Andrews - Jo Beatrice Craft, 98, died Thursday, April 6, 2006 in Allen, TX at Victoria Gardens.
Jo Beatrice “Bea” Craft was born in Barstow, Texas to Lela Alice and Curtis Fulcher. She married
Jesse I. Craft in Carlsbad, New Mexico in 1925. The family moved to Iowa Park to Wink and then to Odessa in 1938and to Andrews in 1960. Mrs. Craft was a member of the Means Memorial United Methodist Church where she was active in the United Methodist Women and sang in the church choir for many years. Mrs. Craft was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Jesse, 4 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild. She is survived by her children Ellis I. Craft and wife Peggy of Andrews, Roy Craft and wife Alta of Bay City, J. Joe Craft and wife Jane of Denver, Colorado, and Kay Craft Jefferys of Plano. Mrs. Craft is also survived by her grandchildren; Kathy Toles of Fort Worth, Leslie Clark of Andrews, Judy K. Rendon of Houston, John David Craft of Point Blank, Steven Craft of South Carolina, Jesse Craft of Georgia, Patti Craft of Bay City, Kim Macklin of Denver, Lyndi Schlueter of Parker, Loxi McCart Lewis of Plano, her niece Jackie Hess of Roswell, New Mexico and nephew Dane Crews of Humble, 17 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral arrangements will be made Sunset Memorial Funeral Home of Odessa. Funeral services are planned for Monday, April 10, 2006 at 2:00 pm at Means Memorial United Methodist Church of Andrews. Services will be officiated by Rick Doyle, pastor. There will be a visitation all day Sunday at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home in Odessa.
A. Dale ‘Speedy’ Sullivan
Kermit - Audrey Dale “Speedy” Sullivan, age 66, passed away Wednesday, April 12, 2006 at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa, TX. He was born Monday, December 4, 1939 in Norman, OK to Frank and Inis (Williams) Sullivan. He graduated from Odessa High School in 1958 and had been a Kermit resident for almost 50 years. He was a contract pumper, who had retired from Oryx Oil in 1994. He was a hard worker who seemed to think that the oilfield couldn’t run without him. He married
Bonnie Lea (Riggs) Awbrey in May of 1999. Dale was a loving husband who always put his wife first. He was a devoted “Pa-Pa” who thoroughly loved his grandchildren. He was an avid sports fan with a large baseball cap collection. Talking sports with his grandsons was a favorite pastime He was a member of the Church of Christ in Wink. Those he’s left behind will dearly miss him, but we are comforted knowing that he is in the arms of the Lord.
Those left to cherish Speedy’s memory include his wife, Bonnie Sullivan; four sons: Michael Sullivan of Kermit, Calvin Levis Awbrey of Kermit, Jimmy Shane Awbrey of Wichita Falls, TX, and Brian Edmond Awbrey of Kermit; one brother: Johnny Sullivan of Odessa, TX; four sisters: Carolyn Harrison of Kermit, Norma Davis of Odessa, TX, Joyce Barrett of Carthage, TX, and Frankie Davis of College Station, TX; and nine grandchildren: Ashley, Austin, Brayden, Isaac, Jesse, Devin, Jaden, Taylor, and Andrew.
One sister, Barbara Cargal, preceded him in death.
Services to honor his memory will be held 2:00 pm Monday, April 17 at Eastside Church of Christ in Kermit officiated by Brothers Brian McGonagill and Tommy Williamson. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Ballard, Gene Mitchell, John Mixon, Benny Sullivan, Benny Carrasco, and Don Kapka. Honorary Pallbearers will include Michael Sullivan, James Harrison, Levis Awbrey, Jimmy Awbrey, and Brian Awbrey. Interment will follow at Kermit cemetery. The family requests that memorials be made to Wink Church of Christ PO Box 536 Wink, TX 79789.

Adelaide Lou Calahan
Odessa - Adelaide Lou Calahan 81 of Norman, OK passed away, April 13, 2006 at Avalon Place in Odessa. She was born February 19, 1925 in Houston, Texas to parents John Whaley Ralph and Velma Amen Allen Ralph. She was a teacher.

