She was born in Del Rio and had lived in Odessa since 1951.

ODESSA -- Bertha Paula Hobbs, 95, a retired telephone operator, died Wednesday, Oct. 14, 1998, at New Horizon Nursing Home in Odessa.
Graveside services are at 1 p.m. Saturday at Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Houston. Arrangements by Hubbard–Kelly Funeral Home.
She was born Oct. 16, 1902, in Cleveland and had been an Odessa resident since 1978. She was Christian Scientist.
SURVIVORS: A son, Richard Hubble of Odessa; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

MONAHANS -- Ruth McPeak, 71, a homemaker, died Tuesday, Oct. 13, 1998, at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa.
Services will be at 10 a.m. at Harkey Funeral Chapel in Monahans with the Rev. Lyndel Lee officiating. Arrangements by Harkey Funeral Home of Monahans.
She was born in Red River County and was a long-time Monahans resident.
SURVIVORS: Sons, David McPeak of Cloudcroft, N.M., and Wayne McPeak of Ft. Stockton; daughters, Linda Strickland of Crane and Carol Boggs of Odessa; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

She was born in St. Cloud, Minn., and had been a resident of Denver City for 20 years. She was Baptist.

She was born near Coleman and was a member of the Disciples of Christ.

She was born in Stanton and had been a Seagraves resident since 1916.
