Blanche Strauss
MIDLAND Blanche Strauss was born on August 12, 1913, in Providence, R.I. She passed away Saturday, April 1, 2000, at her residence.
Graveside services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday at the Temple Beth El cemetery in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Services are under the care of Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.
Mrs. Strauss was a member of the Midland Opera Guild, Temple Beth El and the Sisterhood of Temple Beth El.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, A.B. Strauss on March 7, and Norman Katz on May 10, 1969.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Joyce and Charles Silverman; grandchildren, Tracee B. Silverman, Jennifer and Aaron French; and her brother, Joseph Golditch of Cranston, R.I.
Gladys Marie Deary
ODESSA Services for Gladys Marie Deary, 67, of Odessa are scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday at Parker Heights Christian Church with the Rev. Paul Weymouth officiating.
Interment will follow at Rose Hill cemetery under the direction of Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
Mrs. Deary died Wednesday, March 29, 2000, at her residence. She was born Nov. 9, 1932, in Reagan. She married
Chester Deary on Dec. 1, 1952, in Clovis, N.M.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester Deary; her parents, Will Poole and Mary French; a sister, Frankie Dangerfield; and a brother, Isom Poole.
Mrs. Deary moved to Odessa in 1963. She graduated from Booker T. Washington High School and also was a graduate of cosmetology school. She worked as a housekeeper for Dr. and Mrs. Clark for many years. She was a member of Parker Heights Christian Church.
Survivors include her daughters, Chestine Jones, Linda Deary and Tammie Deary, all of Odessa; brothers, Chester Poole of Lufkin and Grover Poole of Marlin; sister, Lorraine Pool of Marlin; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Archie Julia Terry
ODESSA Archie Julia Terry was born February 2, 1915, in Jacksonville to James and Annie Jennings Branaman. She passed away at her residence on March 31, 2000.
Services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday, April 3, 2000, at Terrace Hills Baptist Church with Danny Willis officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens under the care of Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.
Archie came to Odessa in 1960. She was married
to T.J. Mitchell for 24 years and then married
Elmo Terry on April 9, 1971. They both preceded her in death.
Mrs. Terry taught Bible studies all of her adult life. She had worked for Anthonys and for Sunshine laundry for many years as a seamstress. She was a member of Terrace Hills Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Arlene Collins of Portland, Ore.; brother, Dale Branaman of Lubbock; sister, Jackie McWhorter of Mexia; niece, Joyce Philen of Odessa; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and special friends, Vera Monroe of Midland and Opal Anglin of Odessa.
Charlie Alcorn
ANDREWS Charlie Alcorn, 75, of Andrews, a retired manager of Johnny Smith Motor Company, died Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2000, at Permian General Hospital in Andrews.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. H.A. Hanks officiating. Burial will be at the Andrews Old cemetery. Arrangements by McNett Funeral Home.
He was born in Mount Vernon and had been a resident of Andrews since 1948. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was Baptist.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Gwen Alcorn of Andrews; daughters, Sandra Pearcy of Gunnison, Colo., and Dorenda Ayres of Cranbury, N.J.; sisters, Effie Mae McCollough of Brandon, Fla., and Reva Earle of Garland; and three grandchildren.
Robert Lybass
LONGVIEW Robert Henry Lybass, 80, of Broaddus, a retired foreman for Strachan Shipping Company, died Wednesday, Aug. 16, 2000, in Lufkin.
Services were Friday, Aug. 18, 2000, at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Wayne Batth officiating. Burial was at Rose Wood Park. Arrangements were by Wyman Roberts Funeral Home.
He was born in Quinland. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was Baptist.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Ida Mae Lybass of Broaddus; son, Douglas R. Cox of Longview; daughters, Connie Gay Chappelow of Washington and Frankie Taylor of Odessa; sister, Maurine Dixon of Abilene; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Lucille Settles
VELMA, Okla. Lucille Fern Settles, 84, of Duncan, Okla., a retired teacher, died Monday, Aug. 28, 2000, in Duncan.
Services will be at 11 a.m . today at Velma Methodist Church with the Rev. Arden Smith officiating. Burial will be at Tussy cemetery in Tussy, Okla. Arrangements by Milburn Funeral Home.
She was born in Garfield County, Okla. She was Methodist.
SURVIVORS: Husband, Daniel Settles of Duncan; sons, Joseph Daniel Settles of Ratliff City, Okla., and Timothy Audsky Settles of Ardmore, Okla.; daughter, Marrianne Milton of Minneapolis; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Guadalupe Zamarron
STANTON Guadalupe Valles Zamarron, 50, of Stanton, a housekeeper, died Tuesday, Aug. 29, 2000, at Memorial Hospital and Medical Center.
Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Revs. Arturo Pestin and Ernie Sanchez officiating. Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today at Stanton Memorial Funeral Home and Chapel. Burial will be at St. Joseph Catholic cemetery. Arrangements by Stanton Memorial Funeral Home and Chapel.
She was born in Stanton.

Jenna (Jay) Aley Wilson
ODESSA Jenna (Jay) Aley Wilson, 75, of Odessa died Monday, March 8, 1999, in Odessa. She was born Sept. 15, 1923, in Norton. She moved to Odessa from San Angelo in 1955 and was a member of St. Luke United Methodist Church. She was a homemaker and member of the Northside Senior Citizens Center who enjoyed dancing and loved to travel.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Ray Aley in 1976; and married
OdeIl Wilson Nov. 22, 1978, in Odessa.
Survivors include her husband, OdeIl Wilson of Odessa; son, Danny Aley of Odessa; daughters, Sandra Powell of Plano and Lesa Benton of Midland; grandchildren, Janet, Julie, and Jennifer Shreiner and Rachel and Daniel Benton. She is also survived by sisters; Thelma Overman of Levelland, Katherine Patterson of Stephenville and Virginia Tomlin of Galveston; stepdaughter, Nanette Idell of McCamey; and stepson, Warren Wilson of Midland.
Graveside services will be 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 8, 1999, at Sunset Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Kevin Strempke officiating. Arrangements by Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.
