ODESSA -- Myrtice Roberts, 96, of Odessa, died Tuesday, June 29, 1999, at Seabury Nursing Center.
Services are pending with Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.

Maggie Bippes

PECOS -- Maggie Bippes, 80, of Pecos, died Wednesday, June 16, 1998, at her residence.

Services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Bruce Abbott officiating. Burial will be at Mount Evergreen cemetery. Arrangements by Pecos Funeral Home.

She was born in Adel, Iowa, and was a lifelong resident of Pecos. She was Methodist.

Survivors: Sons, Donald Bippes of Pecos and Melvin Bippes of Dumas; daughter, Mary Ann Sewalt of Fort Worth; sister, Sarah Samples of Fenton, Mo.; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Kenneth Cable

NORMAN, Okla. -- Kenneth Cable, 79, of Norman, Okla., a retired fire marshal for the City of Odessa, died Monday, June 15, 1998, at his residence.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in Primrose Chapel. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Park cemetery in Norman, Okla. Arrangements by Primrose Funeral Home.

He was born in Noble, Okla., and moved to Norman in 1978 from Odessa. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was Baptist.

Survivors: Brother, Walter Cable of Everett, Wash.

Steven Compton

TOYAH -- Steven Compton, 45, of Pecos, a minister, died Tuesday, June 16, 1998, at Medical Center Hospital.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Toyah Baptist Church with the Revs. J.R. Wooten and James Henderson officiating. Burial will be at Toyah cemetery. Arrangements by Pecos Funeral Home.

He was born in San Angelo and was a lifelong resident of Pecos. He was Baptist.

Survivors: Mother, Betty Compton of Toyah; grandmother, Sarah Lay of San Angelo; sons, Joshua Lee Compton of Bluemound and David Hampton of Fort Stockton; daughters, Sandra Jarrett and Cindy Bagley, both of Pecos and Anne Orona of Monahans; brother, Damon Compton of Toyah; sister, Diana Tollett of Toyah; and eight grandchildren.

Anabel Elizondo

ODESSA -- Anabel Acosta Elizondo, 58, of Odessa, a retired nurse's aide, died Tuesday, June 16, 1998, her residence.

No services will be held. Arrangements by Martinez Funeral Home.

She was born in Fort Stockton and had lived in Odessa for one year.

Survivors: Father, Carlos Acosta of Odessa; mother, Simona Acosta of Odessa; daughters, Lydia Olgin of Odessa; Belinda Sue Olgin-Benavides of Albuquerque, N.M., Elizabeth Elizondo of Lubbock; sons, Rick Elizondo of Odessa and Ronald Olgin of Diamond Bar, Calif.; sisters, Lydia Rodriguez of Baldwin Park, Calif., and Elva Sanchez of Grand Prairie; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Cornelia Trejo

FORT STOCKTON -- Cornelia S. Trejo, 82, of Odessa, a homemaker, died Wednesday, June 17, 1998, at her residence.

Rosary will be said at 7 tonight at Fort Stockton Funeral Home. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday af St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Rev. Bernardito Getigan officiating. Burial will be at St. Joseph cemetery. Arrangements by Fort Stockton Funeral Home.

She was born in Ozona and moved to Odessa in 1961 from Fort Stockton.

Survivors: Husband, Hermilo Trejo of Odessa; sons, Dan Almodova of Fort Stockton and Ubaldo Luna of Fort Worth; daughters, Senaida A. Munoz of Odessa, Delia A. Ramirez and Maria S. Aldomova, both of Fort Stockton and Crestina A. Sanchez of Segoville; sisters, Jacinta White of Borger and Denis Moran of Ozona; brother, Teofilo Sanchez of Sheffield; 27 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Charles Allred

ODESSA -- Charles Allred, 80, of Odessa, died Thursday, June 18, 1998, at Parks Methodist Retirement Village.

Services are pending with Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

Lavern Mann

ODESSA -- Lavern Mann, 69, of Schertz, died Monday, June 15, 1998, at her residence.

Services are pending with Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

Betty Townsend

ODESSA -- Betty Lee Townsend, 70, of Odessa, died Wednesday, June 17, 1998, at Medical Center Hospital.

Services are pending with Martinez Funeral Home.

Helen Dozier-Hughes

COWETA, Okla. -- Helen Dozier-Hughes, 87, of Coweta, Okla., a homemaker and seamstress, died Wednesday, Sept. 23, 1998, at Coweta Manor Nursing Home.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. today at Wright Funeral Home with the Rev. Jay Rolf-Kanerva officiating. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Wright Funeral Home.

She was born in Kane, Penn. She was Baptist.

SURVIVORS: Sons, Harold S. Dozier of Tulsa, Okla., and William B. Dozier of Cleburne; daughters, Helen L. Peterson of Midland and Beverly J. Johnson of Coweta, Okla.; 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Della Shultz

COLORADO CITY -- Della Mae Shultz, 83, of Odessa, a retired invoice clerk, died Wednesday, Sept. 23, 1998, at Medical Center Hospital.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. today at Colorado City cemetery with the Rev. Jim Brown officiating. Local arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

She was born in Mineola and moved to Odessa in 1942 from Big Lake. She was Baptist.

SURVIVORS: Daughter, Joan Deutsch of Odessa; and son, Bill Shultz of Odessa.

John Turner

LOCKNEY -- John Henry Turner, 90, of Lockney, a farmer, died Wednesday, Sept. 23, 1998, at Lockney Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. today at West College and Third Street Church of Christ with Frank Duckworth and Pearl McDonald officiating. Burial will be at Flomot cemetery. Arrangements by Moore-Rose-White Funeral Home.

He was born in Tupelo, Okla., and moved to Lockney in 1977. He was a member of the Church of Christ.

SURVIVORS: Wife, Margie Turner of Lockney; sons, Donald Ray Turner of Odessa, Sammy Lee Turner of Lubbock, John David Turner of Lockney, Guinn Edwin Turner of Grapevine and Douglas Wayne Turner of Lubbock; sister, Marie Jefferys of Hale Center; 13 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Bernice Henderson

CRANE -- Bernice Henderson, 87, of Crane, a restaurant operator, died Friday, Sept. 25, 1998, at the Crane Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Services will be 3 p.m. Monday at the Mary Street Church of Christ with Joe Smith of Stillwell, Okla., officiating. Burial will be at Crane County cemetery. Arrangements by Richard W. Box Funeral Home of Crane. She was born in Fisher County. She was a member of the Church of Christ.

SURVIVORS: Daughters, Artie Mansell and Tracey Henderson, both of Crane; son, Paul J. Henderson Jr. of Anadarko, Okla.; sister, Wilma Smith of Stillwell, Okla.; brother, Layne George of Kennewick, Wash.; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Jesus Urias

KERMIT -- Jesus Ramon "Ray" Urias, 47, of Kermit, a truck mechanic for P&N Trucking, died Friday, Sept. 25, 1998, at Midland Memorial Hospital.

Service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Cooper Funeral Chapel Inc. in Kermit with the Rev. Louis Gutierrez officiating.

Burial will be in Kermit cemetery. Arrangements by Cooper Funeral Chapel of Kermit.

He was a 47-year resident of Kermit and a Jehovah’s Witness.

SURVIVORS: Mother, Feliz Urias of Kermit; son, Joshua Urias of Stinnet; daughter, Delilah Urias of Amarillo; brothers, Joe Urias of Carlsbad, N.M., and Juan M. Urias of Kermit; sisters, Mary Gutierrez of Denton and Rosie Ramirez of Wink.
