Arby Cleo Henson
Odessa - Arby Cleo Henson, 93, a long time resident of Odessa passed away Thursday, February 2, 2006 at Seabury Nursing Home. She was born October 29, 1912 in Floresville, TX. She lived in the Rio Grande Valley from age 3 to the age of 17. She finished school in San Benito and moved to Odessa in 1936. She was a homemaker and a member of the Order of Eastern Star #447. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church since 1942.
She married
James Nuel Henson on June 26, 1939. He preceded her in death in 1985. She was also preceded in death by her daughter Cleo Taylor.
She is survived by her son, Carl Hardy Armstrong of Olton, TX., daughter, Lillie Faye Kennedy of Brady, brothers, Bobby Stevens of Hawley, TX, Ellis Stevens of Hamilton, TX, sisters, Delma Woodruff of Odessa, Ila Mae McCain of Beeville, TX., (8) grandchildren, (19) great-grandchildren & (12) great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 6, 2006 at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Braswell officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Robert Jaye ‘Robby’ Allen
July 2, 1940 – Jan. 30, 2006
Odessa - At 3:45 a.m. January 30, 2006, Robert “ROBBY” Jaye Allen went to be with his Savior, Jesus Christ, after a valiant 2 ½ year battle with malignant, metastatic melanoma. Robby was born July 2, 1940, in Roscoe, TX, to A. J. and Kathryne Allen, both of whom preceded him in death. He was raised in Big Spring, TX, where he graduated from Big Spring High School in May, 1958. He served in the US Army from 1963 to 1971, stationed in Berlin, Germany, as a Russian linguist. Upon returning to the USA, he was assigned to Fort Meade, Maryland. He earned a BA in History from the University of Maryland in May, 1973. Upon his discharge from the military, Robby returned to Big Spring to resume his career with the then Texas & Pacific Railroad.
Robby was an active member of the First Christian Church – Disciples of Christ, in Big Spring, where he served as church treasurer and a deacon. He was an avid bicyclist and volleyball player and fan, as well as an ever-faithful Dallas Cowboys football fan. In January 2002, he retired from the Union Pacific Railroad in Odessa where he resided until December 2002, at which time he moved to Midland where he resided until his death.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Bronwyn Allen and her life partner, Monette Wise, of Seattle, WA; his son, Jance Allen, of San Francisco, CA; his sister and brother-in-law, Sheila “SAM” and Joe Matlock, of Midland; nephew and wife, Benny and Candy Matlock, niece and husband, Katrina and Rory McKinney, all of Midland; and nephew, Kevin Matlock, of Andrews, TX; also four great nephews, three great nieces and one great-great niece. Robby is also survived by his aunt and uncle, “Friskie” and Charlie Aiken of Colorado Springs, CO; aunt and uncle, Nina and George Overby of Trinity, TX; and aunt, Jessie Marth of Roscoe, TX; as well as numerous cousins.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Sheldon Viney and staff of Midland Surgical Associates; Dr. Bruce Mickey and staff of Southwestern Medical Center, Dallas, TX; Dr. David Watkins, Rachel and Shauna, Emma Sarckees, all the staff and Auxiliary at Allison Cancer Center; Dr. Don McLarey and staff of Home Hospice and Hospice House, Odessa, TX; and Robby’s special “sitters” Pastor Tony Perez and Rocio Mendoza – for all their care, concern and love.
In accordance with Robby’s wishes, there will be no services. To support his desire to further higher education, his body has been donated to Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center.

Barbara J ‘Bobbie’ Gruntorad
Chandler, Ariz. - Barbara J ‘Bobbie’ Gruntorad of Odessa, Texas went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, January 28th, 2006. Born August 7, 1932 and born again September of 1997 with her husband before he died in October 1997 of Leukemia.
She is survived by 4 children; Larry Perry and his wife Bobbie of Phoenix, Arizona, Sharon Lee and her husband Jimmy & Perry Wilson and his wife Chela of El Paso, Texas & Debbie Boatright and her husband David of Odessa, Texas, 16 grandchildren, 16 great-grand children, two sisters, Shirley Blakely and her husband Shot of Roswell, New Mexico and Verna Blankenship and her husband Paul of La Luz, New Mexico and a brother Jerry France and his wife Linda of Roswell, New Mexico.
