Wilbur J. Geeslin

Odessa - Wilbur J. Geeslin age 77 passed away Saturday, April 1, 2006 at his residence in Odessa.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Monday at Northside Baptist Church with Rev. Clydel Chapman officiating. Burial will be 10:00 AM Tuesday in Pampa, Texas at Fairview cemetery.
He was born in Mills County, Texas on August 25, 1928 to Jesse and Euphie (Wilson) Geeslin. He married Joann Davis October 10, 1948 in Odessa. He was a vice president for Eddins Walcher. He was a member of Northside Baptist Church. His greatest joy was serving the Lord. He was part of the bus ministry at Temple Baptist Church and loved working with the children there.
He was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather. He loved his family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his brother Elmer Geeslin.
He is survived by his wife Joann Geeslin of Odessa; son James Geeslin and wife Connie of Lorena, TX; daughters Elizabeth Geeslin of San Angelo, Katherine Bowles and husband Jim of Anchorage, Alaska, ; grandchildren Jennifer Heininger, Rebecca Gips, Lindsey Geeslin, Benjamin Geeslin; and great grandchild Henry Heininger.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Northside Baptist Church Building Fund or Home Hospice.
Services entrusted to Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.

Ricky Davis

Odessa - Ricky Davis, age 36, passed away Wednesday, March 29, 2006. Ricky was born in Odessa, TX on October 11, 1969. He spent a good part of his adult life showing his compassion for others by caring for clients at MHMR. Ricky also had a passion for the arts, and he was incredibly talented musically. Everyone who knows Ricky knew his love of reading, and he never lacked for conversation about a good book.
Ricky is survived by: Buddy and Gloria Davis (father and mother) of Odessa, Eddie Davis (brother) of Odessa, Chris and Kristi Davis (brother and sister-in-law) of Humble, TX, Maxine Hylton (Meemaw) of Odessa, Queena Bigbee (fiance) of Merkel, TX, aunts, uncles, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Ricky was a friend, a nephew, an uncle, a grandson, a brother, and a son. His loyalty to his friends and family will be devastatingly missed - always and forever in our thoughts - We love you, Rick.
Memorial Services will be 2:00 pm Sunday, April 2 at Acres West Funeral Chapel of Odessa with Reverend Robert Lamb, Jr. offiating. Services are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Jimmy Aiken Moseley

Odessa - Jimmy Aiken Moseley, age 61, passed away Friday, March 31, 2006, from a brief illness at Medical Center Hospital.
There will be a family visitation from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, April 2, 2006, at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 3, 2006, at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Rev. Mark Scott officiating and Jon Hendricks assisting.
He was born March 9, 1945, to Jeddie Aiken and Nadine Cordell (Allard) Moseley in Cooper, Delta County, Texas. He married Deborah Jann Allgood on May 22, 1976, in Odessa.
He has worked for Texas Tanque Mfg, Area Tank, RAMA, RMF Design and had been at Compressor Systems Inc for the last eight years. He enjoyed working with cars and was a Dale Earnhardt and NASCAR fan, and he loved his four dachshunds, Harry, BJ, Legacy and Lucy.
His parents preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Deborah Moseley, daughter, Kim Moseley Shackelford and husband Steven, all of Odessa; brother, Benny Joe Moseley of Rockhill, SC; and two grandchildren, Kelsey McKinzey and Trey Shackelford, also of Odessa.
Services entrusted to Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

Frankie Lou Rush

Odessa - Frankie Lou Rush age 75 passed away Friday, March 31, 2006 at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa.
Rosary will be said at 7:00 PM Sunday in the Frank Wilson Chapel.
Funeral Mass will be 11:00 AM Monday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Frankie’s grandson Father Rodney White and Father France Frye officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. She will be at St. Mary’s Church at 9:00 AM Monday for visitation.
Frankie was born in Waco, Texas on February 12, 1931 to Kyle and Vera (Stovall) Gray. She married James B. Rush May 25, 1947 and shared a beautiful 53 years. Frankie was a very active member in her church. She belonged to CWO and Knights of Columbus 4th degree women’s auxiliary. After retirement Frankie and James bought a home in Kingsland, Texas and were members of St. Charles. She loved the choir and always sang to the Lord’s greatness. Her family and church were her life. Frankie was a liver transplant recipient and survivor for 10 1/2 years. She was an advocate for all transplants, and urged all to think about them. Frankie never met a stranger and was a friend to all. She was devoted to her family and was always there for them. The love she gave was unconditional and given to all. She was called “Mom” by all her daughters friends and they were always introduced as her other daughters. She will be greatly missed by all and never forgotten. May the Lord bless you and hold you in his loving arms. We love you Mama and will always miss you.
She is preceded in death by her husband and her parents.
She is survived by three daughters Kathy Lane and husband Eddie, Debby Litz and husband Paul, Patty White and husband Ronnie all of Odessa; brother Eddie Kyle Gray and wife Eva of Kingsland; sister in law Cathy Giddens and husband Sam of Marble Falls; grandchildren Father Rodney White, James White and wife Melissa, Meagan White; great grandchildren Cody White and Mishala White and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services entrusted to Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.

