Mollie Wade Price
1910-2006
Odessa - Our Mother and Grandmother fought a hard battle, she won the victory, and has gone to her Heavenly home to be with her Heavenly Father, God, and her loved ones that have gone before, what a reunion that will be! She passed away February 16, 2006 at Odessa Hospice.
Mollie Wade Price was born March 16, 1910 to P.W. (Uncle Pal) and Lilla Martin in Whiteflat, Texas where she also graduated from high school. She accepted Christ as her Savior as a young girl. Mrs. Price was a member of Temple Baptist Church since 1967.
She married
Bunyan Sterling Price November 3, 1934. He preceded her in death on December 23, 1971.
Mollie came to Andrews County in 1955 and moved to Andrews in 1957 where she started a career in childcare for the public. She later moved to Odessa in 1967 where she continued childcare until her late 80’s in her home at 1910 N. Hancock. She touched the lives of many children and babies. It was usual to see her in the chair with three or four on her lap rocking. Every morning when it came time for the little ones to come to Price’s house, they were ready because she had plenty of love for them all. Even working hard, she was ready to do for her children and grandchildren. She was always there for her family.
Preceding her in death are her husband, parents, five sisters, three brothers, a grandson, and a great grandson.
Mrs. Price is survived by her daughter Mildred and Odell Arnold, Stratford; daughter Wilma and Oliver Goldston, Lake Brownwood; son Melvin and Lou Ann Price, Odessa; and son Jerry and Susan Price, Denton. Grandchildren are Donny and Janice Arnold, Judy Gretz, Debbie and Gerald McDaniel, Ronnie and Dena Arnold, Terry and Mike Elder, Matt Goldston, Kelly Goldston, Rick and Connie Price, Mike and Tammy Price, Lori and Terry Wilkerson, Brian and Dana Price, and Kristie and Jave Tan. Twenty eight great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Saturday in the Temple Baptist Church Chapel with Rev. Kyle Rodgers officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Grandsons will be pallbearers.

Mattie Lou Terry
Odessa - Mattie Lou Terry, 79, of Odessa passed away Wednesday, February 15, 2006 at Medical Center Hospital. She was born September 26, 1926 in Waldron, Arkansas to William & Lillie Richmond. She had worked as a clerk for Frost Bakery for 14 years. She was a member of Terrace Hills Church Of Christ.
She married
Melvin Delbert Terry September 7, 1945 in Stinnett, TX. He preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her son, Billy F. Terry, Sr. and grandson, Sammy E. Terry.
She is survived by her son, Melvin Terry, Jr. of San Angelo, brother, Donald Richmond of Oklahoma, sisters, Cindy McCain of Graham, Mary Bates of Burkburnett, (4) grandchildren & (6) great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, February 17, 2006 at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home with Rev. Teddy Short officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Mary Frances Baker
Odessa - Mary Frances Baker, 81, of Odessa passed away Wednesday, January 11, 2006 in Dallas. She was born August 17, 1924 in Dumas, Arkansas. She graduated from S.M.U. in 1947.
Mary Frances never met a stranger and her southern charm and beauty and humble graciousness filled the hearts of all who knew her and she was loved by all that met her. She enjoyed playing bridge, making people laugh and bringing comfort and love to her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. & Mrs. R.A. Adcock, and brother, Loral Adcock.
She is survived by her husband, James L. Baker of Odessa, (4) children, Carol Carson of Boulder Creek, CA., Bobby Carson of Lakeway, TX., Diane Carson of Dallas, Billy Carson of Odessa, brother, Robert Adcock, of McGehee, AR., grandchildren, Chris Carson of Houston, Caren Bailey of Round Rock, Adam Carson of Arlington & Whitney Carson of Odessa, and many close relatives from Arkansas and Texas.
Though we grieve her loss we thank God for every minute we were able to spend with her.
A Memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 14, 2006 at the First United Methodist Church.

Floyd Jefferson Griffith
Big Spring - Floyd Jefferson Griffith, 82, of Odessa, passed away Wednesday, January 11, 2006, at Avalon Nursing Home.
He was born October 27, 1923 in DeLeon, Texas. He was a veteran of the Army Air Force serving in WWII; he was the Top Turret Gunner of the B-17 flying 30 missions over Germany and was stationed in England in the 8th Air Force. After the service, he worked and retired after 40 years for Shell Pipeline. He was a graduate of Forsan High School in 1941 and lived in Odessa the past 20 years. He married
his wife, Hollis James Gilmore November 27, 1942 in Big Spring, Tx.
Mr. Griffith is survived by his wife, Hollis James Griffith of Odessa; daughter, Cathy Bohannon & husband Wayne of Odessa; son, Jeff Griffith & wife Sandy of Odessa; four sisters, Wanda Brown of Denver, Co., Johnita Guthrey of Dallas, Tx., Gaye Legana & husband Paul of Las Vegas, Nv., and Saundra Thornlure & husband Charles of Pocola, Ok. He is also survived by six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
There will be a service at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 14, 2006, at Peace Chapel in Trinity Memorial Park. Intermittent will follow at Trinity Memorial Park in Big Spring with the Rev. Tommy Gilmore officiating.
Honorary pallbearers will be his grandchildren.