Billy Wayne Miles
Odessa - Billy Wayne Miles, 60, of Odessa was taken home to be with his maker on Thursday, April 13, 2006. He was born January 13, 1946 in Shreveport, LA.
We seem to always hope that we will live beyond our times, but this day was Billy’s day. In our sadness we will celebrate his painless days ahead of him. His sister, JoAnn McBride of Odessa will miss him.
He is also survived by two sons, Terry Dale Miles, Jimmy Wayne Miles, daughter, Mary Ann Hilton, (3) nieces, Tina Delaine South, Dina Raylene Braden, and Jessica Jo Thomason and a dear friend Mary Groves and (7) grandchildren.
Tho our minds mourn, our hearts rejoice for his new journey. We love you always.

Alice Elizabeth Gibson
Odessa - Alice Elizabeth Gibson, 74, of Odessa passed away Thursday, April 13, 2006 at Medical Center Hospital. She was born December 11, 1931 in Philadelphia, PA.
Alice moved to Odessa in 1966 from Philadelphia. She worked for Walmart since its beginning. She attended St. Andrews Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, J. W. & Dorothy Pyfer, and husband, Robert Gibson.
She is survived by her son, Robert Gibson of Los Angeles, CA., daughters, Elizabeth Hollingsworth & husband Jerry of Abilene, Linda Bryce, Joanne Shipman & husband Sammy all of Odessa, brother, Frank Pyfer of Philadelphia, sister, Florence Birch of Warminster, PA., (2) grandchildren, Jennifer & Joseph Hollingsworth.
There will be a visitation 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

Clarence Earl Robinson
Midland - Clarence Earl Robinson, of Midland, passed away Wednesday, April 12, 2006 in Corpus Christi, Texas.
He was born December 4, 1916 in Big Spring, Texas to Nettie and Benjamin Robinson. A veteran of World War II, 1943-1946, Earl proudly served his country as a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Army, 7th Division, 13th Engineers. He participated with invading U.S. forces in the liberation of Leiti and Okinawa in the Philippines and was the recipient of two Purple Hearts.
Earl was a hard working man and a master carpenter. He was foreman for several constructions companies in Midland before retiring in 1984. He was very proud of the homes and buildings he helped create. Strong willed and able bodied, there was very little he couldn’t accomplish in his healthier years. He loved his family and friends and tended to his parents, aunts and uncles.
Earl will be remembered for his kindness and love to family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife, Lorene, brother, J. L. Robinson, and sisters, Louise Tumbleson and Lorraine Smith.
Earl is survived by his sons, Bill Robinson of Albany, GA; Ed Robinson of Corpus Christi, TX; and daughter, Glenda Eisenwine of Corpus Christi, TX; grandson, James Robinson, and granddaughters, Laura Robinson and Keena Peek; two great-grandsons; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at Ellis Funeral Home, Monday, April 17, 2006 between the hours of 6:00 P.M. and 8:00 P.M.

Janis Griffin
Odessa - Janis Griffin, a 50-year resident of Odessa, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 15, 2006, after a short battle with cancer.
Janis was married
to Wayne Griffin for 46 years. Wayne preceded her in death in 1990. She is survived by a daughter, Jan Brown of Gulf Breeze, FL; a son, Gerry Griffin of Houston, TX; nephew Dick Saulsbury of Odessa; granddaughters, Misty Page and Mandy White of the Dallas area, as well as grandsons, Lance and Drew Griffin of Austin, and numerous nieces, nephews, and great-grandchildren. A sister, Glynn Givens, recently moved to Odessa from LouAnn, AR, and another sister, Katheryn Box passed away in 2005, and her brother J. R. Ratliff, died in 2001.
Mrs. Griffin was a faithful member of Mission Dorado Baptist Church in Odessa where she had many loving friends in Christ. She took great pleasure in serving the Lord and was a steady guide to her family.
Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, April 17, 2006, at Mission Dorado Baptist Church with the Reverend Bob Bratcher officiating.