Jack E. Thomas

Robert Lee 'Jack' E. Thomas, 76, of Lubbock, TX died Wednesday, March 8, 2006 at University Medical Center in Lubbock, TX.
Jack was born May 22, 1929 in Knox City, TX to ZB “Bud” and Katherine “Kitty” Thomas. He attended school in Amherst, TX and was active in sports. He served in the US Air Force during the Korean War. He moved to Gettysburg, SD in 1957 and farmed there until 1970 when he returned to Texas. From 1970 to 2005 his career was in the insurance business and real estate in Odessa and Lubbock, TX. He attended Lubbock Christian College and retired in Lubbock, TX.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by: sister: Ruby Rhea Swisher and brother-in-law WO of Lubbock, TX and niece Kathi of Austin, TX; daughters: Martha Alise Haymes and husband Tommy of Lubbock, TX and Shari Rhae Thomas of Odessa, TX; sons: Maurice Bud Thomas of Navarre, FL, Kenneth Randell Ahler of Santa Fe, NM and Richard G Ahler of Huffinan, TX; grandchildren: Tod Thomas of Navarre, FL, Carrie Elliot, Patricia “Tricia”, Rhonda and Randy Haymes all of Lubbock, TX, Dale Bookout of Spain, Jimmy Ahler of SC and Adam Ahler of Austin, TX; great-grandchildren: Jessica James of Lubbock, TX and one on the way; Aunt: Daisy Talley of San Angelo, TX and a host of cousins.
Graveside services were held March 11, 2006 in Robert Lee cemetery in Robert Lee, TX. Arrangements were by Johnson’s Funeral Home, 435 West Beauregard, San Angelo, TX.

George Michael Bean

Round Rock - George Michael Bean, 55, of Pflugerville, Texas ended his journey here with us on this earth and went on to be with his Heavenly Father 3-29-06. His passionate love of the Lord was known to anyone who came into contact with him. Michael never met a stranger, leaving a long trail of friends whom he loved, affecting many in ways that changed their lives forever.
He was born 12-13-1950 to John Henry & Doris Jo Bean in Odessa, Texas as the beloved baby boy with 1 older brother, Henry Dwayne of Wingate, Texas & 2 older sisters, Pamela Kay Pennington, & Delores Jo Buchanan of Odessa, Texas. Upon graduating from Permian High School in Odessa, he joined the Marine Corps where he learned the true meaning of Honor, Corps & Country. He proudly served his country for 8 years.
He leaves behind his wife of 34 years Lysa, daughter, Jacquelyn Jo Bean of Pflugerville, TX and son Michael Shawn Bean and his wife, Monica Terry of Boling, TX and his precious grandchildren, whom he adored, Liberty Blyss and London O’Shawn. He was “Uncle Bubba” to his four nieces & six nephews. He also leaves behind his beloved church family of Faith Baptist Church of Round Rock, Texas.
Preceding him in death were his Mom & Dad & sister Pamela Kay.
The family will be accepting visitors Saturday 5:00 – 7:00 at Cook Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville. Services will be held 2:00 Sunday afternoon at Faith Baptist Church 3625 Gattis School Road in Round Rock.

Gene Eckert

Midland - Gene Eckert, of Midland, Texas, died Friday, April 21 at Midland Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, April 26, 2006 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Chapel in Midland. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation with the family will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Tuesday, April 25, 2006 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory in Midland. He was born on August 1, 1951, in San Angelo, Texas to J.D. and Doris Eckert. He graduated from Odessa High in 1969 and attended Odessa College where he learned drafting and welding. He married Carole Myers in March, 1985. He worked for the Ortloff Corporation until September, 1985. He and Carole moved to Allen, TX. in July, 1986. It was there they started their own software company, ECAD, Inc. and lived until 1998 when they moved back to Midland. He and Carole worked to grow their company to ten offices in eight cities throughout Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana and Alabama.Gene loved his boat and water sports, golf, traveling and playing poker. He loved his business and never considered it a job. He considered his employees as family. Gene was devoted to his family, his little dog Blaize, and more than anything else, his loving wife Carole. She was the love of his life. They were partners in business but more importantly, partners in life.He was preceded in death by his father, J.D. Eckert of San Angelo, TX.Gene is survived by his wife, Carole; his children: Heath Eckert and wife, Diane of Odessa, TX; Chris Myers and wife Christen of Allen, TX; Stephanie Myers of Plano, Tx; Chane Eckert and wife Delma of Midland, TX; Shea Phelps and husband Jon of Odessa, TX; his mother, Doris Eckert of San Angelo, TX; and sister, Nikkii Key of San Angelo, TX. He has five grandsons and seven granddaughters with another granddaughter due in July; five nieces and nephews. He had passion for everything he did in life and was always the strength for his loved ones. He will be greatly missed. Willie B ‘Billie’ Jasper Nugent

