Mariellen Dickerson Peyton
PECOS — Mariellen Dickerson Peyton was born Nov. 9, 1911, in Cleburne. She passed away Friday, July 28, 2000, at the age of 88 in Granbury. She was married
to Daniel Hendricks Peyton, who preceded her in death.
Mary spent her childhood in Cleburne and, after her marriage to Dan in 1940, she moved to Pecos. After receiving a bachelor of arts degree from Texas State College for Women, Mary pioneered her love of art into a lifelong career as a self-taught architectural and interior designer.
She is survived by daughters Susan Peyton Silliman, Ellen Peyton Weinacht and Lisa Peyton Fielder; sisters, Jessie Mae (Ted) Cousins and Rebecca Nell Dickerson; grandchildren, Lou Ellen Lewis Weinacht, Jennifer Weinacht Willigrod, Daniel Peyton Fielder and Timothy Lambert Fielder; and four great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, July 31, 2000, at the First Christian Church in Pecos with the Rev. Clark Ford officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be sent to the American Heart Association, 7272 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, Texas, 75231-4596.

Hailey & Heather Ryan
ODESSA — Hailey Marie and Heather Dawn Ryan, infant daughters of Kelly Ryan of Odessa and Natasha Sutphin of Carlsbad, N.M., died Thursday, July 27, 2000, at Odessa Regional Hospital. They were born July 27 in Odessa.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, July 31, 2000, at Sunset Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Bob Todd officiating.
They were preceded in death by their grandfather, Michael Sutphin Sr.

Herman G. "Hoss" Wells
ODESSA — Herman G. "Hoss" Wells, 65, passed away Friday, July 28, 2000, at Medical Center Hospital after a long courageous fight with diabetes and heart disease. He was born in Durant, Okla., Jan. 31, 1935, to Lavonia and H.D. Wells. He was owner of Wells Radio Service from 1959 to 1984. Herman retired from First State Bank of Odessa in 1997.
Herman is survived by his wife, Lou, and his son, H.M. Wells of Odessa; sister, Bernice Copeland of Dallas; nieces Terri Enloe of Marble Falls and Cathy Kniering of Frisco.
Herman was an avid woodworker and loved to putter in his shop. Herman’s request was that there be no services and that his body be donated to Medical Science in hope of helping someone else.
The family requests memorials for Herman be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Association or the American Heart Association.
The family wants to express their thanks to Dr. Larry Oliver, Dr. Amaram and Dr. Sanford for their efforts to give Herman the best quality of life possible. We will miss you, Hoss.

Charles Floyd Cox
BAYTOWN — Charles F. Cox, 57, of Deer Park, died Saturday, July 29, 2000, in Baytown after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born Sept. 22, 1942, in Houston. He was the son of Charles Byron and Esta Mae Cox. Charlie graduated from San Angelo High School in the early ’60s and went into the Navy for several years. Once he came out of the Navy, he served the Harris County Sheriff’s Department for seven years before going to Huntsville to work as a prison guard for several years. In the late ’70s, he went into the air-conditioning business and in the early ’90s, he started his own air-conditioning business. He will be deeply missed by all of his friends and family.
Charlie is survived by his wife, Kelley D. Cox of Deer Park; daughters and sons-in-law, Kathy and George Leikam of Cypress and Karen and George Morris of Austin; son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Paula Cox of Flower Mound; and three grandchildren, Joshua Leikam and wife Becky, Amanda Leikam and Thomas Martin.

