T.J. Harris

ODESSA -- T.J. Harris, 86, of Odessa, a retired welder, died Sunday, June 14, 1998, at Medical Center Hospital.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jim Hawk officiating. Burial will be at Resthaven Memorial Park in Midland. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

He was born in Eastland and moved to Odessa in 1947 from Pampa, Texas. He was Methodist.

Survivors: Wife, Alice Harris of Odessa; sons, Ted W. Harris of Odessa and Ron J. Harris of Atlanta; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Lora Olson

ERICKSDAHL -- Lora Spurling Oman Olson, 79, of Stamford, a retired bookkeeper, died Sunday, June 14, 1998, at her residence.

Services will be held at 9:30 a.m. today at Bethel Lutheran Church with the Rev. Kent Wallace officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Arrangements by Tankersly Funeral Home.

She was born in Anson and was a lifetime resident of the area. She was Lutheran.

Survivors: Husband, Maynard Olson of Stamford; son, John Bill Oman of Ericksdahl; step-son, W.M. "Sonny" Olson of Stamford; step-daughters, Vyron Thane of Ericksdahl, Myron Mayberry of Slaton; sister, Audrey Boyd of Anson; five grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and nine step-great-grandchildren.

Richard Anderson

EUNICE, N.M. -- Richard "Dick" Anderson, 67, of Eunice, N.M., a retired treasurer for Colborn Company, died Sunday, June 14, 1998, at Methodist Hospital in Lubbock.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Don Caywood officiating. Burial will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at Brunson Memorial cemetery. Arrangements by Calvary Funeral Home.

He was born in Ranger and moved to Eunice, N.M., in 1984 from Houston. He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War. He was Baptist.

Survivors: Wife, Glenda Anderson of Eunice, N.M.; son, Walter Kilpatrick of Kaufman; and sister, Barbara Colborn of Odessa.

Jose Barrera

PECOS -- Jose M. Barrera, 52, of Pecos, a maintenance worker for Anchor West Inc., died Monday, June 15, 1998, at Reeves County Hospital.

Rosary was said June 16, 1998, at Pecos Funeral Home Chapel. Mass will be celebrated at 4 p.m. today at Santa Rosa Catholic Church. Burial will be at Mount Evergreen cemetery. Arrangements by Pecos Funeral Home.

He was born in Serro Alto, Mexico, and was a lifelong resident of Pecos. He was Catholic.

Survivors: Wife, Rachel Barrera of Pecos; sons, Jaime Barrera, Israel Barrera, Jose Cruz and Gilbert Barrera, all of Odessa; father, Pablo Montoya of Pecos; step-mother, Esther Luna of Pecos; sisters, Antonia Gomez, Margarita Baeza, Emma Carrasco, Armida Rico, all of Pecos, Elvira Mendoza of Crystal City, Otilia Valenzuela, Delia Montoya and Ninfa Hernandez, all of Odessa; brothers, Andres Montoya and Epifanio Montoya, both of Pecos, Willie Montoya of San Antonio, Benito Montoya and Tiodoso Montoya, both of Odessa; and nine grandchildren.

Charles Millen

ODESSA -- Charles Millen, 71, of Odessa, died Sunday, June 14, 1998, at his residence.

Graveside services will be held at 9 a.m. today at Ector County cemetery wiht the Rev. Jess Little officiating. Arrangements by Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.

He was born in Chicago, Ill.

Marie Miller

ODESSA -- Marie Hollowell Miller, 52, of Odessa, a realtor, died Monday, June 15, 1998, at Medical Center Hospital.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. today at Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors with the Revs. Johnny Witherspoon and Charles Hollowell officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.

She was born in Honey Grove. She was Baptist.

Survivors: Husband, Wayne Miller of Odessa; mother, Modicar Ross of Odessa; brothers, Charles Ray Hollowell and Jerry Partridge, both of Odessa.

Eldon Van Zant

ODESSA -- Eldon Wesley Van Zant, 36, of LaPorte died Sunday, June 14, 1998, at his residence.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Odessa Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Randy Unruh officiating. Burial will be at 2 p.m. at Seagraves cemetery. Arrangements by Odessa Funeral Home Angeles Memorial Chapel.

