, Texas. After graduating from El Paso High School in 1934, Wilma attended Nursing school. It was at this time she met and married Samuel “Bill” Brown in 1936. She and Samuel had two daughters, Martha Lou and Marion.
In 1948 they moved to Wink, Texas where they raised their girls. Wilma became one of Wink’s strongest football fans, never missing a game. She was an avid bridge player and a member of the American Contract Bridge League. She was very proud when she earned her “Life Masters” in bridge.
Wilma moved back to El Paso in 1969, where they lived until 1993 when she and Sam moved to Odessa to be closer to family.
Wilma’s family will long remember and miss her chili rellenos and macaroni and cheese. She had a keen mind and it was sharp to the end. She was a member of the Progressive Study Club and looked forward to each meeting. She enjoyed reading the newspaper from cover to cover every day, but most of all she loved spending time with her family, especially on special occasions and holidays.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 69 1/2 years and her son-in-law Sammy Long of McCamey.
She is survived by her daughters, Martha Lou Long of McCamey, Marion Berryhill & son-in-law Sheril of Odessa, her sister, Evelyn White of St. Louis, MO, grandsons, Tracy Long & wife Tina of Katy, TX, Perry Berryhill & wife T.J. of Odessa, Darren Berryhill & wife Kathy of Odessa, great-grandchildren, Laci Sullenger, Kyle Long, Adison Long of Katy, Ryan Berryhill, Zachery Berryhill, Nicholas Woolley & Emily Berryhill of Odessa and great-great-granddaughter, Gracie of Katy.
Visitation will be Saturday evening from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, February 11, 2007 at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kyle Rogers officiating. Burial will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday, February 12, 2007 at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Serving as pallbearers Gregg Eddings, Tracy Long, Perry Berryhill, Darren Berryhill, Kyle Long, Ryan Berryhill, Zachery Berryhill, Nicholas Woolley & Cameron Kirkland.
Memorials may be made to the Hospice House, 903 N. Sam Houston, Odessa, TX 79761.
Services entrusted to Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

Ida Ilene Graham Foust

Bridger, Mont. - Ida Foust, 67, left this world Tuesday, February 6, 2007 at St. Vincent Hospital, surrounded by her family.
Ida was born August 3, 1939 (2nd twin) in Hardin, MT to Arthur and Irene Lorash Graham. She was 1 of 9 children. The family moved to Bridger in 1942. Ida married Ralph Dale Foust on October 10, 1958. They resided in Bridger until May 1970 when they moved to Texas. They returned to Bridger after retiring in 1993.
Ida is preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers and husband.
She is survived by daughter, Kari of Billings, MT; 2 sons, Ralph (Shawna) Foust, Jr., of Odessa, TX, Clayton (Tina) Foust of Fromberg, MT and 12 grandchildren. Also surviving are 2 sisters, Ada (Dick) Dede of Billings, MT, Jo (George) Thormahlen of Joliet, MT; 3 brothers, Verle (Arlene) Graham of Baker, MT, Cliff (Shirley) Graham of Lolo, MT and Paul (Alice) Graham of Odessa, TX; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.
“You are at peace now. Join daddy and our Heavenly Father. We miss you so deeply.”
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February, 10, 2007 at Smith Funeral Chapel, Laurel, MT. Interment will be in the Bridger cemetery followed by a luncheon at the American Legion Hall in Fromberg, MT.

Glenn Hergenrader

Rosenberg - A Memorial Service for Glenn Hergenrader, 57, of Richmond, Texas will be held at 2:00 P.M., Sunday, February 11, 2007 in the Chapel of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg, Texas.
Glenn was born December 24, 1949 in Lincoln, Nebraska to Victor and Mary (Jacobs) Hergenrader. He played football for the University of Nebraska where he received his Bachelor’s Degree. Glenn served in the U.S. Air Force and was a member of the American Legion. He belonged to the Greater Houston Coaches Association and the Texas High School Coaches Association. He loved spending time with his children and grandsons, fishing and barbecuing. Glenn also loved mentoring, motivating and being a role model for children. He coached at 8 different schools across Texas and 2 schools in Nebraska. He passed away February 7, 2007 in Sugar Land, Texas.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Victor and Mary Hergenrader.
Glenn is lovingly survived by his wife of 15 years, Sue Hergenrader; Daughter: Tevyan Sorensen and husband, Anton; Son: Sean Gentry and wife, Tonya; Grandsons: Connor and Colin Gentry; Brother: Allan Hergenrader and wife, Mardell; Nephew: Dave Hergenrader and wife, Sarah; Niece: Jolene Hergenrader; Along with extended family and numerous fellow coaches, former and current players and many wonderful friends.
Memorial donations may be made in Glenn’s name to the Joe Beene Fund; Greater Houston Football Coaches Association Scholarship Fund; or to the Glenn Hergenrader Scholarship Fund at George W. Bush High School.

