John Tatum
MONAHANS — John Tatum, 56, of Monahans, died Thursday, Oct. 21, 1999, at his residence.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Stephen Swisher officiating. Burial will be at Monahans Memorial cemetery.
He was born Aug. 29, 1943, in Hamilton. He was an Air Force veteran of Vietnam. He was Methodist. He married
Marian Meaders Nov. 28, 1972, in El Paso.
He was president of the Rotary Club, past member of Ward County Appraisal Board, served with the Chamber of Commerce and was the owner of Meaders & Tatum. He was a graduate of Baylor University.
Survivors include his wife, Marian Tatum of Monahans; son, John Ty Tatum of Monahans; daughter, K’Lee Elizabeth Tatum of Waco; parents, Ollie and Hilda Tatum of Hamilton; brother’s and sisters-in law, Herb and Betty Tatum of North Richland Hills, Larry and Olina Tatum of Hamilton, Tim and Carolyn Tatum of Brownwood and Ricky and Robin Tatum of Stepenville; sisters and brothers-in-law, Deb and Jack Sawyer of Plano, Georgia and Larry Arms of Austin, Vicki and Travis Truss of Stephenville, Dee and Jerome Davis of Colleyville and Kathy and Leslie Culbertson of Benbrock; and 22 nieces and nephews.

Ardon Ray Anderson
ODESSA — Ardon Ray Anderson, 56, of Odessa, died Thursday, Oct. 21, 1999, at Medical Center Hospital.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Sunset Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Jim Braswell officiating.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. Sunday.
Ardon was raised in a large loving family of five sisters and two brothers. A loving and giving heart went with him the rest of his life. Ardon was always ready to lend a helping hand to his many friends and loved ones. He lived a happy life enjoying his grandchildren and working as long as he was able. He will be so miss by wife, daughter, grandchildren; brothers, sisters and many, many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ardon "Tuffy" Anderson and Billie Anderson.
Survivors include his wife, Verna of Odessa; daughter, Paula Heldt and husband Joe Heldt of Odessa; brothers, Jimmy Anderson and Mike Anderson, both of Odessa; sisters, Sharon Dyson, Carolyn Anderson, Helen Starr, Wanda Ralston and Glenda McClain, all of Odessa; and grandchildren, Dustin Ray and Hannah.