She was preceded in death by her husband and the love of her life, Joseph Gruntorad of Chandler, Arizona and her father Jerome and mother Jeffie France of La Luz, New Mexico. She was laid to rest in Chandler, Arizona next to her husband on Wednesday February 1, 2006. The service was officiated by her son Perry Wilson.

June Cochran
ODESSA - June Cochran, 57, of Odessa, passed away Sunday, March 12, 2006, at Medical Center Hospital.
She was born August 12, 1948 in Dallas, Georgia.
She retired as a school teacher from ECISD. She a current teacher at St. Mary’s Central Catholic School, where she was a 2006 National Teacher’s “Who’s Who” nominee.
She was a loving wife, mother, friend and mentor.
She is survived by her husband, Ross Cochran of Odessa; sons, Keith Bommersbach and Craig Bommersbach, both of Odessa; sister, Sarah Brock of Dallas; three grandchildren, Garrett, Bryce and Hyden; and a special friend, Deidre Dorough of Austin.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 15, 2006, at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel.
Graveside services will be held 3 p.m. Wednesday at the Mount Vale cemetery in Sterling City.

Bobby Dale Smith
Coleman - Mr. Bobby Dale Smith, age 70 of Coleman, passed away March 11, 2006 in the Abilene Regional Hospital. Son of the late Ivey Lee and Irene Lewis Smith, he was born May 2, 1935 in Kilgore, Texas.
He married
the late Miss Charlotte M. Cox on July 25, 1957 in Kermit, Texas. She preceded him in death in 1999.
Bobby had lived in Kermit for eight years from 1957 to 1965. In ’65 Bobby moved to Sundown, TX where he lived for thirteen years. Then he returned to Kermit until 1995 when he moved to Coleman. He was employed thirty-four years by Bass Enterprises Production Company retiring from that company in 1991. Bobby worked for Arch Petroleum from November 1991 to 1995. He worked five more years for HL Riche Oil & Gas before he retired.
He is survived by; one daughter, Sheryl Lynn Smith Wright of Kermit; three sons, Phillip Wayne Smith of Midland, Stephen DeWayne Smith of Grapevine, and Robert Dale Smith of Bowie; two sisters, Dorothy Rackley of Novice, and Sharon Kay Richey of Ozark, Arkansas. Also surviving are thirteen grandchildren; Justin K. Smith, Jessica D. Smith, Stacy D. Smith, Derek S. Smith, Katie A. Wright, Jenna E. Wright, Jerrod R. Smith, Brandi L. Mayes, Jason M. Singleton, Nikkie L. Singleton, Dustin L. Henderson, Kassie D. Wright, and Kristin M. Wright; four great-grandchildren, Dylan Gage Singleton, Jay Leigh Brianne Ditto, Janeen Michael Singleton, and Bailey Dawn Carter.

Beatrice Marie Baze Pipes
May 16, 1933 ~ March 12, 2006
Grandview - Services for Beatrice Marie Baze Pipes, 72 of Bryan are set for 2 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church in Grandview. Burial will be at Grandview City cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Hillier Funeral Home, and from 12 to 1:30 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church in Grandview, Tx.
Mrs. Pipes died Sunday at her residence. She was a retired bookkeeper.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Tommy and Rene Pipes of Odessa, Jerry and Debra Pipes of Lawrenceville, Ga.; two daughters, Debbie Pipes of Bryan, and Patricia Goss of College Station; a sister, Helen McNatt of Rio Vista; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
G. T. Warren
Odessa - G. T. Warren, 87, of Odessa passed away Thursday, March 9th, 2006 at his residence.
He was born on September 8th, 1918 in Eula, Texas to Grace Howell and M. S. Warren.
During his early years, G. T. Worked for Wasson Clothing, Lincks Foods and Cash Wholesale in Big Spring, Texas. He moved to San Diego, California in 1941 and worked on B-24 bombers for Consolidated Vultee Aircraft Corporation. He married
Marie Beasley, his high school sweetheart, in Yuma, Arizona on December 7th, 1941. They were blessed with a beautiful daughter, Lynda, in February of 1944.
G. T. entered the U. S. Army in September of 1944. He was assigned to the 7th Army, 3rd Infantry Division as a machine gunner and fought throughout France, Germany and Austria. He was wounded at the Comar Pocket in France and received numerous awards before returning to Abilene, Texas in 1947.
