Red McCrury Jr.
ODESSA — Red McCrury Jr., 74, of Odessa, died Tuesday, Nov. 9, 1999, at his residence. He was born March 13, 1925, in Bogata. He married
Wanda Puckett Sept. 30, 1946, in Garland.
Mr. McCrury served in the U.S. Navy in World War II. He lived in Odessa 29 years and was a member of Sunset Heights Baptist Church. He loved to fish and work with his hands. He loved to talk and tell stories and to fix things. If you left anything at his home, he would paint it red.
He is preceded in death by a daughter, Goneva McCrury, in 1950; his parents, two sisters and a grandchild.
Mr. McCrury is survived by his wife, Wanda McCrury of Odessa; sons, Michael Wayne McCrury, Terry McCrury and wife Kim, and Tommy Dale McCrury and wife Cheryl, all of Odessa; daughters, Margie Martinez and husband Jesse of Wills Point, Susan McCrury, Kaye Scott and husband Gerald of Odessa, Donna Crumpton and husband Evan of Odessa; 16 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brothers, Henry McCrury of Lexington and Dalton McCrury of Somerset; sisters, Patsy Jumper of Andrews, Celestine Rupard of Garland, Maxine Johnson of Carlsbad, N.M., and Allene Brumley of Centerville.
Family visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 11, 1999, at Sunset Heights Baptist Church with the Rev. Jess Little officiating. Interment will follow at Andrews cemetery.
Pallbearers will be H.V. Clark, A.L. Ward, Doyle Ford, Steve Ford, David Gray and Lee McClendon.
If desired, Memorials may be made to Sunset Heights Baptist Church parking lot fund.

Jake Yates
ODESSA — Jake Yates, 84, of Odessa, died Monday, Nov. 8, 1999, at Medical Center Hospital.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Sunset Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Clydel Chapman officiating.
He was born March 28, 1915, in Detroit, Texas. He married
Ella Mae Blue in November 1940, in Lovington, N.M.
Mr. Yates moved to Odessa in 1934 from Lovington. He owned and managed Jake Yates Salvage Yard. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a Methodist.
He was preceded in death by his wife Ella in 1994.
Survivors include his daughter, Stella Birchfield of Houston; son, Steve Yates of Houston; two grandchildren, Paula Birchfield and Dewayne Birchfield, both of Houston; one great-grandchild, Justin Birchfield of Houston.

Irma Reed
ODESSA — Irma Reed, 93, of Dallas, formerly of North Little Rock, Ark., passed away October 16, 1999, at a local hospital. She was born Feb. 13, 1906, in Marshfield, Mo.
Mrs. Reed retired from Arkansas Baptist Hospital in 1971 after several years of service. She was a member of the Eastern Star of Levy for a number of years. Mrs. Reed was an 85-year resident of Arkansas.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Joe J. Reed; her son, Joe J. Reed, Jr.; brother, John Blazor; and her parents, S.A. and Florence Blazor.
Mrs. Reed is survived by her sons, Charles Reed and wife Dixie and Ronnie Reed, all of Dallas; her daughter Linda Hensley and husband Malcolm of Odessa; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren; along with several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at a later date in North Little Rock, Ark.
Charline E. "Char" BrowneIl
ODESSA — Charline E. "Char" BrowneIl, 91, of Odessa, passed away Sunday, Nov. 7, 1999, at her residence.
Mrs. BrowneIl was born Aug. 18, 1908, in Hunboldt, Kan. She married
Clifford BrowneIl on Jan. 24, 1943, in Kansas City, Mo., and he preceded her in death on Oct. 4, 1990.
She moved to Odessa in 1951 from Topeka, Kan., and worked as a secretary for Western Tank and later for First Presbyterian Church. She had been a member of the First Presbyterian Church since May 27, 1951, and was a member of Presbyterian Women, Odessa Study and Bridge Club, Globe Theater, Permian Playhouse and the D.A.R.
Survivors include her cousins, Harold Hall of Big Spring, Rinda Wesson of Salado and Cindy Bartlett and her husband Jim, of Kuwait; niece, Susie Stephenson of Vero Beach, Fla.; nephews, Pat Dustin, Larry Dustin, Mike Dustin and Jim Dustin; and her beloved companion, Mary Price of Odessa.
Memorial services are scheduled for 2 p.m. today at First Presbyterian Church with Dr. Philip W. McLarty officiating. Interment will be at in Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Margie Dean Everett
ODESSA — Margie Dean Everett, 73, of Odessa, passed away Saturday, Nov. 6, 1999, in a local hospital.
Mrs. Everett was born May, 17, 1926, in Knox City. She married
Stanley Everett Sept. 15, 1944, in Winchester, Va., and he preceded her in death on October 28, 1990. She had been a longtime resident of Kermit and moved to Odessa in 1990. She was a homemaker and mother and a member of Immanuel Baptist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star.
She is survived by three sons, Phil Everett and his wife, Sara, of Round Rock, Stanley Everett II and his wife, Portia, of Cedar Park and Charles Everett and his wife, Terri, of Odessa; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren
Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m. today at Immanuel Baptist Church with the Rev. Mark Riley and David Howard officiating. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Winkler County cemetery.
The family requests memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association.

