MONAHANS — L.J. Ellison, 87, of Monahans, a retired pumper, died Sunday, Oct. 1, 2000, at Odessa Regional Hospital.

Services will be at 10 a.m. today at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Jeff Box officiating. Burial will be at the Crane County cemetery in Crane. Arrangements by Harkey Funeral Home.

He was born in Smith County.

SURVIVORS: Wife, Lena Ellison of Monahans; daughters, Charline Robinson of the Woodlands, Arlene Clark of Andrews and Betty Standefer of Odessa; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Don Fisher

MONAHANS — Don Nelson Fisher, 20, of Monahans, a roughneck, died Saturday, Sept. 30, 2000, at Medical Center Hospital.

Services will be at 10 a.m. today at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Steve Swisher officiating. Burial will be at Monahans Memorial cemetery. Arrangements by Harkey Funeral Home.

He was born in Andrews. He was Methodist.

SURVIVORS: Mother and stepfather Robin and Mark Smith of Monahans; brothers, Richard Brown of La Place, La., and Joshua Smith of San Angelo; sisters, Dondi Fisher of Odessa, Brandy Ethridge of Monahans, Samantha Fisher of Ravenna, Ohio, and Shayla Smith of San Angelo; and stepgrandparents, Harold and Linda Smith of Iowa Park.

Maxine Goldwire

SANDERSON — Maxine G. Goldwire, 81, of Sanderson, a homemaker, died Friday, Sept. 29, 2000, in Lyme, N.H.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Cedar Grove cemetery with the Rev. Craig Mull officiating. Arrangements by Fort Stockton Funeral Home.

She was born in Lubbock and had been a resident of San Angelo before moving to Sanderson. She was Methodist.

SURVIVORS: Sons, Lloyd Max Goldwire of Sanderson, Ronald Keith Kight of San Angelo and Larry Gayle Kight of Cleveland, Ga.; daughter, Alice Goldwire Glass of Lyme; brother, Gayle Gaither of Lubbock; 17 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Nicolas Hernandez

PECOS — Nicolas P. Hernandez, 34, of Pecos, died Saturday, Sept. 30, 2000, at Reeves County Hospital in Pecos.

Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. today at Santa Rosa Catholic Church. Burial will be at Greenwood cemetery. Arrangements by Martinez Funeral Home.

He was born in Pecos and had been a lifelong resident. He was Catholic.

SURVIVORS: Mother, Gabina Pisana of Pecos; father, H.F. Hernandez of Odessa; grandmother, Rosenda Pisana of Odessa; brothers, Alfonso P. Hernandez, Johnny P. Hernandez and Henry P. Hernandez, all of Pecos, and Roberto P. Hernandez of Carlsbad, N.M.; and sisters, Amelia Cameron, Sylvia Garcia, Lydia Davies, Margarita H. Sanchez, Carolina H. Najera, Delma Russell and Rosa Hernandez, all of Odessa.

Carmen Pena

ODESSA — Carmen Diaz Pena, 90, of Odessa, a homemaker, died Saturday, Sept. 30, 2000, at her residence.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. today at Rose Hill cemetery with the Rev. Joel Amaro officiating. Arrangements by Odessa Funeral Home.

She was born in Kennedy.

SURVIVORS: Sons, Willie Pena of Pawnee, Noe Pena of Beeville and Cipriano Pena of Odessa; daughters, Dominga Garcia of Beeville, Jaunita De La Paz of Colorado City, Irene De La Paz of Sweetwater and Elizabeth Pena of Asheboro, N.C.; brother, Gumisindo Diaz of Beeville; 41 grandchildren; 72 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren.

John Osborn

PECOS — John Osborn, 65, of Toyah, a retired farmer, died Sunday, Oct. 1, 2000, at his residence.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. today at Pecos Funeral Home with the Rev. J.R. Wooten officiating. Burial will be at the Toyah cemetery. Arrangements by Pecos Funeral Home.

He was born in Toyah. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War.

SURVIVORS: Son, Ray Osborn Keene of Waco; daughters, Renea Gallagher of Granbury and Denise Schroeder of New Braunfels; brothers, Charlie Osborn, Jim Osborn and Joe Osborn, all of Pecos, Jack Osborn of Toyah, Dan Osborn of Huntsville and Jay Walker of Mineral Wells; sister, Billie Hughes of Junction; and four grandchildren.

Charles Smith

STAMPS, Ark. — Charles Richard Smith, 73, of Lewisville, Ark., a retired welder for El Paso Products, died Sunday, Oct. 1, 2000, at Wadley Hospital in Texarkana.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Smith Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Wayne Johnson officiating. Burial will be at the Shiloh cemetery. Arrangements by Smith Funeral Home.

He was born in Lewisville and had been a resident of Odessa. He was Baptist.

SURVIVORS: Wife, Modie Irene Smith of Lewisville; daughters, Vickie Irene Rimer of Odessa, Charlotte Kay Reygon and Linda Wynell Smith of Lewisville; brothers, C.W. Smith of Kingsland, Dalton Smith, Boots Smith and Hershel Smith, all of Stamps; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Lisa Treadwell

KERMIT — Lisa Treadwell, 40, of Wink, a secretary for Rapid Transport Co., died Saturday, Sept. 30, 2000, in Vermejo Park, N.M.

Services will be at 10 a.m. today at Belvue Baptist Church with the Rev. Emmet Upchurch officiating. Burial will be at the Kermit cemetery. Arrangements by Cooper Funeral Chapel.

She was born in Kermit and had been a lifelong resident of Wink. She was Baptist.

SURVIVORS: Husband, Gregg Treadwell of Wink; son, Stephen Treadwell of Aledo; daughter, Arron Treadwell of Wink; mother, Carol Ann Willhelm of Kermit; brothers, Terry Joe Willhelm of Kermit and Randy Baker of Pampa; and sister, Frankie Rolfe of Raton, N.M.

Stanley Willis

BIG SPRING — Stanley "Strawberry" Willis, 85, of Forsan, a retired employee of Continental Oil Co., died Monday, Oct. 2, 2000, at Crane Memorial Hospital in Crane.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Trinity Memorial Park with the Rev. Leroy Linney officiating. Arrangements by Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home.

He was born in Pittsburgh County, Okla., and had been a longtime resident of Forsan.

SURVIVORS: Daughters, Corrina M. White of Longview and Marketta F. Wright of Grantsville, Utah; sons, Stanley E. Willis of Longview, Tommy L. Willis of Midland, Fred D. Willis of Lohn and Jacky R. Willis of Crane; 17 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

SANTA FE, N.M. — Miquel "Mike" H. Morrison, 72, of Odessa, died Saturday, Sept. 30, 2000, in Santa Fe, N.M.

Arrangements are pending with St. Barnabas’ Episcopal Church.

Monica Martinez

ODESSA — Monica Martinez, daughter of Arturo and Rosalinda Martinez of Fort Worth, was stillborn Saturday, Sept. 30, 2000, at Medical Center Hospital.

Graveside services will be at 9 a.m. today at Ector County cemetery with the Rev. Barney Rodriguez officiating. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

She was born in Odessa.

SURVIVORS: Parents; and grandparents Mario and Guadalupe Martinez of Fort Worth and Alfredo and Romelia Escobar of Desdemona.
