John Leonard Williams
ODESSA — John Leonard Williams was born on Oct. 24, 1927, in Camden, Ark. He passed away at his home Tuesday, Nov. 2, 1999.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Delora May Williams; his sons, Terry and Jerry Williams; and his daughter, Cynthia Gaede.
Graveside services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Services are under the direction of Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.
Mr. Williams served in the Air Force. He was raised in Arkansas and moved to Odessa in 1950. He married
Delora May Hetrick in 1951.
He worked for Parker Drilling and later for Sante Fe where he retired after 20 years of service in 1990. He was a member of the Church of Christ and enjoyed working jigsaw puzzles.
Survivors include his sons, Jimmy Williams of Odessa and John Williams of Justin; his daughter, Carla Miller of Arlington; grandchildren, John, Shara and Shanda Gaede, Shane and Brandon Dunn and Chelsea Miller; and great-granddaughter, Page Dunn.
William Jackson "Jack" Sullivan
ODESSA — William Jackson "Jack" Sullivan, 80, of Odessa, died Wednesday, Sept. 15, 1999, in Abilene.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Eisenhower Church of Christ with Garry Sullivan and Dwight Whitsett officiating. Burial will be at Resthaven Memorial Park in Midland.
He was born to John Robert "Pete" Sullivan and Sallie Virginia (Mallett), Feb. 26, 1919, in Amarillo. He married
Jessie Bernice Williams May 27, 1941, in Weatherford. She preceded him in death Oct. 6, 1995.
Mr. Sullivan was a 54-year resident of Odessa. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was an oilfield electrical equipment salesman. He was a member of Eisenhower Church of Christ where he served as an elder for 22 years.
Survivors include his son, Garry Sullivan and wife, Paullette, of Houston; daughter, Brenda Whitsett and husband, Dwight, of Abilene; sisters, Doris Pate and husband Joe, Gladys Haney and Nita Gibson and husband, Charles, all of Lubbock; grandchildren, Amy Whitesett Hopkins, Angela Sullivan Ondarza, Timothy Whitsett, Justin Whitsett, Nathan Whitsett, Monty Sullivan, Chris Sullivan and Ryan Sullivan; and three great-grandchildren.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Reba Dee Wagnon
ODESSA — Reba Dee Wagnon, 85, of Odessa died Sept. 15, 1999, at Avalon Place Nursing Center.
She was born Oct. 23, 1913, in May, Texas, to Albert and Molly Lancaster.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. today at First Church of the Nazarene with the Rev. Terry Pierce officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are by Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.
Mrs. Wagnon married
William Loyce Wagnon on Nov. 22, 1930, in Marietta, Okla. They moved to Odessa in 1950 from May. She worked for several stores in Odessa as a clerk and worked for the church for several years. She loved to entertain her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She liked to do needlework. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and one sister.
Mrs. Wagnon is survived by her husband, William L. Wagnon of Odessa; daughter and husband, Joan and Coy Coe of McCamey; sons and wives, Billy and Lynell Wagnon of Odessa and Eddy and Gloria Wagnon of Sunnyvale, Calif.; grandchildren and spouses, Rick and Sandy Coe, Alan and Kim Coe, Cyndi and Pat Cole, Cheri and Joel Dewbre; great-grandchildren, Seth Coe, Sara Coe, Garrett Dewbre and Rebecca Cole.
If desired, Memorial may be made to American Diabetes Association.
Billy E. Miller
ODESSA — Billy Edgar Miller was born Oct. 8, 1934, in Hazelhurst, Miss., to Tom E. and Lucille Simmons Miller. He passed away at his home Nov. 1, 1999.
Graveside services are scheduled for 4 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 4, 1999, at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Tom Allen of Big Spring officiating. Services under the direction of Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.
Mr. Miller came to Odessa around 1950. He graduated from Odessa High School in 1952 and had attended Odessa College. He married
Jerrie Goule on March 18, 1954. They moved to Monahans in 1957 where he was a member of the Jaycees and then moved back to Odessa in 1978.
Billy worked for Amerada-Hess out of their Midland office as a Lease Maintenance Operator, retiring in 1993. He enjoyed gardening, was a very good cook and enjoyed hunting.
He was preceded in death by his wife on Oct. 3, 1999; a brother, Tommy Miller in 1984; and his mother in 1976.
Survivors include his father, Tom E. Miller of Odessa; his daughters, Paula Brazeal and her husband, Con, of Odessa and Toni White and her husband, Robert, also of Odessa; four grandchildren, Amanda and Jared Roach and Niki and Trevor White.
Isavel M. Tavarez
ODESSA — Isavel M. Tavarez was born Feb. 24, 1935, in Loving, N.M., to Seferino and Vicenta Acosta Martinez. She passed away Sunday, Oct. 31, 1999, at her home.
Funeral Mass will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 3, 1999, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Rev. Gilbert Rodriguez officiating. The family will be receiving visitors at their home. Family will be accepting floral arrangements at their home also.
