He was born Mexia and moved to Odessa in 1974 from Tahoka. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was Baptist.

He was born in Mount Carroll, Ill., and was a longtime resident of Odessa.

ODESSA -- Earskin Riley Gibson, 71, a retired shift foreman for Mobil Oil, died Thursday, Oct. 8, at Parks Methodist Nursing Center.
Masonic graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
He was born in Hawley and had been a resident of Odessa since 1952. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy during World War II.

Fort Stockton -- Ruth L. Laye, 81, a superintendent of manufacturing at Amity Plastic Company, died Thursday, Oct. 8.
