She was born in Roby and moved to Odessa in 1971 from New Orleans.
SURVIVORS: Husband, Lloyd Brazeal of Odessa; son, Larry V. Gist of Midland; stepsons, Jim Brazeal of Broken Arrow, Okla., and Daniel Brazeal of Odessa; sister, Joveda Jackson of New Orleans; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Vida Birmingham
ODESSA Vida Christine Birmingham, 93, of Odessa, a seamstress, died Friday, Oct. 8, 1999, at a local nursing home.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
She was born in Mount Ida, Ark. She was Methodist.

Felix Guevara
SEMINOLE Felix S. Guevara, 86, of Seminole, a farmer, died Thursday, Oct. 7, 1999, at University Medical Center in Lubbock after a lengthy illness.
Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. today at St. James Catholic Church with the Rev. John Casey officiating. Burial will be at Gaines County cemetery. Arrangements by Boyer Funeral Home.
He was born in Candelaria and moved to Seminole in 1985 from Fort Stockton. He was Catholic.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Everarda Guevara of Seminole; son, Santos Guevara of Seminole; brother, Otilio Guevara of Mexico; sisters, Francisca Guevara of Phoenix and Paula Guevara of Presidio; and four grandchildren.
Amanda Nuckols
ODESSA Amanda Nuckols, 98, of Odessa, a homemaker, died Wednesday, Oct. 6, 1999, at her residence.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Kermit cemetery with the Rev. Mike Fickenscher officiating. Arrangements by Cooper Funeral Home Chapel.
She was born in Milan County and lived in Kermit for 50 years before moving to Odessa in 1994. She was Lutheran.
SURVIVORS: Sons, Marvin Doss of Odessa; brother, Lonnie Henniger of San Angelo; sister, Mamie Pfeiffer of San Angelo; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Rosa Pearson
ODESSA Rosa L. Pearson, 91, of Odessa died Wednesday, Oct. 6, 1999, in a local hospital.

She was born in Cement, Okla., and had lived in Odessa since 1965.

Flavio Ramirez
SEMINOLE Flavio Ramirez, 66, of Seminole, a retired rancher, died Wednesday, Oct. 6, 1999, at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock.

He was born in Mexico and moved to Seminole from Alpine in 1965. He was Catholic.

ODESSA Birty Beatrice Riley, 83, of Odessa died Thursday, Oct. 7, 1999, at Medical Center Hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Wesley Evangelical Methodist Church with the Rev. Ronnie Newton officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
She was born in Santa Anna and moved to Odessa in 1947. She was Methodist.
SURVIVORS: Daughter, Maxine Hensley of Odessa; son, Curtis W. Bilbrey of New Braunfels; brother, Wesley Morris of Odessa; sisters, Alice Williams, Vera Edwards and Lora Davis, all of Tool; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Julia Ward
PECOS Julia Hampton Ward, 93, of Pecos died Thursday, Oct. 7, 1999, at Pecos Nursing Home.
Services will be held at a later date.She was born in Pecos and was a lifelong resident.

Ernest Banks
ODESSA Ernest Banks, 97, of Odessa, died Sunday, Oct. 10, 1999, at his residence.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. today at Sunset Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Jimmy Braswell officiating.
He was born July 8, 1902, in Jackson County, Okla. He married
Flora Lee Bennett Nov. 8, 1945, in Mesquite.
Mr. Banks moved to Odessa in 1954 from El Paso. He was an automobile salesman and in the Navy Seabees during World War II. He was a member of Highland United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by sisters, Amsel Davis in 1980 and Mabel Chapman in 1993; and brother, Louis Banks in 1996.
Survivors include his wife, Flora Banks of Odessa; sons, Dr. Ben Banks and wife Kathy of Dallas and Barty Banks and wife Susie of Hobbs, N.M.; five grandchildren: Brittany and Bethany Banks, both of Hobbs, N.M., Hunter, Brian and Katy Banks, all of Dallas.
The family suggests memorial to Home Hospice.
Services are entrusted to Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
John Leonard McCoslin
ODESSA "Uncle Leonard," as he is lovingly called by many, stepped into heaven October 11, 1999.
He was preceded in death by his wife Willie, who died May 24, 1973; a stepson, Chester Slaughter who was killed in a plane crash, May 21, 1945; and his youngest son, Leslie McCoslin who died Nov. 8, 1997.
After his marriage in 1926, he made his home in and around Freestone and Limestone County. He was a farmer by trade. He loved his family and church. He was very active in his church. He served as Sunday school director, Sunday school teacher, treasurer and was ordained as a Deacon in 1945.
In July of 1984, he moved to California to live with his son and daughter-in-law, Leslie and Jeri McCoslin.
He moved back to Texas in October 1998. He was a member of Dunn Street Baptist Church.
He is survived by a step-son, W.B. "Buck" Slaughter of Santa Maria, Calif.; a daughter-in-law, Jeri McCoslin of Fiddletown, Calif.; four grandchildren, Brian McCoslin, Cathy Gallentine, Ginger Taylor and Gene Slaughter; seven great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Anita Miller of Baytown; two brothers, Denton McCoslin of Coupland and Leon McCoslin of Humble. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
A celebration of Mr. McCoslins life will be heId at Dunn Street Baptist Church, at 2 p.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Mark Lewis officiating.
The body will be transferred to Mexia where graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at New Hope cemetery with Wayne Blackshear officiating.
It is requested that in lieu of flowers, memorials be sent to Dunn St. Baptist Church, 8546 W. Dunn St., Odessa, Texas, 79763.
