Verlon Stone

ODESSA — Verlon Amiel Stone, 52, of Odessa died Saturday, February 12, 2000 at Medical Center Hospital.

Services will be 1 p.m. Monday at the Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Services entrusted to Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

He was born July 19, 1947, in Eagle Pass, Texas. He married Sandi Cannefax on October 15, 1971, in Odessa.

Mr. Stone came to Odessa in 1955. He worked for the E.C.I.S.D. for the past 13 years in the electrical maintenance department. Verlon was an avid fisherman and enjoyed being around family and friends; he was always the life of the party. He was a Baptist.

He is survived by his wife, Sandi Stone of Odessa; son, Ryan Stone and wife, Sondra, of Odessa; daughter, Kelvi Kirby and husband, John, of Odessa; brother, Harlon Stone of Dallas; sisters, Peggy Wilkey of Dallas, Oretta Stone of Seymore, Delores Stone of Odessa; grandchildren, Kaeli Brooke Kirby and Kenze Amiel Kirby; and several nieces and nephews.

William Chambers

IRAAN — William (Bubba) Douglas Chambers, 23, of Littleton, Colo., formerly of Iraan, passed away Thursday, February 10, 2000, at Pecos County General Hospital. Bubba was a Tower Techni-cian.

He was full of love and laughter, living life to its fullest. He was a blessing, and he will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, February 15, 2000, at First Baptist Church in Iraan, with the Rev. Harold Durham and the Rev. Dean Gressett officiating with interment to follow at Restland cemetery. All services are under the direction of Richard W. Box Funeral Home of Iraan.

William was born in Big Lake, Texas, on November 13, 1976.

Bubba is survived by his loving: father and stepmother, George and Sheryl Chambers of Ft. Stockton; mother and stepfather, Teresa and Ronald Quast of Buford, Wyo.; stepmother and stepfather, Ginger and Andy Keyes of Rankin; grandparents, James Webb of Blackwell, Clodean Chambers of Las Cruces, N.M.; stepgrandparents, Carl and Doris Williams of Iraan, sisters, Christie and husband, Pat Martinez, of Floresville, Detra and husband Adam Rodriguez of Sterling City; two brothers, James Ray Chamber of Iraan, Cody Wayne Chambers of Rankin; three stepsisters, Dawn Calzada, Deiree Kay, Summer Gressett; two stepbrothers, Randy Chambers and Josh Keyes; numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be James Ray Chambers, Cody Cham-bers, Bruce Chambers, Dallas Chambers, James Williams, Ricky Williams, Pat Martinez, Jimmy Quast and Randy Chambers.

Lahoma Abbott

ANDREWS — Lahoma P. Abbott, 79, of Andrews, a homemaker, died Saturday, March 4, 2000, at her residence.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Andrews Old cemetery with the Rev. Doug Kello officiating. Arrangements by McNett Funeral Home.

She was born in Mannsville, Okla. She was Baptist.

SURVIVORS: Son, Jim Abbott of Seminole; daughters, Inaette Rider of Pagosa Springs, Colo., and Christy Torres of Andrews; brother, John Peterman of Andrews; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Estanislado Estrada

MARATHON — Estanislado "Taloe" Estrada, 75, of Marathon, retired employee of Big Bend National Park, died Saturday, March 4, 2000, in Odessa.

Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. today at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Burial will be at Marathon cemetery. Arrangements by Geeslin Funeral Home.

He was born in Marathon.

SURVIVORS: Wife, Elisa Estrada of Marathon; sons, Ernesto Estrada of Marfa, Bobby Estrada of Marathon, George Estrada of Sanderson, Miguel Estrada of Globe, Ariz., Rudy Fierro of Odessa; daughter, Mary Carol Fierro of Van Horn; brother, Abundio Estrada of Del Rio; sister, Matiana Lopez of El Paso; 14 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Ida Montgomery

FORT STOCKTON — Ida Mitchell Montgomery, 101, of Fort Stockton, a homemaker, died Sunday, March 5, 2000, at her residence.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today at Cedar Hill cemetery with the Rev. Larry Krueger officiating. Arrangements by Fort Stockton Funeral Home.

She was born in Ozona and had been a resident of Fort Stockton since 1928. Survivors include nieces and nephews.

John Reed Jr.

ELIASVILLE — John Houston Reed Jr., 74, of Kermit, a retired employee of Tri-Meter, died Sunday, March 5, 2000, at Medical Center Hospital.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Eliasville cemetery. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

He was born in Nolan County. He was an Army veteran.

SURVIVORS: Wife, Maxine Reed of Kermit; sons, Jeffrey Coke Reed of Kermit and John H. Reed III of Kermit; daughter, Rory Ann Doan of Stanton; brother, Neal Reed of Lynn Haven; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Kathy Self

ODESSA — Kathy Dawn Self, 47, a homemaker, died Thursday, March 2, 2000, in Ardmore, Okla.

Services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday at Odessa Funeral Home Angeles Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Fred Davila officiating. Burial will be at Rose Hill cemetery. Arrangements by Odessa Funeral Home Angles Memorial Chapel.

She was born in Odessa and was Baptist.

SURVIVORS: Daughters, Stacie Nabarrette and Stormy Self, both of Odessa; a son, John Self of Odessa; sisters, Debbie Froelich of Alabama and Pat Holmes of Mesquite; brother, Sonny Martin of Marshall; and three grandchildren.

Gilbert Spinks Jr.

ODESSA — Gilbert Spinks Jr., 73, of Odessa, a retired carpenter, died Friday, March 3, 2000, at his residence.

Services will be held at a later date.

He was born in Hawley. He was a Navy veteran of World War II.

SURVIVORS: Sons, Leslie A. Spinks and Richard Spinks, both of Odessa, David Spinks of Monahans; sisters, Betty Goode of Midland and Wanda White of El Paso; and eight grandchildren.

Angelica Velasquez

SEMINOLE — Angelica Velasquez, infant daughter of Angelica Velasquez of Seminole, died Sunday, March 5, 2000, at Memorial Hospital in Seminole.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. today at Gaines County cemetery South with James T. Smith officiating. Arrangements by Boyer Funeral Home.

She was born in Seminole.

SURVIVORS: Mother; brothers, Seraldo and Kiven Velasquez, both of Seminole; sister, Sarah Velasquez of Seminole; grandparents, Vincente and Elizabeth Velasquez and Maria Espinoza, all of Seminole and Maria Luna of Lovington, N.M.

Bobby Boyles

ODESSA — Bobby Oliver Boyes, 67, of Odessa died Monday, March 6, 2000, at his residence.

Services are pending with Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.

Nathaniel Little

ODESSA — Nathaniel Isaac Little, infant son of Sharah Little, died Sunday, March 5, 2000, at Medical Center Hospital.

Services are pending with Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.
