Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 10, 2006, at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home with Hospice Chaplain Emmett Barnard officiating.
Glen was born August 31, 1939, in Mineral Wells, TX, to William and Mildred Perkins. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sue and son, Ray.
He married
Dorothy Cozens on January 17, 2006. He was a loving son, husband, father, and grandfather.
Glen and Sue were marred November 15, 1956, and were married
48 years before her death. They had three children, Phylis, Stephen, and Ray.
Glen worked in the radiator business and heavy equipment repair business for many years and will be missed by all those who knew and worked with him. Glen made many friends and it seemed like he knew everyone. As children, we couldn’t do anything without someone seeing us and telling Glen what we had been up to.
Lately, his favorite pastime had been going to Lake Brownwood and sitting on the porch and enjoying the sun and the lake. He was always in his golf cart going around and visiting the many friends he had made there. He once said, “This is worth all the cold and hard mornings that I had to get up.”
Glen is survived by his wife, Dorothy of Odessa, daughter, Phylis Solomon and husband, Richard of Odessa, son, Steve Perkins and wife, Patricia of Kentucky, and seven grandchildren, Amanda, Sean, Jaime, Cheyanne, Trevor, Jonathon, and Kaiia. Pappy will be missed by these grandchildren.
The family requests no flowers, but donations to Hospice House, as this was Glen’s wish. The family would like to thank Hospice House and Home Hospice for all their help in this difficult time. We would like to thank the many friends who came by and visited and offered to help us during this time. There is not enough space or words to tell you how much this meant to Glen. Glen truly enjoyed his time with Billy Owens and their talks of the “old days” as old pipeliners. He liked passing out his caps with the saying “Nothing Finer Than An Old Pipeliner.”
Special thanks to Dorothy for all she did in their brief time to keep Pappy comfortable and happy and for always being there; he loved and appreciated it all, and spoke often of wishing he had more time with her.
God Bless you and we love and miss you.
Services entrusted to Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