Helen Barton Snyder
ODESSA — Helen Barton Snyder, wife of Dale Snyder of Odessa, passed away Oct. 22, 1999, at 10:28 a.m.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Sam Jordan and J.T. Pugh officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Helen Barton Snyder was born June 22, 1921, in McKeesport Penn., to John and Phillemina Obringer.
Helen resided in Odessa for the past 44 plus years. Helen was head buyer in ladies ware for the Model Shop, first located in Sherwood Village and later in their newer store at Grandview Avenue.
Helen is survived by her husband Dale Snyder; one sister, Madie Burkenheiser of Lancaster Penn.; with several cousins. Also surviving, one daughter, Beverly Watson, and her husband, Jesse Watson; she has one grandson Ricky Watson; one granddaughter Necia and her husband Cannon Perdue; four great grandchildren, Shane, Sean, Stephen and Sheldon; and four stepgreat-grandchildren.
From Dale’s side of his family are nine children; one preceded Helen in death, eight surviving; and his grandchildren.
Helen was preceded in death by her son, Billy Hale.
Helen leaves a large group of friends who cared and shared good times with her, but now she has departed to be with the Lord and the Heavenly Host.
Dennis Lee Arends
ODESSA — Dennis Lee Arends was born Nov. 8, 1946, in Sioux Falls, S.D., to Clarence and Claudie Arends. He passed away at his residence in Houston, Oct. 19, 1999.
Graveside services will be at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Odessa with Rev. Kevin Strempke officiating. Services are under the direction of Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.
Mr. Arends graduated from Permian High School in 1965. He served in the Navy for eight years and was stationed on the U.S. Ranger during the Vietnam War. He had been a resident of Houston since 1978.
Survivors include his son, Dennis Lee Arends II of Memphis, Tenn.; his daughter, Carolyn Torvik of Walls, Miss.; his parents, Clarence and Claudie Arends of Odessa; his sister, Janice Stephens of Odessa; and two grandchildren.
Janie Lorene Allison
ODESSA — Janie Lorene Allison, 68, of Odessa, died Oct. 19, 1999, in Shreveport, La. She was born March 13, 1917, in Falls County. She married
Ellison S. Allison Dec. 11, 1939, in Seminole.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Chapel of Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors with Rev. Robert Fletcher officiating. Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.
Mrs. Allison moved to Odessa in 1947 from Seminole. She was a homemaker and a member of Grandview Church of God.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ellison Allison, July 7, 1988.
She is survived by her sons, Larry G. Allison of Carlsbad, N.M., and Jerry Wayne Allison of Midland; daughter, Patricia Ann Wilson of Shreveport, La.; sisters, Betty Lou Stroope of Waxahachie and Claudetta Ashinhurst of Jacksboro; brother, Charles A. "Jack" Warnecke of Kermit; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; and five stepgreat-grandchildren.
Kayden Todd McDonald
ODESSA — Kayden Todd McDonald, infant son of Todd and Michelle McDonald, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 19, 1999, at Odessa Regional Hospital. He was born Oct. 19, 1999.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Sunset Memorial Gardens with the Pastor Jack Oden officiating. Arrangements are by Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.
Kayden is survived by his parents, Todd and Michelle McDonald of Odessa; grandparents, Larry and Sheila Pendleton of Odessa, Nick and Diane Pappas of North Carolina, and Al and B.J. Jimmie Doyle Morris
MIDLAND — Graveside services for Doyle "JD" Morris, a longtime resident of Odessa, will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Resthaven Memorial Park in Midland with the Rev. Tom Hiser officiating.
Family and friends’ visitation will be at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday.
JD went to be with the Lord Oct. 20, 1999, at Medical Center Hospital at the age of 89. He was born on April 6, 1910, in Haskell, Okla., and grew up in Broken Arrow, Okla., and Tahlequah, Okla.
He worked in mechanical maintenance for Phillips Petroleum Company Western Division for 39 years.
He married
Bess Roberts Henley in Lovington, N.M., July 8, 1935, and lived in Oil Center, N.M., before moving to the Sprayberry plant in 1952 and then to Odessa in 1956.
Bess preceded him in death in July 1986. A son, Frankie Morris, also preceded him in death.
Mr. Morris married
Gladys Gosnell in January of 1988 and they lived in Tahlequah, Okla., until June 1999, when he returned to Odessa.
Survivors included his wife, Gladys, of Tahlequah, Okla.; two sons and their spouses, Jerry and Pat Morris and Jack and Helen Morris, both of Odessa; and one sister, Callye Stowell of Tahlequah, Okla. He is also survived by grandchildren, Clay Self, Cliff Self, Casey Morris, Carlyn Morris, Jimmy Morris, Janette Midkiff; and eight great-grandchildren.

Maximino Jacquez
ODESSA — Maximino Jacquez, 74, of Odessa, a pipeline fitter, died Tuesday, Oct. 19, 1999, at Medical Center Hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. today at Templo Alpha Omega with the Rev. Sam Ramirez officiating. Burial will be at Rose Hill cemetery. Arrangements by Martinez Funeral Home.
Public visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. today at Martinez Funeral Home Chapel.
He was born July 8, 1925, in Imperial. He was a member of Templo Alpha Omega Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.
Survivors include his brothers, Elauterio Jacquez of Van Horn and Nestor Jacquez Sr. of Fort Stockton; sister, Margarita Amparano and Gloria Jacquez, both of La Luz, N.M.; seven grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