Services are under the direction of Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.
Isavel M. Tavarez grew up in Loving, N.M., and Carlsbad, N.M., then moved to Odessa in 1947. She married
Elias Tavarez in 1952. She was a loving Wife, Mother and Grandmother. Isavel was always willing to help those in need. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
She is survived by her husband, Elias Tavarez; two sons, Elias Tavarez Jr. and Steve Tavarez, both of Odessa; three daughters, Elida Willard, Elodia Gonzales and Leticia Tavarez, all of Odessa; her mother, Vicenta Acosta Martinez; four brothers, Greg Martinez of Los Angeles, Calif., Juan Martinez of Odessa, Placido Martinez of Carlsbad, N.M., and Max Martinez of El Paso; three sisters, Refugia Martinez, Angelica Martinez and Francisca Doporto, all of Carlsbad, N.M.; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Billy Dee Duesler
ODESSA — Billy Dee Duesler was born Jan. 11, 1941, in Clovis, N.M., to George and Ida Mary Duesler. He passed away Tuesday, Nov. 2, 1999, at Medical Center Hospital.
He was preceded in death by his mother and also by his brother, Lloyd.
Services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Thursday at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. The family will receive visitors from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.
Mr. Duesler was a narcotics investigator. He worked for the Andrews Sheriff’s Department and was assigned to the Trans-Pecos Drug Task Force.
Survivors include his wife, Terri Duesler of Odessa; his daughters, Dienna Miller of Elkhart and Emilie Smith of Odessa; one son, Billy Floyd Duesler of the home; his brother, Gary; and his father, George.
Nitza Jan Dorman
ODESSA — Nitza Jan Dorman was called home to be with the Lord on Sunday, Oct. 31. She was born to Charles and Oma McKinzie, April 12, 1930.
Jan lost her father at a very young age and was raised in a Christian home by her mother. She grew up in Comanche and graduated from Comanche High School in 1947.
Jan married
Bob Edward Bowers in December of 1947. They moved to Hobbs, N.M., in 1949, where Bob began working in the oilfields, moving to Odessa in 1961.
Bob preceded her in death in May of 1981, after 33 years of marriage. There were two children born to this union, Sherry Lynn and Shelia Kay. Shelia Kay was reunited with Jesus as an infant.
Jan was married
for the second and final time to Randall Dorman, a very special and loving man who also preceded her in death.
Jan epitomized the honest, hardworking, independent individual of yesteryear, never backing away from any job or task that had to be done. She worked for many years for Woolco and Wal-Mart. At the time of her death she was working for Dillard’s in Odessa. During the last several years, she had worked for Dillard’s in Houston, San Antonio and Corpus Christi, returning to the Odessa Dillard’s in 1997. Jan was much loved and respected by her co-workers at Dillard’s, where she was known as Momma Jan. She considered them her second family.
Jan lived for her family, and was the most loving and giving mother and grandmother "Nanny" that God could ever provide She never forgot an anniversary, holiday or birthday. Sherry Lynn was the apple of her eye and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were at the center of her life.
There will never be another like her. Her legacy of hard work, perseverance and love of family will continue to inspire us and help us through future tough times that life may have in store, until we are all reunited with her in heaven.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sherry and Jimmy Wilson of Odessa; granddaughters and their husbands, Melissa and Erbin Keith of Houston and Shannon and Paul Quigley of Odessa; grandson and wife, David and Brandy Wilson of Monahans; great-grandsons, Austin Wilson Quigley, Conor Keith and Tyler Wilson; granddaughter, Sheridan Keith; sister, Hazel White of Comanche; nephew, Mac Pyburn and wife Para of Comanche, and Mac’s children and grandchildren; and nieces, Doris Pyburn of Comanche and Gina Willamson of Fort Worth.
Pallbearers will be David Wilson, Paul Quigley, Erbin Keith, Mike Wilson, Kevin Wilson, Mac Pyburn, Joel Thompson and Mel Wilson.

Thomas Jerome Loftin
ODESSA — Thomas Jerome Loftin, 68, of Odessa, died Saturday, Oct. 30, 1999, at his residence.
Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 2, 1999, at Sunset Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Jimmy Braswell officiating.
He was born March 5, 1931, in Sunray. He married
Sue Wolf July 21, 1999, in Odessa.
Mr. Loftin moved to Odessa in 1981 from Visalia, Calif. He was an Army veteran. He was a residential painter. He was Protestant.
He was preceded in death by his previous wife, Katie Loftin.
Survivors include his wife, Sue Wolf Loftin of Odessa; sons, Jerry Loftin and wife, Anita, and Roger Loftin, all of Odessa; brothers, Norman Loftin of Corona, Calif., and Darryl Loftin of Sacramento, Calif.; two grandchildren, Merlin and Kendra Loftin of Odessa.
