Floyd D. Howell
COLUMBUS, Ohio — Floyd D. Howell, 73, of Midland, died Tuesday, June 27, 2000, at Ohio State University Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio, after a brief illness.
He graduated from Clearfield High School and DuBois Business College in Pennsylvania. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during World War II. He founded Howell & Co. Inc., a public accounting firm in St. Mary’s, Pa.
He was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Midland, Bethesda Lodge No. 64 A.F. & A.M. in Truth or Consequences, N.M., VFW Post No. 4372 in Odessa and Disabled American Veterans. He also served as president of the Booster Club in St. Mary’s, Pa.
Previously, he was very active with the Toastmaster’s. He was also an avid golfer and Penn State fan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Carrie Hummel Howell; sister, Esther M. McDonald; brother, Robert L. Howell; and mother-in-law, Gretchen H. Flegal.
Floyd is survived by his wife of 52 years, Nancy J. Howell; children, Floyd D. Howell III and wife, Marianne, of State College, Pa., Patricia Lee Miller and husband, Timothy, of Crestline, Ohio, William M. Howell and wife, Mercy, of Truth or Consequences, N.M., and Penni Howell Chambers and husband, Charles, of Odessa; 12 grandchildren; one great-grandson; brother, Fred L. Howell and wife, Reitus, of Lady Lake, Fla.; sister-in-law, Nancy E. Howell of Huron, Ohio; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A private service was held for the family in Columbus, Ohio, followed by cremation.
A memorial service will be in Midland and will be announced at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Howell’s memory to the Shriner’s Burns Hospital, 815 Market St., Galveston, Texas, 77550-2725; or the Shriner’s Orthopedic Hospital, 6977 Main St., Houston, Texas, 77030-7701.
Doris Florence Tippit
SEATTLE — Born Jan. 1, 1923, on a stormy night in Tulsa, Okla., Doris Florence Tippit died Friday, June 23, 2000, in Seattle.
She moved with her parents at the age of five months to an apartment on First Hill in Seattle. The family moved the following year to Portland, Ore., and a year later to Roseburg, Ore.
The following year, her father was transferred to Oakland, Calif. Subsequently they moved to Healton, Okla., and later to Salt Lake City, where Doris graduated from high school. She graduated from the University of Utah with honors and a major in chemistry. She then began workin Dr. Vincent Kelley’s Pediatric Endocrinology lab at the University of Utah Medical School. In 1958, she moved to Seattle to continue her medical technology work in pediatric endocrinology at the University of Washington Medical School, where she retired in 1985.
Her father, Howard, died in Salt Lake City in April 1947. Her mother, Florence, died in 1981, but, before her death, she and Doris traveled extensively in the western United States and in Canada during every vacation. Doris was a football fan, and until 1999 was able to go to the Kelley’s home and watch the New Year’s Day bowl games and celebrate her birthday the same day. She was very active in the Ravenna United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir and designed and made many of the church’s banners. She accepted Christ as her Savior in 1941 at Centenary Methodist Church in Salt Lake City.
Several years ago Doris was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease.
She is survived by her uncle, Wilbur F. Roberts Sr. and wife, Nettie, of Odessa; aunts, Laverne Roberts of Independence, Mo., and Sue Roberts of Valiant, Okla.; cousins, Judge W. F. "Corky" Roberts and wife, Tonya, of Amarillo, Roy E. Roberts and wife, Linda, of Independence, Mo., Jerry W. Roberts Sr. and wife, Faye, of Odessa and Janice Roberts of Oklahoma City; and also a very special friend, Dorothy Kelley and her family of Seattle; and numerous friends.
Memorial service for Doris was at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 27, 2000, at Ravenna United Methodist Church, 5751 33rd Avenue NE, in Seattle. Burial was in Salt Lake City, near her parents.

Micaela Corrales
PECOS — Micaela Z. Corrales, 62, of Pecos, a homemaker, died Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2000, at Medical Center Hospital.
Mass will be celebrated at 10 am. Saturday at Santa Rosa Catholic Church. Rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m. today at Martinez Funeral Home. Burial will be at Mount Evergreen cemetery. Arrangements by Martinez Funeral Home.
She was born in Pecos and had been a lifelong resident. She was Catholic.