Ruth Inez Wright

Brady - Ruth Inez Wright, age 88, of Monahans passed away Thursday, February 8, 2007 at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa.
She was born October 26, 1918 in Carlsbad, New Mexico. She was a homemaker. Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, February 10, 2007 at Community Christian Church in Brady, Texas with Reverend Charles Stokes officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven cemetery in Brady. Services are under the direction of Harkey Family Funeral Services in Monahans.
Survivors include 3 sons, Johnny Trigg and wife Barbara of San Angelo, Robert Trigg and wife Christine of Abilene, Tommy Wright and wife Telena of Flower Mound; 1 daughter, Betty Wells and husband Robert of Monahans; 4 brothers, Joe Placker and wife Linda of Corpus Christi, Ray Placker and wife Joy of Corpus Christi, Bill Placker and wife Irene of Billingham, Washington, and Jake Placker and wife Jessie of Carrollton; 10 grandchildren, Debbie Moore, Rhonda Gazaway, Carrie Andrews, Michael Trigg, Ronnie Trigg, Johnny Trigg, Jerry Trigg, Jeffrey Trigg, Tad Wright, and Tina Wright.
She is preceded in death by her husband Harry Wright.

Mary LaRayne Dopita

Odessa - LaRayne Dopita, 78, of Odessa went to be with her Lord on Friday, February 9, 2007, after a lengthy illness.
She was born August 6, 1928 to Mary Cross and Harry Botterman in Denver, Colorado.
La Rayne met her husband, Norman, while living in Plainville, Kansas.
They married January 11, 1946 and celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in 2006.
She was a homemaker and a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
She is survived by daughters, Leigha Rackow and husband Eddie of Odessa, Maria Fulton and husband Sammy of Leander, Stephanie Bodin and husband Robert of Amarillo, 9 grandchildren and 6 great-grand children.
She was preceded in death by her husband Norman, mother and step-father Mary Cross and Raymond Dewey, son Daniel and infant daughter Margaret.
Graveside service will be held 3:00 p.m. Monday, February 12, 2007 at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Dr. Jimmy Braswell of St. Andrew Cumberland Presbyterian Church officiating. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Sunset Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home.
The family would like to give special thanks to Odyssey and Star Hospices, Caring Senior Services and Mo and her girls of Andrews for all their loving care and concern for Mom.

Yvonne Durlene Barnett Morris

Odessa - Yvonne Durlene Barnett Morris, 70, of Odessa died Friday evening at Medical Center Hospital. Graveside services will be 4:00 PM Monday, February 12, 2007 at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Don Swindle of Star Hospice officiating. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Sunset Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home.
Mrs. Morris was born September 1, 1936 in Comanche, Oklahoma to Allen and Ruth Dunn Barnett. The family lived in Lubbock prior to moving to Odessa where she was a graduate of Odessa High School. She married John H. Morris in Odessa on November 21, 1957. She retired in 1997. Memorials may be directed to Star Hospice; 620 N. Grant; Odessa, TX 79761.
Survivors include her husband John her children; Rhonda Morris, Carol Lynn Hull and husband Clarence; John B. Morris and Allen Dale Morris all of Odessa. Seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, 2 brother and 3 sisters.

Phillip Howard Poindexter

Odessa - Phillip Howard Poindexter, 6, of Odessa, passed away February 8, 2007 in Dallas, Texas. He was a 1st grader at Gonzales Elementary, he was a Cub Scout, he loved playing internet games Neopets and he loved Starwars. He was born February 12, 2000 to John and Lauren Poindexter in Lubbock, Texas.
Funeral services will be 1:00p.m. Tuesday February 13, 2007 at Frank Wilson Funeral Chapel with Rev. Clair Danhoff officiating with burial at Sunset cemetery.
Phillip is survived by his parents, John and Lauren, his brothers, Roddy Poindexter, Jackson Poindexter of Odessa Grandparents, Barbra Poindexter of lubbock, John Jackson of Odessa and Gail Jackson Dawl Johnson of Odessa, Great grandmother Dorothy Allen of Lubbock, Aunt & Uncle Annette and Woody Morris of Lubbock. Uncle Carl Poindexter of White City, Kansas. Great Aunt Marty Woody Granite Shoals, Texas. Cousins Brooklynne & C.J. of White City, Kansas. Second Cousins Josh, Katie, Trent, and Bo of Port Lavaca, Texas.

