PECOS -- Loy Marie Weldon, 86, of Pecos, a homemaker, died Sunday, Sept. 6, 1998, at Reeves County Hospital.

She was born in Maplewood, Ohio, and had lived in Pecos since 1978.

ODESSA -- Idelfonso "Ponch" C. Abeyta, 62, of Odessa, a retired postal clerk, died Monday, Sept. 7, 1998, at Veteran’s Memorial Hospital in Big Spring.
Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. today at St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Rev. Gilbert Rodriguez officiating. Burial will be at Rose Hill cemetery. Arrangements by Martinez Funeral Home.
He was born in Los Angeles, and moved to Odessa 56 years ago. He was a Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War.
