He was born in America, Okla., and had been a resident of Andrews since 1957. He was a member of the Assembly of God Church.

He was born in Mead, Okla. He was an Army veteran of World War II.

Elton Linwood Brown
CONROE — Funeral services for Elton Linwood Brown, 73, of Magnolia will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 21, 1999, at the Chapel of Metcalf Funeral Directors in Conroe with Brother Corby Jones and Brother Robert Nichols officiating. Interment will follow in the Conroe Memorial cemetery under the direction of Metcalf Funeral Directors.
Mr. Brown was born April 10, 1926, in Keltys and passed away Sept. 18, 1999, in Conroe.
Mr. Brown was a member of New Bethlehem Baptist Church for 13 years and a dedicated employee of Warren Petroleum Company, a division of Gulf Oil Corporation for 41 years. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his parents, G.W. and Viola Brown; his brother, W.A. Brown; and his sister, Vernell Graff.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Jo Ann Brown of Magnolia; two sons, Jerry Linwood Brown and wife, Debbie, of Conroe and Donnie Jack Brown and wife, Connie, of Magnolia; sisters, Valrie Canslor and Vivian Kinerd, both of Conroe, Linda Phillips of Boerne and Patsy Brown of Austin; brothers, James H. Brown of Conroe, Glenn A. Brown of Rosenberg and Dixon E. Brown of Conroe; grandchildren, Jada Linn Brown, Jaime Brown Neeley; and great-granddaughter, Katlyn Madison Neeley.
Pallbearers will be Danny Arnold, Ronnie Arnold, Kenneth Arnold, Mark Arnold, Travis Brown and Royce Brown. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jerry Jenkins and Larry Bonds.
