Abram Peters
SEMINOLE -- Abram Peters, 77, died Friday, Nov. 13, 1998, at Brownfield Regional Medical Center.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Reinlander Mennonite Church with the Rev. Henry Riemer officiating. Burial will be at Gaines County cemetery South. Funeral arrangements by Boyer Funeral Home.
He was born in Saskatchewan, Canada, and had been a resident of Seminole for 20 years. He was Mennonite.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Maria Peters of Seminole; sons, Jacob Peters of Paris, Abram Peters of Canada, and John Peters of Seminole; daughters, Anna Peters, Mary Neufield and Margaret Reimer, all of Seminole; brothers, John Peters and Corndius Peters, both of Mexico; sisters, Mary Redekopp of Paraguay, Anna Frieson of Belize, and Nancy Peters of Canada; 43 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Leon Ballew
MIDLAND -- Leon Lunsford Ballew, 71, a retired insurance agent, died Saturday, Nov. 14, 1998, at his residence.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Fairview cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Ellis Funeral Home. Funeral arrangements are by Ellis Funeral Home.
He was born in Lamesa and had been a resident of Midland since the 1950s. He was a Navy veteran.
SURVIVORS: Daughters, Vicki Miller of Clovis, N.M., Shari Salama and Parri Ballew, both of Amarillo and Joni Hooten of Midland; sister, June McQueen of Corpus Christi; and seven grandchildren.
Charlotte Brownback
ODESSA -- Charlotte Elizabeth Brownback, 80, former owner of Brownback Sales, died Sunday, Nov. 15, 1998, at her residence.
Services will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors with the Rev. Curtis Brewer officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Funeral arrangements by Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.
She was born in Garden City, Kan., and had lived in Odessa since 1956. She was a Baptist.
SURVIVORS: Daughter, Beverly Condra of Highland Village; brothers, Bert Siler of Anaheim, Calif., Lynn Siler and Bob Siler, both of California, sister Leanna Siler of Garden City, Kan.; two grandchildren; two great grandchildren.
Nora Featherson
GOLDTHWAITE -- Nora Smith Featherston, 85, a retired nurse’s aide, died Sunday, Nov. 15, 1998.
Services will be at 3 p.m. today at the Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Jack Vaughn officiating. Burial will follow at Goldthwaite Memorial Garden. Funeral arrangements by Stacy-Wilkins Funeral Home.
She was a member of the Assembly of God.
SURVIVORS: Daughter, Wanda Stinnett of Round Rock; son, Charlie Featherston of Andrews; brother, Edward Smith of Lampasas; five grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren.
Vera Lossing
ODESSA – Vera Mable Lossing, 83, died Saturday, Nov. 14, 1998, at Medcial Center Hospital after a lengthy illness.
Memorial services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday at Hubbard-Kelly Chapel with the Rev. Bobby Phillips officiating. Funeral arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
She was born in Watanuka, Okla.
SURVIVORS: Sons, Dan Lossing of Lincoln, Neb., and J.R. Lossing of Olathe, Kan.; daughter, Carol Klein of Albuquerque, N.M.; sisters, Ruby Jordon of Odessa, and Ada Shaw of San Bernardino, Calif.; brother, Grover Hall of Odessa; eight grandchildren; and one great grandchildren.
Dorothy Robertson
SEMINOLE -- Dorothy Robertson, 76, a retired rancher, died Friday, Nov. 13, 1998, at Methodist Hospital in Lubbock.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at South Seminole Baptist Church with the Rev. Shane Kinnison officiating. Burial will follow at Gaines County Memorial Park. Funeral arrangements by Roger Pool Funeral Home.
She was born in Coahoma and had lived in Seminole since 1948. She was a Baptist.
SURVIVORS: Son, Joe Puckett of Lubbock; and eight grandchildren.
Joe Underwood
ANDREWS -- Joe Ed Underwood, 59, a retired news director and security guard, died Friday, Nov. 13, 1998, at Permian General Hospital in Andrews.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the Andrews West cemetery with the Rev. Mike Henson officiating. Funeral arrangements by McNett Funeral Home.
