Jamie Gladden
ODESSA — Jamie Gladden passed away on Oct. 24, 1999, at the age of 22, following a brief illness. He was born on Aug. 3, 1977, in Odessa.
Jamie was a lifetime resident of Odessa. He was a big man in stature as well as heart. He was well loved by family and friends.
He was on the Permian High School Golf team and won numerous Mission Club championships for Junior Optimist golf. He was an avid sports enthusiast and was nicknamed "Mud Dog" and "Conan" by his comrades. His sports talent was greatly evident in the many trophies that graced his home. He cared greatly for his friends, lending support and an ear to all.
In his younger years, he followed his sister Michelle’s lead and later in life came to follow in his father’s footsteps in career and accomplishments. Jamie was very active in First United Methodist Church, participating in the UMYF program, Next Step Bible Study, retreats, ski trips, youth programs and service projects. He was especially talented in computer operations, all self-taught. Jamie was truly a joy, always happy with a prank to pull and a sister to tease and the sunshine of his mother’s life. He was a true "People-Pleaser" and put everyone before himself. He was currently employed by Hanover Compression. He was a member of First United Methodist.
He is survived by his parents, Ralph and Barbara Gladden of Odessa; sister, Michelle Gladden; grandmother, Frances Berkshire, all of Odessa; aunts and uncles, John and Deborah Pankey of Odessa, Roland and Judy Gladden of Odessa and Dr. Jim Berkshire of San Angelo.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 27, 1999, at First Methodist Church with Rev. Donny Williams officiating. Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Marcella Granado Diaz
ODESSA — Marcella Granado Diaz, 61, of Odessa, died Thursday, Oct. 21, 1999, at her residence.
Mass was celebrated Monday, Oct. 25, 1999, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Francis Frey officiating. Burial was at Rose Hill cemetery.
She was born Sept. 19, 1938, in Chisos, Terlingua.
Mrs. Diaz moved to Odessa in 1957 from Midland. She had owned Marcy’s Beauty Shop for the past 30 years and was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her father, Estanislado Granado.
She is survived by her husband, Jesus Diaz of Odessa; sons, Rudy Diaz and Manuel Diaz, both of Odessa, and Stanley Diaz of Midland; daughter, Nancy Garza of Odessa; mother, Maria T. Granado of Midland; brothers, Raul Granado of Midland and Manuel Granado of Irving; 11 grandchildren; and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews.
Services were entrusted to Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
Kenneth Brakeville
ODESSA — Kenneth C. Brakeville, 73, of Odessa, a retired employee of Carr Well Service, died Friday, Oct. 29, 1999, at Medical Center Hospital.
Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Monday at Sunset Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Troy Stevenson officiating. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
He was born in DeQueen, Ark., and moved to Odessa in 1951. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was Baptist.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Kathlyn Brakeville of Odessa; sons, Kenneth R. Brakeville and Jerry P. Brakeville, both of Odessa; brothers, Charles Brakeville of Benton, La., and Bobby Don Brakeville of DeQueen, Ark.; and one granddaughter.
Patricia Elrod
ODESSA — Patricia "Patty" Whittenburg Elrod, 62, of Odessa, died Wednesday, Oct. 27, 1999, at Medical Center Hospital.
Services will be at 1 p.m. today at First United Methodist Church with the Revs. Steve Trout and Donnie Williams officiating. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
She was born in Ector County and was a lifelong resident of Odessa. She was Methodist.
SURVIVORS: Husband, Thomas T. Elrod of Odessa; son, Thomas W. Elrod of Odessa; daughter, Patricia Elrod of Odessa; father, R.B. "Dick" Whittenburg of Odessa; brother, Richard B. Whittenburg Jr. of Lubbock; and one grandchild.
Johnnie Feeler
LUFKIN — Johnnie N. Feeler, 73, of Lufkin, a retired welder, died Wednesday, Oct. 27, 1999, in a Houston hospital.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. today at Gipson-Metcalf Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Billy Jackson officiating. Burial will be at Berry cemetery. Arrangements by Gipson-Metcalf Funeral Home.
He was born in Breckenridge. He was a member of Oak Grove Assembly of God Church.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Earlene Feeler of Lufkin; sons, Terry D. Feeler of Odessa, Robbie Feeler of Midland and Johnnie Feeler of Crane; daughter, Teena Patz of Aubrey; stepson, Ricky Ford of Kyle; brother, Jack Feeler of Duncanville; 18 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Joe Gray
FORT STOCKTON — Joe A. Gray, 70, of Odessa, a driller, died Thursday, Oct. 28, 1999, in Odessa.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Nathan McBride officiating. Burial will be at East Hill cemetery. Arrangements by Fort Stockton Funeral Home.
He was born in Pocaset and has lived in Fort Stockton since 1957. He was Baptist.

Alfredo Matta
BALMORHEA — Alfredo Matta, 75, of Balmorhea, employee of the Texas Department of Transportation, died Thursday, Oct. 28, 1999, in Balmorhea.
Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. today at Christ the King Catholic Church. Burial will be at Balmorhea cemetery. Arrangements by Martinez Funeral Home.
He was born in Balmorhea and was a lifelong resident. He was a Navy veteran. He was Catholic.

Robert Parks
ODESSA — Robert Eugene Parks, 49, of Odessa, a painter, died Wednesday, Oct. 27, 1999, at his residence.
Services will be at 10 a.m. today in the Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors chapel with the Rev. Fred Davilla officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.
He was born in El Paso and moved to Odessa in 1979. He was Baptist.
He is survived by his wife, Deborah Dee Parks of Odessa; sons, Bryan Reid Parks of Lubbock and Casey Wade Parks of Odessa; daughter, Holly Marie Parks of Odessa; brother, B.J. Parks of Carrollton.
J.R. Stanley
ODESSA — J.R. "Stoop" Stanley, 70, of Odessa, died Friday, Oct. 29, 1999, at Medical Center Hospital.
Services are pending with Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
Billie Jean Allen
COLEMAN — Billie Jean Allen, 70, of Odessa, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Sunday afternoon at her home.
She was born June 24, 1929, in Callahan County.
She married
Ralph Milton Allen on May 10, 1947, in Merkel.
They moved from Coleman to Odessa in 1976.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Sam Jordan and Brother Jimmy Dennis officiating.
She will be put to rest in Rough Creek cemetery in Novice, immediately following the services.
She is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Milton Allen of Odessa; a son, Don Allen, and his wife Victoria of Coleman; two daughters, Peggy Giba of Odessa and Pam Alexander and her husband J. D. of Odessa; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Lynn SteakIey of Weatherford and Howard SteakIey of Abilene; two sisters, Sue Gibson of Farmington, N.M., and Jerri Sterling of Spanish Fort.
She was loved and will be missed by all, but we know that we will see her again one day soon in that big beautiful mansion in the sky.
The family will be at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. for visitation.
Stevens Funeral Home in Coleman is handling all of the arrangements.
