He was born in Phoenix, Ariz. He was a member of the Assembly of God church.

SLAPOUT, Okla. - Walter 'Jack' Thornton Armstrong, 93, of Odessa, a retired employee of Amoco Oil Co., died Sunday, Aug. 6, 2000, in Odessa.

He was born near Madison, Okla., and had been a resident of Odessa for 50 years.
