Ezzechiel James Jimenez-Olivas
ODESSA — Ezzechiel James Jimenez-Olivas, son of Jesus "J.J." Jimenez and Maria Ysabelle Olivas, both of Odessa, died Saturday, July 22, 2000, at Medical Center Hospital.
He was born at 11:15 a.m. and died at 12:30 p.m. the same day.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. today at Rose Hill cemetery.
Survivors include his parents; his sister, Abigail Jimenez of Odessa; his grandparents, Ms. Mary "Lolly" Olivas and Robert Olivas Sr. and Esperanza Jimenez, all of Odessa; his great-grandparents, Celia and Jesse Porras of Odessa; and his great-great-grandmother, Dolores Porras of Big Spring.

Rita Pacheco Gomez
ODESSA — Rita Gomez, 85, of Odessa, died Friday, July 24, 2000, at New Horizons Nursing Home. She was born May 22, 1915, in Buena Vista to Francisco and Benita Pacheco.
The talk will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, July 28, 2000, at Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors Chapel with Brother Luther Whitlow officiating. Interment will follow at Rose Hill cemetery.
Mrs. Gomez married
Manuel M. Gomez Dec. 31, 1935, in Fort Stockton. They moved to Odessa in 1950 from Fort Stockton. She was a nurse’s aid for many nursing homes and retired from Medical Center Hospital as a housekeeper. She was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness. She was a loving person who had room for everybody.
She was preceded in death by a son, Daniel Gomez in 1996; three brothers, Marcos, Chon and Sisto Pacheco; and four sisters, Lucia Flores, Marcella Nanez, Gregoria Buneo and Fannie Lopez who died earlier in the morning of July 24.
She is survived by her husband, Manuel M. Gomez of Odessa; sons, Julian Gomez of Seminole, Ventura Gomez of El Cajon, Calif., Sammy Gomez of San Diego, Calif., Robert Gomez of Midland, Bartolo Gomez, Joel Gomez, Reynaldo Gomez and Reymundo Gomez, all of Odessa; daughters, Rachel Romero of San Diego, Calif., Margie Baker of Midland, Janet Carrillo of Andrews and Virginia Garcia of Odessa; sisters, Juanita Mendez of Odessa, Donna Pacheco of Fort Stockton and Hope Weddle of Atlanta; 44 grandchildren; and numerous great- and great-great-grandchildren.

Anna Sue Elliott
ODESSA — Anna Sue Anderson Elliott, 79, died Sunday, July 9, 2000, in Dallas from complications due to strokes.
She was born Jan. 3, 1921, in Midland to Samuel Hollis Anderson and Mertie May Beauchamp Anderson.
Mrs. Elliott was a lifelong resident of Odessa. She was a retired Ector County Independent School District teacher. She was a member of Eastern Star and a lifelong member of the Girl Scouts and the Methodist Church, and she attended Highland Methodist Church. She was a porcelain painting artist. After retiring, she was an extensive national and international traveler.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilburn Elliott, who died Dec. 11, 1972.
She is survived by two daughters, Mertie Ruth Tonjes of Greenville and Patricia E. Ray and husband, Richard, of Irving; two grandchildren, Anthony D. Ray of Tampa, Fla., and Brandi A. Norris of Austin; one great-grandchild, Sydney A. Norris of Austin; two siblings, Lemmah Perry of Marble Falls and Bill Anderson of San Mateo, Calif.
Memorial services will be held for family and friends at 2 p.m. Saturday at Highland United Methodist Church.
Private interment will be at Odessa cemetery.
Services are entrusted to Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
Mildred B. Howard
MIDLAND — Mildred B. Howard, 83, was called to eternal rest July 22, 2000, after a short battle with cancer.
Millie leaves behind a large group of cherished friends and former students who will miss her zest for life and her words of encouragement and wisdom, as well as a ready smile and great sense of humor.
Millie was born March 10, 1917. She grew up in Munday and was valedictorian of her class. She attended Hardin-Simmons University on a scholastic scholarship and graduated with honors. After graduation, she attended the University of Texas where she met and married
Ray O. Howard, deceased. This union produced four children. She was an outstanding mother and instilled in her children intellectual curiosity and creative imagination.
Millie was a charter member of the Midland Community Theater and active in church and community activities. At the time of her death, she served on the boards of the Gatehouse Corporation, the Permian Basin Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse and Clover House.
Millie taught in the Midland Independent School District for more than 30 years and was named Teacher of the Year during this time. She was a major influence on many of today’s community leaders. At the time of her death, she was an adjunct professor at Midland College. She always said, "Many have been my students, all have been my teachers."
For over 41 years, Millie was active in the Alcoholics Anonymous program. From her work with others in the program, she gained a sense of inner strength and serenity, which was a great inspiration to others.
Millie was preceded in death by her son, Zack Howard.
Her survivors include her son, Randy Howard and his wife, Alice, and their children, Andy and Emily, of Austin; her son Marc Howard and his wife, Vickie, and their son, Troy, of Abita Springs, La.; and her daughter, Nancy Howard and her daughter, Heather Fojtasek, of Austin.
The family would like to express thanks to Millie’s niece Mary Lee Hightower for her hospitality and generosity during the time of Millie’s illness. The family would also like to thank everyone for the overwhelming support extended toward Millie from a community of friends and former students whose outpouring of love and warmth gave Millie a living testament of a life well lived.
There will be a memorial service and a celebration of her life well lived at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 29, 2000, at the First Presbyterian Church of Midland with Dr. Jerry Hilton officiating. Following the service, there will be a reception in the church parlor.

