Brandon Shipley
ODESSA — Brandon Lee Shipley, 12, of Odessa died Saturday, Jan. 15, 2000, at Cook’s Children’s Hospital in Fort Worth. He was born Nov. 13, 1987, in Odessa.
He attended L.B.J. Elementary School and was a lifelong resident of Odessa. Brandon was a very loving, caring, tender-hearted young man. He loved to make others smile and laugh, and he was often more concerned for others than himself. He was a big fan of baseball and football and loved to play both.
Some of Brandon’s favorite things to do were to fish and play golf with his dad. And he loved to cook, with and without the help of his mom. He loved to go on family outings to the lake, camp, ride jet skis and ride in the boat. Brandon loved to draw and kept a book of his work; he also liked to do wood working projects. He enjoyed the computer and making new friends on the Internet. He never met anyone he couldn’t talk to, and he was able to get on your level. If you were 2 or 92, he could carry on the appropriate conversation.
One of Brandon’s new loves was learning to play the guitar, and he was a big George Strait fan. Brandon loved people and wanted to help anyone in pain; he has helped many now by being an organ donor. Brandon provided everyone with laughter.

Diohnna Vaughn
ODESSA — Diohnna Shelee "Oni" Vaughn, 19, of Odessa was born July 27, 1980.
She was one of God’s special blessings given to us on earth. Diohnna left us to go of her heavenly home, Jan. 16, 2000. Oni had strength, resilience and endurance that was astonishing to each of us.
While she touched many hearts and lives in her lifetime, she lived to be touched, talked to, held and, most of all, loved. Oni loved rainbows, blue skies, sunny days, warm fuzzy puppies and kittens, music, laughter, snuggles, hugs, and kisses.
Her loving presence will be greatly missed by many, but her lovely memory will be forever treasured in our hearts. We can take comfort in knowing that Oni is in her heavenly body riding over rainbows, dancing on clouds and giggling all the while, as girls often do.
Oni is survived by her mother, Bobble Jean Davis-Vaughn; father and step-mother, Ronnie and Gwen Vaughn; grandparents, Johnnie and Ed Davis; Bea and Ray Bailey; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, teachers, care providers and friends.
Please join us to commemorate Oni’s life at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2000, in the chapel of Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.
