Joe Alvin Quain
ODESSA — Joe Alvin Quain, 82, of Odessa, died Oct. 12, 1999, at Medical Center Hospital. He was born Sept. 2, 1917, in San Saba County.
Mr. Quain moved to Odessa from Hobbs, N.M., in the late 40’s. He was a retired roughneck and veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army. He was a Baptist.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Nora Lee Otte; and brothers, Buster and Pete Quain.
Survivors include a brother, Roderick Quain of Richland Springs; sisters, Marie Chesser and Josie Hughes, both of Odessa; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 15, 1999, at Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors with the Rev. David Atkins officiating. Interment with follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Alfonso Rico
EL PASO — Alfonso P. Rico, 75, of Phoenix, a retired real estate agent, died Sunday, April 18, 1999, in Phoenix after a brief illness.
Mass was celebrated at St. Pius Catholic Church. Burial was in Fort Bliss National cemetery.
He was born in Alpine. He was an Army veteran and was Catholic.
SURVIVORS: Sons, Roy Rico of Wisconsin, Alfonso Rico Jr. of Austin and Robby Rico of El Paso; sisters, Elfida Torres, Ofelia Hinojos, Romelia Acosta, Socorro Cordova, all of Odessa, and Aurora Calderon of Dallas; brothers, Mariano Rico, Arturo Rico and Thomas Juarez, all of Odessa; and several grandchildren.
Gertrude Cessna
MIDLAND — Gertrude L. Cessna, 86, of Crane, a homemaker, died Thursday, April 22, 1999, at Medical Center Hospital.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Tabernacle Baptist Church with the Rev. Lyndel Lee officiating. Burial will be at Crane County cemetery. Arrangements by Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home.
She was born in Sumner, Ill., and had lived in Crane since 1962. She was Baptist.
SURVIVORS: Daughter, Sonya Sparks-Grissom of Crane; sons, Larry Doyle Cessna of Bumpass, Va., Lawrence Ray Cessna of Conroe and Keith Alan Cessna of Austin; brother, Carson Taylor of New Albany, Ind.; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Dwight Treeby
ODESSA — Dwight Lowell Treeby, 89, of Odessa, a retired employee of Electrolux Vacuum Cleaners, died Friday, April 23, 1999, at his residence.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at First Assembly of God Church with the Revs. Norman Owens, Paul Thompson and Wayne Woody officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.
He was born in Carpenter, S.D., and had lived in Odessa since 1975. He was a member of the Assembly of God church.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Mary Arlene Peck Treeby of Odessa; daughter, Betty Joyce Copeland of Odessa; son, William David Treeby of River Ridge; sister, Lois Davies of Elkander, Iowa; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

ODESSA — Mary Benton, 75, of Odessa, a retired bookkeeper, died Wednesday, April 21, 1999, at Medical Center Hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. today at Asbury United Methodist Church with the Rev. Tracy Wilson officiating. Burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Duncan Memorial cemetery in Duncan, Okla. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home. She was born in Comanche, Okla. She was Methodist.

MORTON — Nancy Lou Green Craighead, 63, of Morton, a secretary, died Thursday, April 22, 1999, at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock.

ODESSA — Cecil T. Hines, 83, of Odessa died Wednesday, April 21, 1999, at Medical center Hospital.

He was born in Haskell County and moved to Odessa in 1948 from Abilene. He was a Navy veteran.

ODESSA — Faye Lee Connell, 88, of Paris, Texas, a retired nurse, died Monday, April 19, 1999, in a Paris, Texas, nursing home.

She was born in Clyde and moved to Paris five years ago from Odessa. She was Presbyterian.