Ninfa Salinas Anzaldua

Odessa - Ninfa Salinas Anzaldua, 62, of Odessa, passed away at her residence Monday, February 12, 2007. She was born January 4, 1945 in Brownsville, TX to Jesus and Santos Lucio Salinas. She was a Christian Catholic and a health care provider for the Health Care Industry.
She was preceded in death by her father Jesus Salinas and husband Pedro Anzaldua. She is survived to cherish her memories, her dearly beloved and special companion: Henry Hernandez. of Odessa; mother: Santos L. Salinas of Lamesa; son: Eric Anzaldua; daughters: Georgia Carrillo and husband Rudy, Joann Cobos and husband Miguel, all of Odessa; brothers: Jessie Salinas and Arnold Salinas, both of Odessa; sisters: Rosalinda Morales and Liz Morales, both of Lamesa, Yolanda Kemp of Midland, Enriqueta Garcia of Lubbock, Alice Sanchez and Gloria Ramos, both of Odessa; 10 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
Active pallbearers will be Jason Hernandez, Miguel Cobos Jr., Joshua Cobos, Eddie Sanchez, David Sanchez, and Robert Sanchez. Honorary pallbearers will be Ben Cobos and Simon Cobos.
A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today, February 13, 2007, at Odessa Funeral Home. Mass will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Wednesday, February 14, 2007, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with Reverend Mark Miller officiating. Per family request, interment will be held privately.
Services by Odessa Funeral Home.

Christina Ann Logan-Warden

Odessa - Christina Ann Logan-Warden, 39, of Odessa, went to be with the Lord Saturday, February 10, 2007. She was born June 10, 1967 in El Paso, Texas to Steve and Rose Sherbon Logan. The family moved to Odessa in 1975. Christy was a loving daughter, sister, aunt and mother. She was also a devoted grandmother that cherished the moments spent with her granddaughter. She was an honest and genuine person that had a true love for animals. She was a member of Temple Baptist Church of Odessa. One of the happiest moments in her life was when she gave her life to Christ and was baptized. We will always remember her laughter and smile.
She is survived by her ex-husband Gary Smith of Fort Worth; her husband Brian Warden; and loving companion Ray Walker; Sons, Michael Smith, Baby Landon Walker and Justin Walker of San Angelo; Daughter Alicia Smith Rey and husband Johnny; Father Steve Logan Sr. and stepmother Tina of Midland. Mother Rose Hutchison and stepfather Dennis of Dallas; Brothers, Steve Logan Jr. and fiancé Kristie Costley; Brian Loftin and wife Christi of Midland; Sister Shawna Farrill and husband Darren; Granddaughter Kayden Christina Robles; Grandparents, Kenneth and Barbara Sherbon, U.G. and Rosetta Logan; Aunts, Loretta Belknap and husband Steve, Becky Heald and husband Jerry, Gloria McGuire and husband Randy and Uncle “Bob” Robert Sherbon; Nieces and nephews, Cody, Meagan, Tyler, Kaleb, Josh, Lacie, Jaicelyn, Justin, Kayleigh, Nick, and many loving cousins, all of Odessa. Funeral services will be 9:00 AM Wednesday, February 14, 2007 at Sunset Memorial Chapel with Dr. Griffin Jones of Temple Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens under the direction of Sunset Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home.

Christine ‘Christina’ Heredia

Odessa - Christine “Christina” Heredia, 64, of Odessa, passed away February 9, 2007, at Medical Center Hospital. She was born January 27, 1943 in Big Spring, TX to parents Frank Mendoza and Louisa Santiago.
Mrs. Heredia was a barber and owner of Jaime’s Barber Shop. She was a Catholic.
She is survived by her special friend of 12 years, Saul R. Carrillo of Odessa, daughter, Jaime Lynn Hernandez and husband Gabriel of Odessa, brothers, Frank Mendoza, David Mendoza, Richard Mendoza and Robert Mendoza, all of Midland, TX, Raymond Mendoza of Oregon and Albert Mendoza of Tulsa, OK, sisters, Elvira Hammond of Owego, NY and Louisa Navarette of Midland, TX, three grandchildren, John A. Chavez, Jasmine Johnson and Jackie Johnson Jr., all of Odessa, TX. The family would like to thank everyone who donated towards her medical and funeral expenses, God bless you all.
Visitation for Mrs. Heredia will be held Tuesday, February 13, 2007 from 9 AM to 10 PM with a rosary being said at 7 PM at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 14, 2007 at 10 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Joe Uecker officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Martinez-Smith Funeral Chapels & Crematory.