He was born in Richmond, Mo.

Survivors: Wife, Terry Van Zant of LaPorte; son, Jason Van Zant of La Porte; daughters, Amber Van Zant and Jennifer Van Zant, both of LaPorte; parents, Maxine Smith and Eldon Van Zant, both of Lexington, Okla. and step-father, George Smith of Richmond, Mo.; brothers, Junior Van Zant and Robert Van Zant, both of Lexington, Mo.; sisters, Elda Nacol of LaPorte, Marilyn Van Zant, Carolyn Van Zant, Sharolyn Van Zant and Evelyn Van Zant, all of Lexington, Mo.

Hattie Cox

MONAHANS -- Hattie Lou Cox, 94, of Monahans, a homemaker, died Tuesday, June 16, 1998, at Monahans Senior Health Center.

Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. today at Monahans Memorial cemetery. Arrangements by Harkey Funeral Home.

She was born in Texas.

Survivors: Son, Milton Blackwell of Waco; daughter, Kay Zocher of Monahans; seven grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Bertha Laskowski

NEWARK, Texas -- Bertha "Bea" Laskowski, 53, of Odessa, a retired employee of Leisure Foods, died Friday, May 29, 1998, in Newark.

Memorial services were held June 8, 1998, at Grace Baptist Church with the Rev. David Isbell officiating.

She was born in Killbuck, N.Y., and moved to Newark from Odessa.

Survivors: Husband, David Hill of Newark, Texas; son, Dan Laskowski of Atlanta; daughter, Beth Hedgpeth of Fort Collins, Colo.; sister, Rae MacKinder of Phoenix; and six grandchildren.

Oscar Strong

FORT STOCKTON -- Oscar Muriel Strong, 82, of Fort Stockton, a retired operation and maintenance supervisor for Northern Natural Gas, died Tuesday, June 16, 1998, at Medical Center Hospital.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Larry Krueger officiating. Burial will be at Easthill cemetery. Arrangements by Fort Stockton Funeral Home.

Survivors: Wife, Dana Strong of Fort Stockton; sons, Orville Wayne Strong of Corpus Christi, Melvin Oscar Strong of Port Lavaca; daughters, Sharon Lee Spear of Santa Anna, Calif., Linda Rae Harrison of Weatherford; brothers, Charles Strong of Dakota City, Neb., Melvin Strong of Omaha, Neb., Vernon Strong of Albany, Ill., Willis Strong of Omaha, Neb. and Bradley Strong of South Sioux City, Neb.; sister, Dorothy Chamberlain of Schuyler, Neb., eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

LUBBOCK -- Thomas E. Swift, 93, of Lubbock, a retired pumper for AMCO, died Tuesday, June 16, 1998, at St. Mary's Hospital in Lubbock.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. today at Resthaven Chapel with the Rev. Jim Brown officiating. Burial will be at 2 p.m. today at Andrews County cemetery. Arrangements by Resthaven Funeral Home.

He was born in DeQueen, Ark., and moved to Lubbock in 1987 from Andrews. He was a Baptist.

Survivors: Daughter, Dorris Martin of Lubbock; brothers, Ewell W. Swift of Broken Bow, Okla., Clyde Swift of Texarakana, Ark., Henry Swift of San Antonio; sisters, Ruby Capps of Olney, Gertrude Ray of Pittsburg, Texas; and two grandchildren.

Jamesetta Williams

ODESSA -- Jamesetta Williams, 74, of Odessa died Monday, June 15, 1998, at Medical Center Hospital.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Parks Memorial Church of God in Christ with the Rev. Jackie Riles officiating. Burial will be at Odessa cemetery. Arrangements by Odessa Funeral Home Angeles Memorial Chapel.

She was born in Vernon.

Survivors: Son, Lester B. Williams of Dallas; daughters, Shirley Williams of Odessa, Rosalee Haynes of Las Cruces, N.M.. Surella Diane Canada of Lake Jackson; brothers, Willie Cunningham and Marvin Cunningham, both of Fort Worth; sister, Mildred Phillips of Fort Worth; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
