ODESSA — Jose Albidrez Herrera, 66, of Odessa died Friday, July 21, 2000, at Medical Center Hospital.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Saint Joseph Catholic Church. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Monday at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Arrangements by Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.

He was born in Sierra Blanca.

SURVIVORS: Wife, Elvia Vargas Herrera of Odessa; mother, Rosa Albidrez of Odessa; son, Rudy Herrera of Odessa; stepsons, Frank Vega Jr. of Dallas, Raymond Vega of Pecos, and Lee Vega of Odessa; daughters, Sonia Williams of Odessa, Alvessa Lyles of Midland and Elena Herrera of Odessa; stepdaughters, Margie Navarette of Midland, Susan Lujan and Elaine Vega, both of Pecos, and Cecelia Guajardo; brothers, Manuel Herrera of Hobbs, N.M., Frank Herrera Jr. of Santa Rosa, Calif., Greg Herrera and Osbaldo Herrera, both of Odessa, Robert Herrera of Tulsa, Okla.; sisters, Gloria Carrasco of Odessa, Cecilia Valdez of Odessa, Carolina Ramos of Santa Rosa, Calif.; and nine grandchildren.

MIDLAND — Billy Dean Jones, 72, of Tularosa, N.M., a retired Energas service specialist, died Friday, July 21, 2000, in Alamogordo, N.M.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Belmont Baptist Church in Odessa with the Revs. Eugene Ray, Rex Clayton, Dave Ratzlaff and Amon Langston officiating. Burial will be at Resthaven Memorial Park. Arrangements by Hubbard Kelly.

He was born in Stonewall County. He was a longtime Odessa resident .

SURVIVORS: Wife, Mary Jones of Tularosa, N.M.; sons, Kevin Jones of Webster and Kenneth Jones of Abilene; stepson, Brandon Purcella of Chandler, Ariz., stepdaughters, Karen Ghaffari of Centerville, Calif., and JuLynn Jones of Roswell, N.M.; mother, Opal Jones of Hamlin; brother, Clifton Jones of Odessa; five granddaughters and three stepgrandchildren.

Cruz Lujan

ODESSA — Cruz Imelda Lujan, 35, of Odessa, a restaurant cook, died Friday, July 21, 2000, at Medical Center Hospital.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Saint Joseph Catholic Church with the Rev. Fidelo Lugo officiating. Burial will be at Rose Hill cemetery. Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Monday at Odessa Funeral Home Angeles Memorial Chapel. Arrangements by Odessa Funeral Home Angeles Memorial Chapel.

She was born in Ojinaga, Chihuahua, Mexico.

Survivors: Husband, Elizardo S. Lujan Sr. of Odessa; sons, Eleud Lujan, Elizardo Lujan Jr., and Obed Lujan, all of Odessa; daughters, Zaira Lujan of Odessa; father, Francisco Valles Sr. of Ojinaga, Chihuahua, Mexico; mother, Elva Valles of Odessa; brothers, Luis Valles, Isael Lujan and Francisco Valles Jr., all of Odessa, and Mario Valles of Ojinaga, Chihuahua, Mexico; sister, Alma Rosa Hernandez of Odessa; and three grandchildren.

Hortencia Molina

MCCAMEY — Hortencia Q. Molina, 75, of McCamey, died Friday, July 21, 2000 at McCamey Hospital.

Services will be at 10 p.m. Tuesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Rev. Barry McLean officiating. Burial will be at Resthaven cemetery. Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Arrangements by Richard W. Box Funeral Home of McCamey.

She was an Upton County employee.

SURVIVORS: Son, Willie M. Martinez of McCamey; and daughters, Dorothy Martinez of Lewisville, Juanita Franco and Lupe Mesa, both of McCamey; brother, Jose Q. Molina of McCamey; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

ODESSA — Lonnie Jewel Burleson, 83, of Odessa died Saturday, July 22, 2000, at Medical Center Hospital.

ODESSA — Jewel Zeigler, 92, of Odessa died Sunday, July 23, 2000, at her home.

Services are pending with Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.

Wanda Brunson

ODESSA — Wanda Clydean Brunson, 72, of Odessa, a homemaker, died Sunday, July 23, 2000, at Medical Center Hospital.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Sunset Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Clydell Chapman officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.

She was born in Munday.

SURVIVORS: Daughters, Shirley Penn of Arlington and Tammy Patni of Odessa; brother, Glenn Underwood of Plainview; sister, Mary "Maveline" Miller of Gas City, Ind.; and four grandchildren.

MIDLAND — Mildred B. Howard, 83, of Midland, a retired teacher, died Saturday, July 22, 2000, in Midland.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at First Presbyterian Church of Midland with the Rev. Dr. Jerry Hilton officiating. Arrangements by Ellis Funeral Home.

She was born in Scottsdale, Ariz.

SURVIVORS: Sons, Randy Howard of Austin and Marc Howard of Abita Springs, La.; daughter, Nancy Howard of Austin; and four grandchildren.

Reyes Melendez

Fort Stockton — Reyes T. Melendez, 86, of Fort Stockton, a retired farm hand, died Saturday, July 22, 2000, in Odessa.

Mass will be celebrated at 3 p.m. today at St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Rev. David Herrera officiating. Burial will be at St. Joseph cemetery. Arrangements by Fort Stockton Funeral Home.

He was born in Haciendita and had been a resident of Fort Stockton for 20 years. He was Catholic.

SURVIVORS: Sons, Matias Melendez of Phoenix, Luis Melendez of Snow Flake, Ariz., and Roberto Melendez of Fort Stockton; daughter, Lupe Melendez of Lubbock; 18 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.

Ezzechiel Olivas

ODESSA — Ezzechiel James Jimenez Olivas, son of Jesse Jimenez and Maria Olivas of Odessa, died Saturday, July 22, 2000, at Medical Center Hospital.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Rose Hill cemetery. Arrangements by Odessa Funeral Home Angeles Memorial Chapel.

He was born in Odessa. He was Catholic.

SURVIVORS: Parents; sister, Abigail Jimenez of Odessa; grandparents, Mary Olivas and Robert Olivas of Odessa; and great-grandparents, Celia and Jesse Porras and Esperanza Jimenez, all of Odessa.

W.F. Turner

COLEMAN — W.F. "Web" Turner, 81, of Brownwood, a retired welder, died Sunday, July 23, 2000, at Brownwood Regional Hospital in Brownwood.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today at Mount View cemetery with the Rev. Steve Holcomb officiating. Arrangements by Walker Funeral Home of Coleman.

He was born in Oklahoma. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was Baptist.

SURVIVORS: Wife, Melba Swift of Brownwood; daughters, Karen Sue Turner of Odessa, Sally Joe Walton and Peggy Kay Smith, both of Crowley; brother, Wayne Turner of Coleman; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

ODESSA — Rita P. Gomez, 85, of Odessa, died Monday, July 24, 2000, at New Horizons Nursing Home.
