She was born in Canadian and had been a resident of Pecos since 1951. She was Methodist.

Nila Mae Wood
ODESSA — Nila Mae Wood was a loving wife, moma, granny and great-granny. She was born in Sonora, Sept. 1, 1934. She went to be with our Lord Monday, Dec. 20, 1999.
She was married
to Fred L. Wood Sr., Sept. 5,
1950, in Lovington, N.M.
She is survived by her brother, Joe Billy Hardin and his wife, Pat, Of Oolagah, Okla.; sons, Fred L. Wood Jr. and wife, Irma, John E. Wood and wife, Jessie; daughters, Anita Loftin and husband, Jerry, Deborah Wood and Judith Stewart, all of Odessa; 21 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, John T. Hardin, in 1975; her sister, Frances Allcorn, in 1987; her mother, Nila Hardin, in 1989, her husband, Fred L. Wood Sr., in 1990; half-brother, Steve Higgins, in 1998; and daughter, Tommi Olson, in 1999.
She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Mom loved the outdoors and children of all ages.
She was an extra-special granny to Elexis and Isaiah.
Jackie Jo Brown
LUBBOCK — Jackie Jo Brown, 80, of Odessa, died Tuesday, Dec. 21, 1999, at Medical Center Hospital.
Visitation will be from noon until 9 p.m. Thursday at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Resthaven Memorial Chapel in Lubbock. Burial will be at Resthaven Memorial Park.
She was born Oct. 19, 1919, in Canton. She married
W.W. Brown Oct. 15, 1935, in Plainview. He preceded her in death Oct. 4, 1982. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Avon Carter.
She was a former longtime resident of Lubbock and a member of Asbury Methodist Church in Lubbock.
Survivors include her daughter, Jean Brown of Odessa; four grandchildren, Chris Cook, Bryan Cook, Lynn Edmondson and Amy McFerrin; and four great-grandchildren.