Martha Galindo Hudson
EL PASO — Martha Galindo Hudson, 42, of El Paso, formerly of Odessa, died Sunday, July 16, 2000, at Sierra Hospital in El Paso. She was born Jan. 4, 1958, in Odessa.
Martha had resided in El Paso since 1995. She was a multi-talented individual, having a B.S.E.E.T. in elec-
tronic engineering and a cosmetology degree. She was also a gifted artist. She was a loving wife, devoted daughter, sister, aunt and friend.
She is survived by her loving husband of 18 years, Ronald J. Hudson; her mother, Blanca C. Galindo; father, Ramon T. Galindo; brothers, Ramon D. Galindo of Auburn, Wash., Tony Galindo (Mary), Augustine Galindo (Janie), Victor Galindo (Ana), all of Odessa, and Omar Galindo (Lillian) of South Lake; and one sister, Naomi (Jim) Anderson of Fort Davis.
She is also survived by her baptismal God-parents, Remi and Dorothy Ramos of Fort Stockton and her God-parent for Confirmation, Monica V. Monternach of Odessa; 13 nieces and nephews; nine great-nieces and nephews; and several other family members and friends.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 29, 2000, at Martin Funeral Home-West Chapel in El Paso. Private interment will be held at a later date.
A memorial mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 5, 2000, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Odessa.
Marguerite L. Turner
ODESSA — Marguerite Louise Bryan Turner was taken home to be with her Lord on Saturday, July 15, 2000, at her home in Odessa. She was a devoted Christian and witnessed for her Savior when and wherever she had the opportunity. Mrs. Turner loved people and was always there to be of aid or service whenever a need presented itself.
Interment was Wednesday, July 19, 2000, at the Woodlawn Garden of Memories in Houston with Dr. David L. Roberts, a nephew, officiating.
She was born Sept. 24, 1906, in Eagle Pass to Laurance and Hettie May Bryan. Her paternal grandparents were James and Sue Bryan of Dime Box and her maternal grandparents were Hiram and Susan Bond of Eagle Pass.
Mrs. Turner was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse P. Turner; her parents; and most recently her brother, Hubert L. Bryan. A younger sister, Rosa Lee Lucille, age 18 months, and a brother, James Hiram, age 6 years, went to be with their Lord within a week of each other in July 1919. An older sister, Constance May, was taken to her heavenly home Aug. 8, 1905.
In 1924, Mrs. Turner received her business administration degree from Massey Business College in Houston. She was employed in her early working years by Foley Bros., Kincaid Oil Company and worked 14 years for what was at that time Gulf Oil Company Pipeline Division. She was a member of Grace Temple Baptist Church in Dallas and lived approximately 17 years at the United Methodist Retirement Home in Dallas before moving to Odessa.
Mrs. Turner is survived by one sister, Mrs. Peggy B. Roberts and her husband, Lloyd F. Roberts; one brother, William E. Bryan and his wife, Karen Bryan; and her sister-in-law, Mrs. Sybil Bryan. She dearly loved all of her nieces and nephews. They are: Mrs. Barbara Rice and her husband, Jim; Mrs. Barbara Esperza and her husband, David; Mrs. Beverly Kimball and her husband, Charlie; Brenda Bryan; Boyd Bryan; Betsy Bryan; David Roberts and his wife, Jean; Rebecca Georgiades and her husband, David; and Ruth Matheny and her husband, Corey. There are also 18 great-nieces and nephews: Sheri Williams; Melody, Sherrie and Dawn Esperza; Jeremiah, Loraina and Gabrielle Stanley; Jewel Bryan; William, Christina, Adrianna and Caleb Roberts; Kevin, Laura and Matthew Georgiades; and Rachel, Ryan and Jacob Matheny. She had three great-great-nieces and nephews.
Margie was deeply loved and will be missed, but her memory will live on!