Nina Dawson Orr
SAN BENITO — Graveside services were held in San Benito, Oct. 30, 1999, for Nina Dawson Orr, who passed away Oct. 28, 1999, at the home of her daughter, Carolyn Orr, in Dallas at the age of 101.
Nina Orr was born March 14, 1898, in Claiborne Parrish, La., the fifth of 10 children. After the family moved to the Rio Grande Valley, she graduated from San Benito High School and then attended the University of Texas. In 1919, she taught school in Odessa before her marriage to Mitchell F. Orr in 1921.
Gran’Nina lived in Monahans from 1978 to 1993 with her son Robert Orr, and after her daughter Carolyn returned from the Mission field in Ecuador in 1993, she moved to Dallas to be with her. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Monahans and a member of the Gleaners Sunday school Class.
Nina Orr is survived by two daughters, Betty Yarbrough of Fort Worth and Carolyn Orr of Dallas; a son, Robert Orr of Monahans and Ruidoso, N.M.; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
A son, William W. Orr, preceded her in death in 1990.
Michael Wayne SarreIs
ODESSA — Michael Wayne SarreIs was born Feb. 9, 1962, in Odessa. He passed away peacefully on November 6, 1999, in Tijeras, N.M.
Services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Sunset Chapel with the Rev. Al Workman, of Temple Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens under the direction of Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.
The family will receive visitors from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mike grew up in Odessa where he attended Hood and Permian High School.
He had lived in Albuquerque, N.M., for about seven years and had returned there recently after three years back in Odessa. He was an independent carpenter/painter and enjoyed working with his hands. He loved the outdoors, animals, camping and especially being in the mountains. He was affectionately known as "Bear" by his friends.
Survivors include his parents, Dale Sarrels of Andrews and Vicky Simpson of Odessa: his sisters, Anita Harris and her husband David, and Julie Goodson and her husband Tim, all of Odessa; his maternal grandmother, Jessie Beardslee of Odessa; and paternal grandmother, Esta Sarrels of Andrews; his uncle, Rick Beardslee of Odessa: nieces and nephews, Austin and Holly Harris, Delanie, Heath and Darby Goodson; his cousins, Jami Black of Odessa, Ricky Beardslee of Crane, Devin Beardslee of Houston and Gary Sarrels of Michigan.
Terry V. Trippet
DALLAS — Terry V. Trippet was born Sept. 3, 1944, in Dallas. He passed away suddenly Sunday, Nov. 7, 1999.
He was a loving husband, father and friend. He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Debby; his son, Tripper; his daughter, Taylor; his sister, Sandra Maxwell and brother-in-law, Perry Maxwell; and numerous cousins.
Terry graduated from Odessa High School in 1962, where he was a basketball All-American. He then attended Texas A&M University on an athletic scholarship where he captained the basketball team in 1967 through 1968 and served as president of the Letterman’s Club. He graduated from A&M in 1969. Terry was an avid outdoorsman, spending time hunting, fishing and ranching; his overall zest for life included his Texas Aggies. Terry’s professional life was spent in real estate and entrepreneurial pursuits. He owned and operated several entertainment venues, notable the Dallas Palace and Southfork Ranch from 1984 to 1990. Terry will be remembered for his warmth, good nature, wit and humor. He was a man’s man with a heart of gold and will be missed by all.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Restland Memorial Chapel.
Open visitation will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 10, 1999, beginning at 11 a.m. at Restland Funeral Home.
