James Young

DENVER — James E. Young, 64, of Denver, a retired chef, died Saturday, Aug. 19, 2000, in Denver.

Services were at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 25, 2000, at Kirk Chapel. Burial was at Fort Logan National cemetery. Arrangements by Caldwell-Kirk Funeral Home.

He was born in Odessa and was a former resident.

SURVIVORS: Wife, Katherine Young of Denver; sons, Alvin Young of Oklahoma, Clarence Young, Vincent Caro and Robert Charles Young, all of Denver; stepson, David Scott of Denver; stepdaughters, Regina Scott-Young and Gloria Thomas, both of Denver, Christopher Young and Ivory Young, both of Texas; sisters, Mary Reese of Odessa and Mamie Young of Austin; brothers, Ira Young of Odessa and Leonard Young of Detroit; 24 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Ethel Mueller

ODESSA — Ethel Irene Mueller, 69, of Odessa, a retired teacher, died Monday, Aug. 28, 2000, at her residence.

Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Francis Frey officiating. Rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Frank W. Wilson Funeral Home.

She was born in St. Louis and had been a resident of Odessa since 1965. She was Catholic.

SURVIVORS: Husband, William Mueller of Odessa; daughter, Teresa "Terry" McManigle of Rodbourene, England; sons, Kenneth J. Mueller of Fort Worth and Wayne S. Mueller of San Antonio; and two grandsons.

Scott Smith

ALPINE — Scott Owen Smith, 66, of Alpine, a retired employee of the Border Patrol, died Sunday, Aug. 27, 2000, at his residence.

No services are scheduled.

He was born in Harlingen. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War.

SURVIVORS: Wife, Ann Smith of Homestead, Fla.; son, Robert Steven Smith of Midland; daughters, Theresa Ann Mooring of Monahans and Connie Jo Kilcrease of Toyah; sister, Sandy Halsey of Fort Myers, Fla.; and five grandchildren.

Maedell Beasley

McCAMEY — Maedell Boulter Beasley, 80, of McCamey, a retired dispatcher for the Upton County Sheriff’s Department, died Sunday, Aug. 27, 2000, at McCamey Hospital.

Services will be at 10 a.m. today at the McCamey Church of Christ with Saul Blair officiating. Burial will be at Resthaven cemetery. Arrangements by Richard W. Box Funeral Home.

She was born in Ranger and had been a resident of McCamey for 63 years. She was a member of the Church of Christ.

SURVIVORS: Husband, Jack Beasley of McCamey and sister, Inez Parker of McCamey.

John Greer

SHEFFIELD — John Dewitt Greer, 66, of Houston, a real estate broker, died Friday, Aug. 25, 2000, at his residence.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Mother Holmes Baptist Church with the Rev. Jerry Fortune officiating. Burial will be at Sheffield cemetery. Arrangements by Richard W. Box Funeral Home.

He was born in Iraan. He was Baptist.

SURVIVORS: Sons, John D. Greer Jr. of Houston and Joe D. Greer of Midland; daughters, Mitzi Greer of Owensboro, Ky., and Regina Gross of Edna, Kan.; brothers, Tommy Greer of Sheffield and Jerold Greer of Atlanta; sisters, Dorothy Boland of Lovington, N.M., and Margaret Holmes of Sheffield; eight grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.

Raymond Hegy

MARFA — Raymond Christopher Hegy, 96, of Marfa, a retired pilot, died Saturday, Aug. 26, 2000, in Fort Stockton.

Mass will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Rick Ruiz officiating. Rosary will be said at 1 p.m. Wednesday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Burial will be at Marfa cemetery. Arrangements by Memorial Funeral Home.

He was born in Milwaukee, Wis., and had been a longtime resident of Marfa. He was an Air Force veteran of World War II.

SURVIVORS: Daughter, Billie Lu Corder of Yuma, Ariz.; brother, Ralph Hegy of Wisconsin; sisters, Elizabeth Vogelsang, Helen Buchanan and Maureen Hegy, all of Wisconsin; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Bobbie Henderson

ODESSA — Bobbie Jo Henderson, infant daughter of Bobby and Carol Henderson of Odessa, died Sunday, Aug. 27, 2000, at Medical Center Hospital.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today at Rose Hill Babyland cemetery with the Rev. Curtis Hayes officiating. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

She was born in Odessa.

SURVIVORS: Parents; sister, Lorelei Nicole Henderson of Odessa; and brother, Spencer Lane Henderson of Odessa.

Troy Massey

GRAND PRAIRIE — Troy Wilbert Massey, 79, of Bonham, a retired employee of the Department of Veterans Affairs, died Sunday, Aug. 20, 2000, in Dallas.

Graveside services were at noon Friday, Aug. 25, 2000, at the Dallas-Fort Worth National cemetery with David Barrett officiating. Arrangements by Bratcher Funeral Home.

He was born in Arkansas. He was an Army veteran of World War II.

SURVIVORS: Wife, Frances Jeane Massey of Bonham; sons, Robert Troy Massey of Planterville, William Jack Massey and Roger Lee Massey, both of Odessa; daughters, Helen Wheeler of Alvarado, Donna McClung of Highland Village and Nita Massey of Odessa; sisters, Bonnie Arrington of Wichita Falls and Charlene Listenee of Kilgore; 13 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Floyd Moorhead

ODESSA — Floyd Monroe Moorhead, 78, of Odessa, a retired employee of Glenn Rex Inc., died Saturday, Aug. 26, 2000, at Medical Center Hospital.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Sunset Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Van Perryman officiating. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

He was born in Eastland and had been a resident of Odessa since 1977. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was Baptist.

SURVIVORS: Wife, Susie Moorhead of Odessa; sons, Terrell Moorhead of Littlefield and Frankie Moorhead of Lubbock; daughters, Wanda Fay Kyle and Kathryn Sue Renfro, both of Lubbock; stepson, Jimmy Clifford Lair of Odessa; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Maxine Pardue

STANTON — Maxine Pardue, 76, of Stanton, a homemaker, died Sunday, Aug. 27, 2000, at her residence.

Services will be at 3 p.m. today at First Baptist Church with the Rev. David Harp officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen cemetery. Arrangements by Gilbreath Funeral Home.

She was born in Jackson Parish, La. She was Baptist.

SURVIVORS: Sons, Howell Winfred Pardue of Midland, Samuel Glen Pardue and James William "Bill" Pardue, both of Stanton; daughter, Sarah Nanette Pierce of Stanton; brother, Glen Haywood Womack of Odessa; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Harold Rollman

ODESSA — Harold Rollman, 61, of Odessa, an oilfield worker, died Saturday, Aug. 26, 2000, at Medical Center Hospital.

No services are scheduled at this time. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

He was born in Morrowville, Kan., and had been a resident of Odessa for 18 years.

SURVIVORS: Son, Harold Rollman Jr. of Odessa and nine grandchildren.

Agueda Sanchez

MARFA — Agueda Hernandez Sanchez, 70, of Odessa, formerly of Marfa, died Saturday, Aug. 26, 2000, at an Odessa hospital.

Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Saint Mary’s Catholic Church. Burial will be at Merced cemetery. Rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m. Monday at Saint Mary’s Catholic Church. Arrangements by Memorial Funeral Home in Marfa.

She was born in Marfa. She lived in Odessa for seven years after moving from Marfa. She was Catholic.

SURVIVORS: Brothers, Elias Sanchez of Marfa and Jose Sanchez of Van Horn; sisters, Eva Sanchez and Ysidora Kirkley, both of Silver City, N.M., Olivina Sanchez of El Paso and Margarita Dominguez of Odessa.