Alicia Gonzales
PECOS — Alicia Paz Gonzales, 53, of Pecos, a retired teacher, died Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2000, at Pecos Nursing Home in Pecos.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. today at Greenwood cemetery. Arrangements by Martinez Funeral Home.
She was born in Del Rio and had been a resident of Pecos since 1984. She was Catholic.
SURVIVORS: Son, Edward James Gonzales of Austin; and brothers, Jose Robert Paz Jr. of Midland, Alfredo Paz and Guadalupe Paz, both of Pecos.
B.D. Sanders
ANDREWS — B.D. "Don" Sanders, 73, of Andrews, a retired optometrist, died Thursday, Oct. 5, 2000, at his residence.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Andrews Church of Christ with Moody Conner officiating. Burial will follow at the Andrews Old cemetery. Arrangements by McNett Funeral Home.
He was born in Lubbock and had been a resident of Big Spring before moving to Andrews in 1954. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Church of Christ.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Rachel Sanders of Andrews; son, Kip Sanders of Andrews; daughter, Suzanne Blackburn of Andrews; brother, J.L. Sanders of Amarillo; sister, Lydia Frederick of San Angelo; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Donna Snyder
ODESSA — Donna Snyder, 50, of Odessa, died Thursday, Oct. 5, 2000, in Odessa.

James Carroll ‘Slick’ Pearcy
ODESSA — James Carroll "Slick" Pearcy, 75, of 905 Lincoln Drive in Longview, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2001, at Odessa Regional Hospital.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 13, 2001, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home with the Revs. Jim Bradberry and Beth Harrington officiating. Masonic graveside services will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
He was born Oct. 10, 1925, in Vernon to John and Jane Pearcy. He attended school in Kilgore and served in the Navy during World War II. Mr. Pearcy retired from Halliburton where he was employed as a field supervisor. He then was associated with Odessa Packer.
Mr. Pearcy was a member of the VFW Post 4372, the American Legion Post 430, an active supporter of the local Boy Scouts Post 83 and a member of Odessa Masonic Lodge 955.
He was a 60-year member of the Kilgore Eastview Baptist Church, which he faithfully attended in dedication to Christ’s service.
He was a devoted Christian, husband, father and grandfather who cherished his family, friends and beloved pets B.B., Dino and Spider. You will always be loved and missed by all, God bless.
The family will be receiving visitors from 6 to 9 p.m. today at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home Chapel.
Memorials may be directed to the American Heart Association or the donor’s favorite charity.
Mr. Pearcy is survived by his wife and soul mate of 20 years, Faye Pearcy of Longview; sons, John Pearcy of Roanoke, David Pearcy of Tacoma, Wash., and Jim Pearcy of Washington, D.C.; daughter, Donna Duncan of Kermit; stepdaughter, Rita Barton of Odessa; brother, Fred Pearcy of Las Vegas; grandchildren, Elyse, Bryan and Brandon Duncan, Elayne Dunn and David and Kristen Pearcy; a stepgranddaughter, Theisha Kay Martz; and a stepgreat-granddaughter.

Thomas Michael Micky Bickle
ODESSA Services for Thomas Michael "Micky" Bickle, 31, of Odessa are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 16, 2000, at Hubbard-Kelly Chapel with the Rev. Mark Bristow officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Bickle died Saturday, Dec. 9, 2000, in Reeves County. He was born Dec. 23, 1968, in Kermit. Mr. Bickle worked for Epoch Well Services. He was a Navy veteran and served as a radioman.
Survivors include his sons, Christopher Allen Bickle of Oklahoma, Christopher Scott Bickle of Tennessee, Camden Michael Bickle, Chase Paul Bickle and Cody Wrangler Bickle, all of Odessa; daughters, Tambre Ann Bickle of Odessa and Abbigal Faith Watts of Monahans; father, Armon H. Bickle of Kermit; stepfathers, Richard Boring of Maljamar, N.M., and Jesse Paul Skinner of Midland; and brothers, Richard Bickle of Kermit, Carlton Bickle of Midland, Charles Bickle of Charleston, S.C., and Chad Bickle of Odessa.
