He was born in Gail, Texas on April 28, 1927.
He was a plant worker for Rexene and a member of Westover Baptist Church.

MONAHANS - Sarah Ethel Yell, 98, of Monahans died Saturday, Sept. 20, 1997, at the Monahans Senior Health Center.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Monahans Memorial cemetery Pavilion with the Order of Eastern Stars officiating. Burial will be at Monahans Memorial cemetery.
Arrangements are by Harkey Funeral Home.
She was born in Des Moines, Iowa, and had lived in Monahans for 62 years. She married
James S. Yell, Oct. 26, 1926, and was a homemaker.
Her husband, James preceded her in death.

ODESSA - Miguel V. Loya, 82, died Saturday, Sept. 20, 1997, at his home in Odessa.
Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Monday at Martinez Funeral Home. Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial will be at Rosehill cemetery. Arrangements are by Martinez Funeral Home.
He was born in Chihuahua, Mexico, and was a retired maintenance worker.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Maria Loya of Odessa; brother, Tomas V. Loya of San Elizar. He was preceded in death by his father, Ambrosio Loya.

MCCAMEY - Michael Fuentes, 42, died Friday, Sept. 19, 1997, at his home in McCamey.
Rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m. Monday at Richard W. Box Funeral Home in McCamey. Mass will be celebrated at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Barry McLean officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven cemetery. Arrangements are by Richard W. Box Funeral Home.
Fuentes was a lifelong resident of McCamey and worked as a truck driver in the oil fields. He was Catholic.
SURVIVORS: Father, Fred Fuentes Jr. of McCamey; daughters, Kelly Fuentes and Juana Fuentes, both of Colorado Springs; sister, Viola Pena and her husband, Ray, of Big Lake; brothers, Stephen Fuentes of Dallas and Freddy Fuentes of McCamey; nephews Roland and Erick Pena of Big Lake; and nieces, Christy and Michelle Pena of Big Lake. He was preceded in death by his mother, Juana Lujan Fuentes.

Gwin Fowler
SAN ANTONIO - Gwin Dale Fowler, 67, of Hondo died Thursday, Sept. 18, 1997, in San Antonio after a lengthy illness.
Services were held at 11 a.m. Sept. 22, 1997, at the Sunset Memorial Park and Funeral Home with Mark Williamson and Donald F. Willis officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park. Arrangements by Sunset Funeral Home.
He was born in Crosby County, and was a highway patrolman with the Texas Department of Public Safety for several years. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War. He was a deacon with the Winsor Park Church of Christ in Corpus Christi and at Corinth Road Church of Christ in Jacksonville.
SURVIVORS: Daughters, Teresa Marie Fowler Jones of San Antonio and Evelyn Anette Jordan of San Antonio; sisters, Wilma Jean Stahl of Denver, Colo., and Margie Williamson of Pecos; brothers, Leslie Loyd Fowler of Seattle, Wash., Eph Allen Fowler of Crosbyton and Harley Atom Fowler of Blue Mound; and three grandchildren.

She was born in Terlingua. She was a member of the Catholic church.

FORT STOCKTON - Ellis W. 'Dub' Howell, 80, a windmill repairman and rancher, died Sunday, Sept. 21, 1997, in Fort Stockton.

He was born in Rocksprings and had lived in Fort Stockton since 1917. He was former member of the Pecos County Sheriff's Posse and a former adult leader in the 4-H Club.

He was born in Gonzalez and had lived in Odessa for 42 years. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
