Odessa - C. W. “Jake” Emerson, 86, a long time resident of Odessa passed away Thursday, January 12, 2006 at Permian Residential Care Center in Andrews.
He was born June 27, 1919 in McLeansboro, ILL. to Onnie & Mamie Emerson.
He was a Mechanical Engineer for El Paso Products and retired in 1982.
He was a 32nd degree Mason and member of Masonic Lodge #1385.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Maurine Parker Emerson, brothers, Arnold & Dale Emerson & parents, Onnie & Mamie Emerson.
He is survived by Marty & Machele Keesee & family of Andrews, Roger Emerson & family of Kansas, Al & Linda Stewart & family of Stephenville, Lyn & Sandra Parker & family of Llano and several nieces.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 15, 2006 at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral home with Rev. Joseph Currier officiating.
A graveside service will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 17, 2006 at the Highland cemetery in Medicine Lodge, Kansas.

Rev. Grover Lee Yocham
Odessa - Rev. Grover Lee Yocham, 74, of Odessa passed away Friday, January 13, 2006 at his residence.
He was born March 4, 1931 in Riverside, CA.
He married
Betty Gillock November 3, 1979 in Midland.
He was a Marine veteran.
He was a minister for 13 years, and a rancher for years.
He also worked in the oilfield for years and at the Odessa Food Bank.
He was a member of Highway Temple Assembly Of Odessa Church.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Yocham of Odessa, sons, Guy Yocham of Acton, TX., Owen Yocham of Rankin & Gary Flowers of Odessa, daughters, Leesa Eklund & husband Arlon of Midland, Bonnie Hartman & husband Arnie of Ozona, Rebecca Tefertiller of Grand Junction, CO., brother, Charles Ray Yocham of Riverside, CA., sister, Barbara Sandridge of Stratford, OK, (21) grandchildren & (12) great-grandchildren.
A Memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. Sunday, January 15, 2006 at the Highway Temple Assembly Of Odessa Church.
Funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 17, 2006 at Highway Temple Assembly Of Odessa Church.
A military graveside service will follow at the Rankin cemetery in Rankin.

Don Castleman
Hobbs - Don Castleman, 68, of Odessa, an oil field worker, died Saturday, Jan. 28, 2006, while working in the oil field.
Don will lie in state from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Monday.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. (MT) Tuesday at Prairie Haven cemetery in Hobbs, N.M. with the Rev. Trey Myers officiating.
Arrangements are by Chapel of Hope Funeral Home.
He was born in Menard.
He was in the army.
Survivors Wife, Bes Castleman; son, Larry Castleman of Hobbs, N.M.; daughter, Sherri Brooks of Odessa; brothers, L.C. Castleman of Idabel, Okla., Gary Castleman of Belen, N.M.; mother, Jo Castleman of Eden, and five grandchildren.
Donations can me made to the Lea County Cowboy Hall of Fame in Hobbs, N.M. in lieu of flowers.
Turiel D. Gotcher
Odessa - Turiel D. Gotcher, age 80, of Odessa, TX, passed away Saturday January 28, 2006 at the Hospice House of Odessa.
There will be an open visitation on Sunday, and Monday at Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.
There will be no services.
Mr. Gotcher was born August 24, 1925 in Hominy OK. He came to Odessa in 1950.
Mr. Gotcher was married
to Shirley Perry November 11, 1953 in Lovington NM.
Turiel Gotcher proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1943-1946.
He was a World War II veteran. Turiel was a seventh generation Texan.
He is survived by three daughters, Tracy Gotcher, Diane Cobos, and Gail Moore; two sisters, Maxine McGee, and Lenorah Evans; four grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by: his wife Shirley, his parents L.Z. and Grace, and his brothers, Bill, Travis, Shorty, and Todd.
Jerrell Dwayne Killian ‘J.D.’
Midland - J.D. Killian 65, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 22, 2006 after a long illness.
He is survived by his partner and “little darlin’” Mary Reeters; daughters Wendy Hale, Kristy Payne, Mandy Baxter and Nikki Killian; sons Rusty Killian, Zach Killian and Josh Killian; brothers Larry Killian and Rick Killian, his parents Roscoe and Aletha Killian, five grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.
J.D. was a western sales rep and auctioneer who loved meeting people and making new friends.
He loved the wide open spaces of West Texas, and the solitude and peace of the mountains.
Relaxation meant plowing the field in Coleman at The Place.
He was a member of the Church of Christ, and loved the Lord and trusted in him with enviable faith.
Our hearts are broken because he’s no longer with us, but sing with joy knowing he is happy and pain free now in the arms of the Lord he loved so much. Rest in peace Cowboy.
A celebration of his life will be held at the Church of Christ in Van, Texas, on his birthday, Saturday, February 4, 2006 at 2:00 pm.
A second celebration service will be held in Baird, TX on Saturday, February 11, 2006 at 2:00 pm at the Baird Activity Center, 228 Walnut Street.
He requested that friends and loved ones gather to remember good times they shared with him.