They were blessed with a second child, Terry in 1948 while G. T. worked for West Texas Wholesale Supply as a warehouse manager. In 1952, they moved to Odessa and G. T. continued to work as a sales representative in the West Texas and New Mexico territory. In 1978 G. T. and Marie moved to Ruidoso, New Mexico. He retired in 1988. They moved back to Odessa to be near their kids and families in 2002.
Preceding him in death are his parents; brothers, Carlos and Curtis and sisters Estaleen Rice and Leta Metcalf.
G. T. is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Marie; daughters, Lynda Fournier and husband Jacques of Palm Beach, Florida; son, Terry Warren and wife Phillis of Odessa; grandchildren, Melissa Warren Weaver and husband Lance of Lubbock, Texas, and Russell Warren of Odessa, Texas; great-granddaughter, Amie Weaver; brothers, Dr. Charles Warren and wife Shirley of Big Spring, Texas and Billy Warren of Dallas, Texas; sister, Wanda Erickson of Big Spring, Texas and numerous nieces and nephews and special dog - Max.
The family wants to thank Dr. Patel, RN Jennifer, charge nurse Susanne at Alliance Hospital and Rhonda, Kendra and Johnnie with Odyssey.
A private ceremony for the family will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Odessa, Texas.
David Arnold Pluff
Carrollton - Pluff, David Arnold, born Dec. 5, 1944 in Kansas City, MO, died on Sunday, March 12, 2006 at his home in Irving, TX. Mr. Pluff was a Veteran of the Vietnam War and a business owner in the oil and gas industry in Odessa for over a decade. He is survived by mother Mildred; Mary, and their three children - John, Karen, and Amy. Visitation will be from 6-8PM in Rhoton Funeral Home Wednesday, March 15, 2006. Funeral services will be held at Mary Immaculate Catholic Church in Farmers Branch, TX at 12 PM on Thursday, March 16, 2006. Interment to follow at 2 PM, Lane A in the Dallas/Fort Worth National cemetery.
Glenn Dale Patton Sr.
November 3, 1944 – January 7, 2006
Austin - Glenn passed away on January 7, 2006. He was born in Eastland, Texas on November 3, 1944 to Carl and Vera Patton. Glenn married
the love of his life, Gloria, on May 4, 1965.
Glenn will be remembered as a loving husband, brother, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Vera Patton, and sisters Mildred Lewis and Betty McSpadden.
Those left to cherish his memory are, his loving wife of 40 years, Gloria; daughter, Millie Scherbek and husband Nathan; son, Dale Patton and fiancé’ Laura Valdez; daughter, Melinda Swenson; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sisters: Ernal Jenkins of Anadarko, OK; Neva Rogers of Odessa, TX; Liz Ballard and husband, Butch of Fort Worth, TX; brother: Carl Dave Patton, Jr. and wife, Maria of Everman, TX; and a large extended family.
No words can describe this loving and generous man. Glenn gave his all and always had a kind word and a smile that would light up a room. His wife was his life, and his children were his joy. Glenn was so much, to so many that his passing will affect us all.
Glenn’s life work was his own business “Unique Mobile Home Transport” for over 20 years. His life-long passion was singer, songwriter, and musician of gospel music.
He has now gone on to be with the Lord, to watch over us from above.
The family will receive guests for visitation on Tuesday, January 10th, 2006 from 6:00pm – 8:00pm at Harrell Funeral Home, 4435 Frontier Trail, in Austin, TX. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 11th at 2:00pm at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Live Oak cemetery in Manchaca, TX.
Gaylord M. Worley
Midland - Gaylord Morgan Worley, of Midland, passed away Saturday, January 7, 2006.
He was born May 18, 1918 to Henry Bryan Worley and Bessie Olean Behymer in Fairfield, Illinois, where he was raised and educated. In 1938, he married
Madeline Medler in Kentucky. The couple moved to Odessa, Texas in 1943. Prior to his retirement, Gaylord worked for Sharp Drilling in Midland for 25 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.
Gaylord is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Sandra Worley of The Colony, TX; grandchildren, Melissa Worley McIntosh of Midland, TX; Mark Worley of Odessa, TX; Julie Vicha of Corpus Christi, TX; Robin Tausch of El Paso, TX; James Riley of Denver, CO; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Robert Lee Worley of Abilene, TX; and Thomas Earl Worley of Sycamore, IL; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Monday, January 9, 2006 at Ellis Funeral Home Chapel. Interment followed at Resthaven Memorial Park in Midland.
