Robert Barr
CRANE -- Robert Wilson Barr, 85, of Crane, a rancher, died Friday, Oct. 23, 1998, at Medical Center Hospital.
Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. today at Crane County cemetery with the Rev. Jim McWillimas officiating. Arrangements by Richard W. Box Funeral Homes.
He was born in Starr and moved to Crane in 1940. He was Methodist.
SURVIVORS: Daughters, Nina Hooper of Crane and Sheila Carson of Odessa; sister, Mary Harris of San Angelo; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Bernice Elliott
KERMIT -- Bernice Elliott, 76, of Kermit, a homemaker, died Thursday, Oct. 22, 1998, at Winkler County Memorial Hospital.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. today at Kermit cemetery with the Rev. Russ Smith Sr. officiating. Arrangements by Cooper Funeral Chapel Inc.
She was born in Munday and was a Kermit resident for 55 years.
SURVIVORS: Son, William Paul Elliott of Dallas; daughter, Linda Pearson of Kermit; brothers, Frank Wallace of Eunice, N.M., and Aaron Wallace of Wichita Falls; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Dennis Garrett
MIDLAND -- Dennis Frank Garrett, 82, of Midland, a retired drilling contractor, died Thursday, Oct. 22, 1998, at his residence.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Golf Course Road Church of Christ with Bill Reese and Hardeman Nichols officiating. Burial will be at Resthaven Memorial Park. Arrangements by Ellis Funeral Home.
He was born in Placedo-Port Lavaca and moved to Midland in 1951. He was a member of the Church of Christ.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Juanita Garrett of Midland; daughters, Francis Lee and Jackie Lynn Reese, both of Midland; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Christopher Ming
ODESSA -- Christopher Scott Ming, infant son of Mendy Walker and Timothy Ming, both of Odessa, died Wednesday, Oct. 21, 1998, at Odessa Regional Hospital.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. today at Sunset Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Don Fankhauser officiating. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
He was born in Odessa.
SURVIVORS: Parents; grandparents, Robin and Deborah Walker and C.J. and Bubba Butler, all of Odessa; and great-grandmother, Sandy Ming of Odessa.

Gladys Towles
ANDREWS -- Gladys Dyess Towles, 93, of Andrews, a homemaker, died Thursday, Oct. 22, 1998, at Columbia Lea Regional Medical Center.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. H.A. Hanks officiating. Burial will be at Andrews Old cemetery. Arrangements by McNett Funeral Home.
She was born in Mineola and moved to Andrews in 1961 from Fox, Okla. She was Baptist.
SURVIVORS: Daughters, Winell Smith of Hobbs, N.M., and Sharon Jackson of Woodward, Okla.; son, Billy G. Towles of Tuscon, Ariz.; brother, Sam H. Dyess of Andrews; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Willian Williams
ODESSA -- Willian Rachel Williams, 89, of Odessa, a homemaker, died Friday, Oct. 23, 1998, at Seabury Nursing Center.
Graveside services will be held at 4 p.m. today at Sunset Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Jess Little officiating. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
She was born in Young City and moved to Odessa in 1938. She was Baptist.
SURVIVORS: Son, Virgil Williams of Odessa; daughters, Thelma Long and Lou Murray, both of Odessa, Pauline Lybrand of Andrews and Hazel Eaton of Brownwood; 27 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Hazel Wood
FORT STOCKTON -- Hazel D. Wood, 73, of Fort Stockton, a cashier and waitress, died Thursday, Oct. 22, 1998, in Fort Stockton.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Fort Stockton Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. A.D. Jackson officiating. Burial will be at East Hill cemetery. Arrangements by Fort Stockton Funeral Home.
She was born in Montague County and moved to Fort Stockton in 1957 from Sanderson.
SURVIVORS: Husband, Edgar "Ed" Wood of Fort Stockton; son, Bobby Wayne Grue of College Station; daughters, Leda Dulaney of Fort Stockton and Veda Walker of San Angelo; brother, Eldridge King of Dallas; sisters, Lorraine Perkins of Fort Worth and Mary Etta Foster of Forestburg; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Carman Fuentes
ODESSA -- Carman C. Fuentes, 31, of Tucson, Ariz., died Friday, Oct. 23, 1998, in Tucson, Ariz.
Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Rev. Gilbert Rodriguez officiating. Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today in Willcox, Ariz., and at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Martinez Funeral Home. Burial will be at Rose Hill cemetery. Arrangements by Westlawn Chapel in Willcox, Ariz., and local arrangements by Martinez Funeral Home.
She was born in Ojinaga, Chihuahua, Mexico. She was Catholic.
SURVIVORS: Husband, Alfredo O. Fuentes of Willcox, Ariz.; parents, Oscar and Maria Elena Hernandez of Odessa; son, Jose Alfredo Fuentes of Willcox, Ariz.; step-sons, Adrian Fuentes and Andrew Fuentes, both of Willcox, Ariz.; brother, Oscar Hernandez Jr. of Odessa; sisters, Alma Rose Hernandez, Elsa Hernandez, Maria Hernandez, Virginia Hernandez, Jessie Hernandez and Terry Pacheco, all of Odessa.