Kamey Ashlin Medrano
Odessa - In the Loving Arms of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is to be found Our Beautiful Little Angel Kamey Ashlin Medrano, Kamey at her blessed age of 1, Went to be with her Lord and Savior Thursday January 26, 2006 after a tragic accident.
She was born August 19, 2004 to Christopher and Nickki T. Medrano here in Odessa.
She is preceded in death by her Grandfather: Gilberto Medrano, and both Paternal and Maternal Great- Grandparents: Manuela Lopez, Joaquin and Sara Vasquez. She was a Christian Catholic and a blessing to every one that knew her.
She is survived by Parents: Christopher and Nickki Medrano of Odessa, Grandparents: Margarita Medrano of Ft. Worth, Gilberto and Blanca Acosta of Odessa, Sisters: Makaylee Jade and Annalyah Blanca Medrano both of Odessa and Several Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and Lots of Friends. A rosary will be recited at 7PM Monday January 30, 2006 at Odessa Funeral Home, Mass will be celebrated at 10 AM Tuesday January 31, 2006 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with Reverend: Joseph Uecker officiating.

Donald Ray Poor
Odessa - Donald Ray Poor, age 71, of Odessa, went to be with his Lord on Sunday, January 15, 2005, at Medical Center Hospital. He was born Saturday, February 17, 1934 in Eustis, Frontier County, Nebraska, one of five children raised by Frank and Florence Fern (Dehart) Poor Caldwell.
A member of the Odessa Christian Faith Center, Donald was a veteran of the United States Marines. He married
the love of his life, Annis Small on June 16, 1954 in Lovington, New Mexico.
After he retired as a mechanic, Donald took up arts and crafts and enjoyed building tiny houses out of matches and popsicle sticks. He enjoyed a good game of cards, fishing, feeding birds off his porch and the company of his two dogs, Chica and Buster Timóne.
Those left to cherish his love and memories are his wife, Annis Poor, one Daughter, Connie Malone and husband, Ismael Espinoza of Odessa, one sister, Phyllis Armstrong of Andrews, and his three grandchildren, who Donald always enjoyed joking and cutting up with, David Moore, Jr, Chrystal Moore and Harley Malone all of Odessa. He is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews and many friends
Donald was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Lee and Harold Poor and one sister, Helen Casky.
Funeral Services are scheduled for 2 pm, Friday, January 20, 2006 at Acres West Funeral Chapel, 8115 W University, with Brother Derek Killam officiating. Interment will follow at Ector County cemetery.
Paulette McDougle
Odessa - Paulette McDougle 58 years of age passed away on January 17, 2006 at the Hospice House.
She was born on October 31, 1947 in Corsicana, Texas to Paul and Lillian Burnett.
Paulette worked for many years as a delivery driver for Vivians Floral and was a Baptist.
She married
Richard McDougle on December 31, 1965 in Odessa. Paulette was preceded in death by her parents, and brother David Franklin.
And is survived by her husband ; Richard of Odessa, sons; Brian D. McDougle and Robby W. McDougle both of Odessa, brothers; Paul Burnett Jr. of Odessa, Carter Franklin of Houston, Jerry Brannon of Montgomery, sisters; Claudette Johnston of Odessa, Barbara Burnett of Phoenix, grandchildren; Lainey and Landon McDougle of Odessa, numeous nieces, nephews, cousins and lots of friends and a special friend Wanda Posey and family.
Visitation will be today from 8am until 9 pm at Odessa Funeral Home with the family greeting friends from 6 to 8 pm.
Funeral services are set for 10:00 AM on Friday January 20, 2006 at Odessa Funeal Home Chapel with the Reverend Curits Brewer officiating.
Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Thelma Mihalic
St. Clair Shores, Mich. - Thelma Mihalic, age 87, formerly of Odessa, died on Friday, January 13, 2006 in Detroit Michigan. She was born March 21, 1918 Near Deer Park, Maryland. In 1925 she moved into the Fairmont, West Virginia area where she married
George and raised a family. She resided in Odessa, Texas for 21 years before moving to Michigan in 2003.
While living in Odessa, she attended Highland United Methodist Church, was a member of the Sunset Country Club, and bowled at the Diamond Lanes.
She is survived by her son George (Sue) Mihalic, Jr. of St. Clair Shores, Michigan, son-in-law Dorsey Rushing of Granbury, Texas, brother Ronald (Evelyn) Brenneman of Fairmont, West Virginia, grandchildren Kelly Mihalic, Darcey (Jody) Estes, Robert (Heather) Mihalic, Jody (Ryan) Kriloff, Brandon Rushing, and Julie Mihalic, and great-grandchildren Isabelle, Samantha, and Matthew Mihalic.
She was predeceased by her husband George in 1972 and by her daughter Linda Rushing in 2003.
Thelma worked at the Westinghouse plant in Fairmont for 32 years. She enjoyed bowling, golf, bingo, and watching game shows.
A private memorial service was held in St. Clair Shores, Michigan.
Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