Odessa - Willie B “Billie” Jasper Nugent, 91, passed peacefully on Saturday, April 22, 2006, in Midland, Texas.
She was born on January 22, 1915, in Cleveland, Texas, where she grew up. Mrs. Nugent graduated from high school in Cleveland and attended Stephen F. Austin in Nacogdoches, Texas. She was preceded in death by her brother, Talmadge Jasper, her father, Henry Seward Jasper, her mother, Irene Thomas Jasper and her husband, Lenville Coleman (Sonny) Nugent. Sonny and Billie were married in Levelland, Texas, on May 16, 1939. They complemented one another perfectly in marriage and enjoyed traveling both domestically and abroad, including several fascinating years spent in Libya. Billie was a genteel soul and delighted in maintaining a happy and orderly family life. She was a constant source of good cheer to her family and friends and a valuable member of her church and community. Her kind and generous spirit will be greatly missed by all.
Billie is survived by her sisters, Russie Bagley and Sylvia Louise Rhoden, her brother Henry Seward Jasper, Jr., her daughter, Barbara Scribner, and husband Bob, her son David Lynn Nugent and wife Ethyl Lynne, four grandsons, Kevin Scribner, Steve Scribner and wife, Lisa, David Scribner and Todd Nugent and wife, Tristan, and one granddaughter, Amy Green and husband, Brian. She is also survived by nine great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Graveside Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 26, 2006, at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Ronnie White officiating.

Carmon Mildred Hopkins Parker

Odessa - Carmon Mildred Hopkins Parker 86, of Odessa passed away Saturday, January 7, 2006 at her home in Odessa.
Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 pm Monday at Frank Wilson Funeral Directors. Funeral services will be 10:00 am Tuesday at First Christian Church with Dr. David Mindel officiating. Burial will follow in Andrews, Texas.
Born to Thomas Gordon Hopkins and Carmon Estelle Jones Hopkins on December 12, 1919 in Lamar County, Texas. She graduated from Honey Grove High School in 1937. She graduated Paris Jr. College in1939 and graduated from North Texas Teaching College (Denton, Texas) in 1942. Her graduate work was done at University of Texas in Austin, in 1943. She taught school in Lamar County, Midland and Ector.
Mildred married Alvin Horne Parker on June 2, 1946 in Paris, Texas at the First Baptist Church, but resided in Odessa, Texas. Here she raised three boys, Stephen Hopkins Parker, Timothy Horne Parker, and Jeffery Early Parker.
Mildred was a member of the First Christian Church and taught most ages in Sunday School, became a deaconess, and was President of the Christian Women’s Fellowship. She was on the building committees for the Chapel and Parlor additions in 1976.
She had been a member of TSTA Beta Sigma Phi, Jr. Service League, and Thursday Study Club.
She is preceded in death by her parents Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Hopkins, husband Alvin Horne Parker, and son Jeffrey Early Parker
She is survived by her sons Stephen H. Parker, wife Diane, and Timothy H. Parker, wife Cid. Grandchildren are Jarrett Parker, Alissa Parker, Jillian Parker, and Katelyn Parker, Sister, Gladys Reich of Odessa, Jimmie Crain of Paris, Texas and brother Fred Hopkins and wife Nell of Midland, Texas.
Memorial can be made to the ECISD Education Foundation, Ellen Noel Art Museum or Charity of Choice.
Services entrusted to Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.

William Elmer Owen

ODESSA — William Elmer Owen, 74, went home to be with the Lord on Friday March 10, 2000, at Seabury Nursing Home. He was born Jan. 22, 1926, on a farm outside Robert Lee to Babe and Dora Owen
His family moved to Ector County in 1938, and he graduated Odessa High School in 1944. He got a job with Arco as a swamper in 1945 and worked for the company for 40 years before retiring in 1985 as an engineering technician specialist.
After retiring, he liked to raise a spring garden, fish and work in his wood shop designing his own woodcrafts and giving each family member at least two of each thing he made.
His health failed in March of I998, and he moved to Seabury Nursing Home, where he loved to help with the other residents and anywhere else that he was needed. The staff there nicknamed him "Bill". He met a special friend, Arla Haney, and they spent hours together, listening to tapes, talking, going to the singings and ordering Mexican food. Aria went home to be with the Lord in February.
He was a member of Temple Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by his son, Jerry Alton Owen; brother, Lewis Owen; and his parents, Babe and Dora Owen.
He is survived by his daughters, Kelly Redding and husband, Brian, of Lampasas and Robin Owen and fiancé, Henry Ovalle, of Boston; three grandchildren, Kevin and Brandy Redding and Donovan Owen; two brothers, Billy Owen and wife, Elaine, of Odessa and Dean Owen and wife, Lee, of Marysville, Wash.; two sisters, Carrie Spears and Jean Welch of Odessa.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, March 13, 2000, at Sunset Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Jimmy Braswell officiating. Arrangements by Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.