Nancy Marlene ‘Molly’ Mitchell
Childress - Funeral services for Nancy Marlene “Molly” Mitchell, 74, are set for 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan 14, at First Baptist Church of Childress with the Rev. Norman Rushing, pastor, officiating.
Mrs. Mitchell died today in Lubbock. Burial will be in Childress cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.
Born October 30, 1931, in Childress County, the former Nancy Marlene Kindle and Dick Mitchell were married
Feb. 2, 1951. She was a homemaker and worked as a telephone operator, also for Gate City Electric Coop and at Fox Clinic.
Mrs. Mitchell was very optimistic, enjoyed her friends and dearly loved her children and grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her — especially family. She was a Christian, a devoted member of First Baptist Church of Childress and was devoted to her Bible.
Survivors are her husband, Dick Mitchell, of Childress; a daughter, Pamela Ann and husband, Ronnie Smothermon, of Odessa; a son, Richie and wife, Raydella, Mitchell of Borger; six grandchildren, Chace and wife, Shawntae, Mitchell, Steven Mitchell, Bobby Mitchell, Mandy Mitchell, Chad Smothermon, Amy and husband, Sandy, McCarty; two great-grandchildren, Kalee McCarty and Chace Deshawn Mitchell; two sisters, Alma Lee Masterson of Amarillo, Nell and husband, Woody, McGhee of Huntsville; four brothers, Stan Kindle and wife, Barbara, of Frankford, Texas, Wendle Kindle and wife, Frances, Mike Kindle and Ronnie Kindle, all of Amarillo.
Raul Jimenez Prieto
Odessa - Raul Jimenez Prieto, 79, passed away at Hospice House in Odessa, on Tuesday, January 10, 2006. He was born December 23, 1926 in Hutto, Texas to Gregorio and Petra Prieto.
Mr. Prieto served in the Army in World War II from 1945 to 1949 and returned to Del Rio, Texas where he met and married
Maria Jimenez.
He is preceded in death by his wife Maria Prieto of 56 years who passed away May 17, 2005; and two infant daughters; his parents Gregorio and Petra Prieto; and five brothers, Ernesto, Elias, Daniel, Alfredo and Antonio Prieto.
Mr. Prieto is survived by three sons, Raul Prieto of Odessa, Ruben Sr. and wife Eustolia Prieto of Odessa and Richard Prieto of Odessa; one sister, Paula Moreno of Wheatridge, Colorado; grandchildren, Jeff and wife Erica Prieto of Odessa, Kristel Prieto of Odessa and Ruben and wife Gloria of Goldsboro, North Carolina; great granchildren, Chris Martinez, Ana Martinez, Jaclyn Cruz, Elisa Prieto, Marc Anthony Prieto, Isabella Bolton and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial Services will be on Saturday, January 14 at 11:00 a.m. at Martinez-Smith Funeral Chapels. Gravesite services will be at Rosehill cemetery.