Geraldine Hubbard
KERMIT — After a long and courageous battle with Parkinson’s Disease, Geraldine "Jerry" Hubbard went to be with the Lord July 31, 2000, at the age of 77. Mrs. Hubbard passed away peacefully at her home.
She was born Dec. 16, 1922, to William and Mattie Wade in Hartshorne, Okla. She married
Herbert "Hub" F. Hubbard Aug. 17, 1940, in Wewoka, Okla. They moved to Kermit in 1945 where they raised their three children.
Jerry was a homemaker who enjoyed baking, sewing and crochet. She enjoyed traveling and fishing before she became limited. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Kermit. In 1996, she and Hub moved to Midland to be closer to their children.
Jerry is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Hub Hubbard; three children, Johnny Hubbard and his wife, Debra, of Amarillo, Gerald Hubbard and his wife, Christine, of Midland, and Kathy Barrett of Midland; one sister, Ernestine Brown of Las Vegas; seven grandchildren, Marty Barrett and his wife, Shannon, of Midland, Carl Hubbard of Dallas, Donnie Hubbard and his wife, Stacy, of Arkansas; Juleigh Hubbard of Amarillo, Russell Hubbard of Colorado, Karen Hubbard of Midland and Sybil Hamilton of Midland. She is also survived by seven great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2000, at First Baptist Church in Kermit with burial following at Kermit cemetery. Mrs. Hubbard will lie in state at First Baptist Church in Kermit from 10 a.m. until service time. Arrangements are under the direction of Pipkin Funeral Home in Midland.

Joseph Duane Cakl Deutsch
ODESSA — Joseph Duane Cakl Deutsch was born May 23, 1968, in Lovington, N.M. He moved to Odessa at 2 months and has lived here since. He passed away Aug. 1, 2000, near Monahans.
Services are scheduled for 3 p.m. Friday, August 4, 2000, at the Sunset Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Laura Deaderick of St. John’s Episcopal Church officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Survivors include his wife, Janie; three daughters, Cassie, Alyssa and Brittney, all of Odessa; his mother, Jan Cakl of Odessa; brother, Ross Cakl of Odessa and his wife, Jackie; sister, Susan Cakl of Humble; grandmother, Katy Rotan of Odessa; uncle, Ben Rotan of Austin; sisters-in-law, Marie E. Bonilla and husband, Marcos, Angelica Hermosillo and husband, Socorro, Maria J. Olivas and husband, Hector, and Laura Hermosillo and husband, Vicente, all of Odessa; brother-in-law, Martin Garcia and wife, Maria, of Lovington; mother-in-law, Gregoria Corrujedo of Gruver; and his father-in-law, David Garcia of Odessa.
Joseph lived for his family and had the greatest time of his life taking his girls to soccer games and just loving them. He had many friends and was loved by everyone and will be missed so very much.
Pallbearers will be Socorro Hermosillo, Hector Olivas, Ross Cakl, Joey Narbaez, Kenny Ray Biggerstaff and Ben Rotan.

Ethel Pauline Buecker Burnett
ODESSA — Ethel Pauline Buecker Burnett, 68, of Odessa, died Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2000, at her residence.
She was born in Weverton, Md., March 19, 1932, to Edgar Virts and Blanche Coffman. She had been a resident of Odessa since 1973. She was a member of the Moose Chapter 1456.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Martinez Funeral Home. Viewing will be today from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father; a son, David Lynn Buecker; and two grandchildren.
Survivors include sons, Les Buecker of Austin and Merv Buecker of Hobbs, N.M.; daughters, Paula Bunce and Lori Cuellar and Nita Marrero, all of Odessa, and Lisa Stanton of Tarpon Springs, Fla.; 19 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Pauline Richardson
ODESSA — Pauline Richardson was born March 10, 1929, in Oklahoma. She passed away and went to be with the Lord Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2000, at her residence.
Services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday at the Parkview Church of Christ with Charles Jones and Joe Cross officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Pauline came to Odessa at an early age. She married
Woody Richardson Aug. 1, 1946, in Odessa. She was a longtime member of the Parkview Church of Christ.
Mrs. Richardson was employed with Cobbs Department Store for 15 years. She was a devoted wife and mother and was a creative and very talented person. She was loved dearly by her family. She was a giving person and her house was always open to all that came.
Survivors include her husband, Woody Richardson of Odessa; her daughters, Beverly Armstrong of Fort Worth and Linda Harbison of Odessa; her sons, A.K. "Butch" Richardson of Katy and Ron Richardson of Andrews; her sisters, Wanda Eggleston of Carlsbad, N.M., Faye Morgan of Weatherford, Francis Manley of Odessa and Evelyn Hunt of Alvin; 13 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
The family will receive visitors from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday night at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Odessa Christian School.
