Adelina Arellano Nunez
ODESSA — Adelina Arellano Nunez, 87, of Odessa, a homemaker, died Friday, Jan. 28, 2000, at Medical Center Hospital.
She was born July 17, 1912 in San Antonio. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Chruch and a Member of the Legion of Mary.
A rosary will be said Sunday, Jan. 30, at 7:30 p.m.
Burial Services are scheduled for 2 p.m., Monday, Jan. 31, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Odessa with the Rev. Fidelo Lugo officiating.
Interment will follow at the Ector County cemetery.
Survivors include sons Pedro Nunez of Wichita Falls; Juan Antonio Nunez of Odessa; daughters Martha Samaniego, Rosa Martinez, Maria Garcia and Alicia Ceniceros all of Odessa and Gloria Esparza of El Paso.
She is preceded in death by husband, Ruperto Nunez; father, Basililo Arrellano; mother, Antonia Lopez and son, Ruperto Nunez Jr.

Juan M. Zepeda
MIDLAND — Juan M. Zepeda was born January 11, 1958, in Sanderson, Texas, to Juan H. and Julia (Munoz) Zepeda. He attended school in Sanderson and graduated from Fort Stockton High School in 1978. He was employed with the Texas Highway Department in Fort Stockton from 1980 until 1989, and in Odessa from 1989 until 1997.
He retired in August of 1997 and was awarded 17 years of "no injury" with the Highway Department.
He was preceded in death by his father, Juan Zepeda on January 7, 1958 and by his mother Julia Munoz Zepeda on January 23, 1979.
Survivors include a brother, Ernesto Zepeda and his wife, Lupe from Midland; three sisters, Irma Gonzales and her husband, Roman, from Midland, Gloria Jurado and her husband, Aurturo, from Odessa and Berta Barron and her husband, Domingo, from Fort Stockton; an Aunt and Uncle, Leonor and Elizandro Pridgen from Odessa; four nephews; three nieces; three great nephews and one great niece.
Rosary will be said Monday at 7 p.m. in the Ellis Funeral Home Chapel in Midland, Texas.
Funeral Services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Tuesday in St. James Catholic Church in Sanderson, Texas with Father Art Flores officiating.
Burial will follow in Santa Rita cemetery. Ellis Funeral Home in Midland is in charge of the arrangements. Pallbearers will be Donnie Gonzalez, Gilbert Gonzalez, Jesse Barron, Robert Jurado, Sergio Pridgen and Javier Valenzuela.

Antonio R. Moreno
ODESSA — Antonio R. Moreno, 61 years of age, passed away on Wednesday, March 1, 2000, in Temple after a lengthy illness.
He was born on April 18, 1938, in Asienda de Orientales, San Carlos, Chihuahua, Mexico.
He is survived by his wife, Cruz Moreno of Odessa; son, Ramon Moreno of Odessa; daughters, Silvia Montoya, Eva Moreno and Norma Castillo, all of Odessa; brother, Angel Moreno of Odessa; sister, Gregoria Calbillo of Snyder; grandchildren, Enrique Montoya Jr., Guillermo Montoya, Celeste Moreno, Flor Montoya, Chris Moreno, Nydia Castillo, Blanca Castillo, Natalie Castillo and Andrea Castillo.
Visitation will be today from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. at Odessa Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, March 6, 2000, at Primera Iglesia Bautista, 2111 W. 22nd St., with the Revs. Joel Amaro and J.M. Garcia officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill cemetery.

Lorayne Brewer
HOUSTON — Lorayne Brewer, 92, died Thursday, Feb. 24, 2000, at Parks Methodist Retirement Village.
Graveside services were held Feb. 28, 2000, at Forest Park Lawndale.
Lorayne was born Feb. 2, 1908, in Fairfield. She married
Orien Chauncey Brewer in Houston in 1939. They had one daughter, Mary Lou. Lorayne was preceded in death by her husband Feb. 25, 1947.
After her retirement from Entex in Houston, she moved to Kingsland. For the last seven years she was a resident of Parks Methodist Retirement Village.
Lorayne was a 49-year member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Her favorite pastime was playing the piano for her friends at Sherwood Place and Parks Methodist Retirement Village.
Survivors include her daughter, Mary Lou Holcombe and husband, John, of Odessa; granddaughter, Susan Jones and husband, Mark, of Fort Worth; sister, Dorothy Rader of Houston; and nieces, Judy Wiggins and Frances McCarthy, both of Houston.
Cleve E. Ales
ODESSA — Cleve E. Ales, 63, of Odessa, died Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2000, at Medical Center Hospital.
His services will be held 10 a.m. Friday at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church with the Revs. Mark Woodruff and James Bridges officiating. Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. There will be a rosary at 7 p.m. today at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel.
Cleve E. Ales was born Oct. 19, 1936, in Gladewater to Dick and Cleo Ales.
He lived in Hobbs, N.M., most of his life. He attended schools there and graduated from Hobbs High School and went into the National Guard Reserves.
Cleve married
Ruth Gonzalez in Hobbs in 1955. They had three children.
He worked as a salesman for different oil-related companies in the Southeastern New Mexico and West Texas areas. In 1993 he moved to Odessa.
In 1993 he married
Emma Martinez in Odessa. He was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Council 8773 and Knights of Columbus Patriotic Degree William B. Lensing Assembly.
He was very active and did volunteer work in the church, Knights of Columbus, Catholic Charities and the Permian Basin Food Bank.
Cleve was preceded in death by his parents, Dick and Cleo Ales, and his wife, Ruth.
Survivors are his wife, Emma; sons, Paul Ales of Bryan, Cleve Ales Jr. of College Station, Dennis Martinez of Spring, Daniel Martinez of Irving and Rudy Martinez of Midland; daughter, Linda Ales Reynolds of Odessa; several grandchildren; sister, Vickie Branch of Odessa; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers are Gene Pickens, James Dusckas, Edward Nunez, Gene Walters, Richard Fierro, Charles Barrett and John Strojek.
Honorary pallbearers are members of Knights of Columbus Patriotic Degree William B. Lensing Assembly and Council 8773.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the West Texas Cancer Center, 600 N. Grant Ave., Odessa, Texas, 79761.

Katherine O’Neal
ODESSA — Katherine O’Neal, 85, of Odessa died Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2000, at Medical Center Hospital.
She was born May 11, 1914, in Brownwood and married
H. A. O’Neal, Dec. 3, 1932, in Coleman. They moved to Odessa in 1946 from Sundown. She was a homemaker and member of Sherwood Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, H.A., Nov. 10, 1999.
Survivors include her sons, Bob O’Neal of Richardson and J.D. O’Neal of Odessa; daughter, Zana Fryman of Odessa; and sister, Helen Schott of Brownwood; 14 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 26, 2000, in the chapel of Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors with the Rev. Tom Hiser officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