He was born in San Angelo.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Charlotte Underwood of Andrews; son, Ed Underwood of Lindale; daughter, Cindy Cordova of Lindale; brother, Jim Underwood of Andrews; sister, Sandra Overman of Eastland; and nine grandchildren.
Carl Williams
ODESSA – Carl Joe "C.J." Williams, 71, died Sunday, Nov. 15, 1998, at the V.A. Medical Center of Big Spring.
No services are scheduled
He was born in Depew, Okla. He was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Arrangements by Odessa Funeral Home Angeles Memorial Chapel.
SURVIVORS: Daughters, Heather Williams of Odessa; sons, Richard Kearney of Carmi, Ill., Carl Joe Williams Jr., and William "Bell" Williams, both of Odessa; brother, Edward C. Williams of Enfield, Ill.; sister, Mary J. James of San Antonio; seven grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
Ruth Crawford
ODESSA -- Ruth Crawford, 93, of Odessa, a retired teacher, died Sunday, Nov. 15, 1998, at Deerings Nursing Home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Hubbard-Kelly Chapel with Lynn Money officiating. Burial will be at Resthaven cemetery in Brady. Arrange-ments by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
She was born in Nine and moved to Odessa in 1989 from Brady. She was a member of the Christian Church.
SURVIVORS: Daughter, Betty Calley of Odessa; sons, Frank Crawford of Brown-field, Jim Crawford of Grandfalls and Dan Crawford of Grand Rapids, Mich.; brother, Virgil Smith of Mernard; 12 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Ramon Garcia
GRANDFALLS -- Ramon Fuentes Garcia, 56, of Grandfalls, a farm laborer, died Sunday, Nov. 15, 1998, at his residence.
Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. today at Tamarisk cemetery with the Rev. John Lucido officiating. Arrangements by Harkey Funeral Home of Monahans.
He was born in Study Butte and was a longtime resident of Grandfalls. He was Catholic.
SURVIVORS: Daughter, Gloria Garcia of Crane; sons, Raymond Garcia and Roy Garcia, both of Monahans; brothers, Juan Garcia of Grandfalls and Merarado Garcia of Monahans; sisters, Maryann Garcia of Jal, N.M., Elida Ramirez and Rosa Olibas, both of Grandfalls, and Elodia Garcia of Odessa; and four grandchildren.
Jeaninne Slusher
ODESSA -- Jeaninne Slusher, 64, of Odessa, a retired teacher and co-owner of DMJ Communications, died Sunday, Nov. 15, 1998, at Medical Center Hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors chapel with Ira Lynn officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.
She was born in Fort Worth and moved to Odessa in 1962 from Monahans.
SURVIVORS: Husband, Donald Slusher of Odessa; sons, David Slusher of Odessa and Mark Slusher of Lubbock; daughter, Julie Hooper of Odessa; sister, Glenda Bowman of Odessa; parents, Homer and Pinkie Hargrove of Odessa; and six grandchildren.
John Cox
ODESSA -- John William Cox, 90, of Odessa died Monday, Nov. 16, 1998, at his residence.
Services are pending with Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
Gloria Bartlett
CRANE -- Gloria Ann Bartlett, 68, of Crane, a homemaker, died Wednesday, Nov. 18, 1998, at Memorial Hospital and Medical Center in Midland.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Tabernacle Baptist Church with the Rev. Lyndel Lee officiating. Burial will be at Crane County cemetery. Arrangements by Richard W. Box Funeral Homes.
She was born in Mundy and had lived in Crane since 1973. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
SURVIVORS: Husband, Ray Bartlett of Crane; mother, Annis Doolen of Crane; daughter, Tammie Jo Turner of Big Spring; sons, Johnnie Feeler of Crane and Robbie Lee Feeler of Big Spring; sister, JoBeth Hagood of Crane; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