Ezequiel ‘Zeke’ Abrego Rodriguez
Odessa - Ezequiel “Zeke” Abrego Rodriguez, 51, of Odessa, passed away Tuesday April 11, 2006, in Dallas, Texas.
He was born on April 10, 1955 in San Francisco Del Oro, Parral Chihuahua. He came to the United States and stayed a lifetime. He worked in the heating and air conditioning business for several years and loved his field of work. Although he was not a native Texan he was a Texan at heart and had a thorough knowledge of the history of the State. Most of all he loved his family.
He is survived by his wife Sandy Kelly of 11 years; his daughters, Yvonne and her husband Alex Quezada and their children Jovi and Jett all of Midland, Yvette Rodriguez and her child Aiyani Torres of Odessa, and Jessica and her husband Edgar Arambula and their child Ivan of Odessa; his mother Fadire Rodriguez of Ojinaga, Mexico; one brother, Antonio Abrego Rodriguez of Chihuahua, Mexico; three sisters, Bertha Alicia A. Adame of Odessa, Margie Gomez of Houston and Xotzchil Rodriguez of Odessa.
He is preceded in death by his father, Jesus Abrego Rodriguez.
A mass will be held at 10:00 am Monday, April 17, 2006, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with father Joe Uecker officiating.
The daughters would like to thank family and friends that kept him in their prayers. He was a kind man and will be missed by family and friends.
Karen Sue Lummus
Odessa - Karen Sue Lummus, age, 59, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 13, 2006.
Sue was born on April 18, 1946, to Norman and Nan Price in Pasadena, TX. She graduated from Ector High School in 1965. She was raised in Odessa, and also worked in Odessa until 1992.
She was loved and cherished by all who knew her. All of her family and friends will miss her.
Her parents preceded her in death.
Survivors include her step-mother, June Price of Ruidoso, NM; two sons, Danny Lummus and wife, LeAnn of Springtown, TX, and Michael Lummus of Alvarado, TX; sister, Nancy Gilbert of Alvarado, TX; step-brother, Randy Morrison of Greenville, TX; five grandchildren, one great-grandchild, many nieces and nephews, and numerous friends.
There will be a family visitation from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, April 17, 2006, at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 18, 2006, at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Dolores Thompson
O’Donnell - Dolores Thompson, 78, of Andrews passed away Friday April 14, 2006 at Permian Residential Care Center in Andrews.
Funeral Services will be 4:00 PM Monday April 17, 2006 at Andrews Church of Christ. Mark Wilson, Pulpit Minister of Andrews Church of Christ and David McNutt of Lubbock, Texas will officiate.
Graveside services will be 7:00 PM Monday at O’Donnell cemetery in O’Donnell, Texas under the direction of McNett Funeral Home of Andrews.
The family will receive friends Monday from 1-2 PM at McNett Funeral Home.
Dolores was born August 13, 1927 in O’Donnell. She graduated from O’Donnell High School in 1945. She moved to Andrews in 1953 to work for Carl Betenbough’s phone company. In 1957 she went to work as Dispatcher for the Andrews County Sheriff’s Department. She retired in 1989 after 32 years of service. Her time covered 3 decades of Andrews’s life; 4 Sheriffs, Countless Deputies and hundreds of other county employees.
Dolores also loved to fish, and play 42 with her family. She loved her Church, Music, her Family and the people of Andrews.
She is survived by: Two Brothers - Larry Thompson of Lubbock; and Wally Thompson of O’Donnell One Sister - Jane Blackwell of Midland; Nephews - Danny Hale, Scotty Thompson, and Stacey Blackwell; Nieces - Michael Ann Brewer, Kim Conley, Twyla Doty, Carlene Shaw, Donna Bashrum, and Karen Sue Casey; and several Great Nieces and Nephews and one Great-Great Niece; she also is survived by many Cousins who were close to her.
