MIDLAND - Maudie Marie Rains, 66, the Director of Education at Midland Memorial Hospital and a registered nurse, died Sunday, Aug. 10, 1997, at Midland Memorial Hospital and Medical Center.
Services were held Tuesday at First Baptist Church in Midland with the Rev. Gary Dyer officiating. Burial was at Resthaven Memorial Park. Funeral arrangements by Ellis Funeral Home.
She was born in Dawson County and was a longtime resident of Midland.

David Sneed Jr.
SEAGRAVES - David Harrison Sneed Jr., 85, a retired pipe fitter and owner and operator of a supply company in Muleshoe, died Monday, Aug. 11, 1997, at his residence.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. today at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. John Westerman officiating. Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. at Lubbock City cemetery. Arrangements by Head Family Funeral Home.
He was born in Oklahoma and was a resident of Seagraves for 25 years.
SURVIVORS: Two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

PECOS - Roberto Urias, 63, a laborer, died Monday, Aug. 11, 1997, at Reeves County Hospital.
Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. today at Santa Rosa Catholic Church with the Rev. Antonio Mena officiating. Burial will be at Mount Evergreen cemetery. Arrangements by Pecos Funeral Home.
He was born in Buena Vista, Chihuahua, Mexico, and had been a resident of Pecos since 1968. He was a Catholic.

He was born in Marlin. He was an Army veteran and a member of the Church of Christ.

EASTLAND - Barbara Sue [cl10.5]McDougal McPherson, 55, a pilot and bookkeeper, died Tuesday, Aug. 12, 1997, in Eastland.

She was born in Iraan and lived in Hobbs, N.M., Valliant, Okla., Breckenridge, Deer Park, Fort Worth, Odessa and Eastland. She was a member of the Baptist Church in Ranger.

MIDLAND - Jack Linwood Brown, 88, a retired DeKalb Drilling Co. superintendent, died Thursday, Aug. 14, 1997, at his residence.
Graveside services will be held at 4 p.m. today at Sunset Memorial Garden cemetery with the Rev. James Otterness officiating. Funeral arrangements by Ellis Funeral Home.
He was born in Chattanooga, Tenn., and had been a resident of Midland since 1933. He was an Episcopalian. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the South Pacific with the Marine Corps.

SEMINOLE - Liles A. Easley, 43, an employee of Walton Construction of Hobbs, died Friday, Aug. 15, 1997, from injuries suffered from an auto accident.

ODESSA - Michael Paul Hubnik, 47, died Friday, Aug. 8, 1997, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Albuquerque, N.M., after a short illness.
Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. today at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church with the Rev. Frank Chavez officiating. An additional Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Sunday at St. Cyril Methodius Catholic Church in Marakville with the Rev. Charlie Davis officiating. Burial will be at St. Cyril Methodius cemetery.

He was born in Fort Worth and was a longtime resident of Odessa. He was a U.S. Navy veteran.