George Holguin
PECOS -- George "Chochi" A. Holguin, 57, of Pecos, an energy technician for Texas-New Mexico Power Co., died Thursday, Oct. 22, 1998, at his residence.
Mass will be celebrated at 3 p.m. Monday at St. Catherine Catholic Church with the Rev. Miguel Alcuino officiating. Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today at Pecos Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at Mount Evergreen cemetery. Arrangements by Pecos Funeral Home.
He was Catholic.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Gloria G. Holguin of Pecos; son, Edward J. Holguin of Galveston; daughters, Barbara J. Holguin of Midland, Imelda H. Williams and Rebecca H. Dominguez, both of Pecos; sisters, Eva Ornelas of Pecos, Ignacia Garcia and Petra Vasquez, both of Barstow, Paulina Barrera of Levelland and Erlinda Garza of Portales, N.M.; and three grandchildren.

LAKE MARY, Fla. -- Ernest "Smitty" Cooper Smith, 57, of Sanford, Fla., a mechanic, died Saturday, Oct. 24, 1998, in Florida.
Services will be held at 2 p.m Monday at Oaklawn Memorial Park. Arrangements by Baldwin-Fairchild-Oaklawn Park cemetery and Funeral Home.
He was born in Rochester, N.H., and moved to central Florida in 1992 from Odessa. He was Baptist.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Janice Smith of Sanford, Fla.; sons, Kenneth Brown of Austin and Jeff Jones of Modoc, Ind.; daughters, Nellie Schneider of Booneville, Fla., Lisa Lee of Indianapolis, Ind., and Jennifer Davis of Modoc, Ind.; brothers, Harry Smith of Virginia Beach, Va., and Larry Smith of Gonic, N.H.; sisters, Beverly Whitten, Hazel Henderson and Anita Gaurbue, all of Gonic, N.H., and Alice Hilton of South Gardner, Maine; and six grandchildren.

PARIS, Texas -- Mary Elizabeth Richey Worden, 91, of Paris, Texas, a retired teacher, died Friday, Oct. 23, 1998, at McCuistion Hospital.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. today at Hickory Grove cemetery with the Rev. John Edwards officiating. Arrangements by Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home.
She was born in Roxton. She was Methodist.
SURVIVORS: Sister, Marqurite B. Cooper of Paris, Texas.

Ruth Malm
FORT STOCKTON -- Ruth Malm, 78, of Fort Stockton, a secretary and bookkeeper, died Sunday, Oct. 25, 1998, in Fort Stockton.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Fort Stockton Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Richard Schroeder officiating. Burial will be at East Hill cemetery. Arrangements by Fort Stockton Funeral Home.
She was born in Manor and moved to Fort Stockton in 1938. She was Lutheran.
