KERMIT -- Oma Bates, 88, of Kermit, a homemaker, died Thursday, June 24, 1999, at her residence.

She was born in Utica, Kan., and was a resident of Kermit for 32 years. She was Baptist.
SURVIVORS: Son, Billy Bates of Oklahoma City; daughters, Betty Johnson of Kermit and Sue Henson of Odessa; sister, Edith Lang of Dighton, Kan.; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was born in Atlanta and was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corp.
