ODESSA - James Larson Potter, 75, a commercial architect, of Odessa died Monday, Sept. 22, 1997, at Medical Center Hospital after a lengthy illness.

He was born in Eastland and had lived in Odessa for 20 years. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of World War II.

KERMIT - Dovie Mae Slaughter, 86, a homemaker, died Sunday, Sept. 21, 1997, in Kermit.
Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Grace Temple Baptist Church with the Rev. Johnny Lee Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Kermit cemetery. Arrangements by Cooper Funeral Chapel Inc. She was born in Ardmore, Okla., and was a 62-year resident of Kermit. She was a member of the Baptist church.

ODESSA - Steve Miller, 49, of Odessa, died Sunday, Sept. 21, 1997, at his residence.

PECOS - Jose Angel Cantu, 70, a retired truck driver, died Sunday, Sept. 21, 1997, at William Beaumont Army Center in El Paso.
Rosary was said Tuesday at Pecos Funeral Home Chapel. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. today at Santa Rosa Catholic Church with the Rev. Antonio Mena officiating. Burial will be at the Greenwood cemetery. Arrangements by Pecos Funeral Home.
He was born in Pearsall and was a lifelong resident of Pecos. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a Catholic.

He was born in Balmorhea and had lived in Pecos since 1954. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a Catholic.

COLEMAN - Frances Livingston Rush, 84, a homemaker, died Monday, Sept. 22, 1997, in Coleman County Medical Center.

She was born in Coleman County and was a lifelong resident of western Coleman. She was a Presbyterian.

She was born in Los Angeles and had lived in Odessa for 22 years. She was a member of the Protestant church.

She was born in Coleman County and moved to Odessa in 1952 from Ballinger. She was a member of the Assembly of God church.

FORT STOCKTON - Carmen B. Flores, 80, a homemaker, died Thursday, Oct. 2, 1997, in Methodist Hospital in San Antonio.

BIG SPRING - Henry Pedro, 76, a retired United Postal Service employee, died Friday, Oct. 3, 1997, in Big Spring.
Rosary will be said at 7 tonight at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel. Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Monday at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Big Spring with the Rev. Jeremiah McCarthy officiating. Burial will be at Trinity Memorial Park.
He was born in Bedford, Ind., and had lived in Big Spring for 35 years before moving to Midland in 1991. He was Catholic and an Army veteran of World War II.
SURVIVORS: Sons, George Pedro of Odessa and William Henry Pedro of Redwood, Ore.; daughter, Betty Munson of Houston; sister, Helen Kochanowski of North Liberty, Ind.; five grandchildren; and one-great-grandchildren.
