He was born in Stanton.

HUGO, Okla. — Thurman Harold McLemore, 73, of Paris, Texas, a retired employee of Phillips Petroleum Company and Odessa College instructor, died Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2000, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Paris.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Edwin D. Bernard officiating. Burial will be at Fort Towson cemetery in Fort Towson, Okla. Arrangements by Miller & Miller Funeral Home.
He was born in Rotan and was a resident of Paris since 1993. He was Presbyterian.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Doris McLemore of Paris; son, Phillip N. McLemore of Dallas; sister, Siddie Stewart of Lubbock; and one stepgrandson.

CARLSBAD, N.M. — Virgil L. Meek, 77, of Carlsbad, N.M., retired owner and operator of Bond Ice Company, died Wednesday, Aug. 16, 2000, at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock.

He was born in Belleville, Ark., and had been a resident of Carlsbad since 1937. He was a Marine Corps veteran of World War II.

She was born in Orange Grove and had lived in Monahans since 1950. She was Lutheran.

She was born in Sioux City, Iowa, and had been a resident of Seminole since 1964. She was a member of the Church on the God.