Rodulfo (Rudy) Antonio Rivera
Plano - Rudy Rivera went to be with the Lord on Saturday December 31, 2005. He died peacefully in his sleep at home in Plano, Texas.
There will be no services and his body will be cremated and his ashes will be sent to Puerto Rico.
Rudy was born April 13, 1923 in Barcenoleta, Puerto Rico to Felix and Amparo Rivera, who preceded him in death. He served in the Army Air Corps during WWII in the Pacific with the 380th bomber group. After his service he moved to Tulsa, OK to get his degree in Petroleum Engineering at the University of OK at Tulsa. There he met Mary Elizabeth Bohn and married
. Their marriage lasted 58 years.
He was employed by Gulf Oil Corp. from March 1953 to April 1974. During this period he held the following positions: Section Head, Staff Senior Engineer, Senior Drilling and Production Engineer, Production Superintendent, Petroleum Engineer A, Reservoir Engineer and Field Engineer. After retiring from Gulf Oil he was Manager of Ecuadorian Operations for JOC Oil Exploration Co. Inc., Manager of Midland District for JOC Oil Exploration Co. Inc., President of R-W & Associates Inc. – Petroleum Consultants.
As a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle, friend and co-worker he touched many lives with his kindness. Rudy, his wife and 5 boys lived in Odessa from 1964 – 1974. He will be remembered by his wife of 58 years, Mary Rivera; son Rudy Lee Rivera, MD of Plano, TX, son John Carl River, O.D. and his wife Barbara of Plano TX, son Robert Charles Rivera, RTR and his wife Marie of Odessa TX, Edward Anthony Rivera and his wife Stephanie of Odessa TX, Richard Thomas Rivera and his wife Terri of Dallas, TX and 11 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Other survivors include his niece Rosa Blanca Pintor and her husband Raul and two children Rosita and Sarita of San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Robert Heatly Wilson, Jr.
Midland - Robert Heatly “Bob” Wilson, Jr., passed away unexpectedly on Monday, January 9, 2006.
He was born May 11, 1954 to Robert Heatly Wilson, Sr., and Jean Hughes Wilson in Midland, and had been a life long resident. After graduating from Lee High School in 1972, Bob attended Schreiner College in Kerrville where he received an associate degree in 1974. He received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Houston in 1976. Bob was a Technical Service Representative with Champion Chemical. He was an avid sportsman. His interests included the local Harley Davidson Motor Cycle Club, hunting, bass and fly fishing. Bob was an accomplished land and underwater photographer and an ardent worldwide scuba diver. He learned to scuba dive at the Midland YMCA at the age of 16, and was a certified Master Diver. Bob’s memberships included the Midland-Odessa H.O.G. Chapter, Texas State Rifle Association, and he was a lifetime member of the NRA.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Dr. Howard H. Wilson.
Bob is survived by his brother, Richard D. Wilson of Midland, TX; sister, Martha “Molly” W. Chapman and husband, Buddy, and their children, Mike and Jeanette Bunch, all of Burleson, TX; uncles, Charles Harris of Odessa, TX; R.V. Hughes and wife, Donna, of Irving, TX; Paul Ray Hughes and wife, Mary, and their daughter, Kari, of Coppell, TX; cousins, Lois Platt and husband, Frank, of Haslet, TX; Chuc Harris and wife, Julie, of Houston, TX; and numerous relatives. Also surviving are best friends, Janie Beck and David Diffie.
The family will receive friends at Ellis Funeral Home, Friday, January 13, 2006 between the hours of 6:00 P.M. and 8:00 P.M.

James Reginald ‘Reggie’ Bowman
ABILENE - Reggie Bowman, 62, passed away Wednesday, February 22, 2006 at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene, Texas.
Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Thursday, February 23, at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 am on Friday, February 24, at Pioneer Drive Baptist Church, with Rev. Stan Allcorn and Brother Jack Ridlehoover officiating.
Burial will follow at 4:30 pm in Concord cemetery, near Waco, Texas.
Reggie was born on March 25, 1943 to James D. Bowman and Virginia L. (Schmitt) Bowman in Richardson, Texas. He graduated from high school in Lancaster, Texas. On June 11, 1965, Reggie married
Elizabeth Darlene Moran in Waco, Texas. He attended college at Howard Payne College and graduated in 1968 and then attended Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Reggie has served in various staff positions at Baptist churches in several cities, including Palestine, Odessa, Lampasas, Del City, Oklahoma, and Hobbs, New Mexico. In Bozeman, Montana, he served as Director of Baptist Student Ministry at Montana State University. In 1999, Mr. Bowman moved to Abilene from Palestine, Texas. He was the minister of education at Pioneer Drive Baptist Church, before retiring in October of 2005.
Mr. Bowman is survived by both of his parents, J.D. & Virginia Bowman of Lancaster, Texas; his wife, Darlene of Abilene; his son Greg Bowman and his wife Ginger of Duncanville, Texas; his daughter, Melody Bowman of Arlington, Texas, and Melody’s fiancé, Steve Grammer of Mansfield, Texas; three brothers, Rodney Bowman and his wife Joan of Angleton, Texas, Ernie Bowman and his wife Becky, of Fate, Texas, Terry Bowman and his wife Lee Ann of Wichita Falls, Texas; one grandchild, Caleb James Bowman, and several nieces and nephews.

Randolph Warren ‘Randy’ Fails
Odessa - Randolph Warren “Randy” Fails, 80, of Odessa went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, February 22, 2006 at Avalon Place.
He was born April 27, 1925 in Portales, N.M. He served in the U.S. Navy for 3 1/2 years during WWII. He married
Lillie Owens and was married
for 18 years. He had many jobs after the Navy, but he is best remembered for being one of nicest and best snowcone men ever!
He is preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Wilma Fails, two sisters and a brother.
He was a devoted father, and grandfather, and no one loved him more than his son and daughter and grandkids.
He is survived by his son, Travis Warren Fails of Odessa, daughter, Judith Jealene “Johnnie” Meyer of Odessa, brothers, Alvin Harrison Fails of Clovis, NM., Albert Sydney “Buster” Fails of Portales, NM., sisters, Zanobia Pauline Howle of Portales, Mildred Betsy Worley of Clovis, (3) grandchildren, Patrick Randal Meyer, James Matthew Meyer and John Michael Meyer; and former wife, Lillie Mae (Judy) Owens of Odessa.
He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
