Dorothy M. Palmour
ODESSA — Dorothy M. Palmour is now at peace with her beloved husband, Robert E. Palmour.
The family will meet with friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
Services for Mrs. Palmour, 77, of Odessa, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday at Hubbard-Kelly Chapel with the Rev. Bill Stroud officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Palmour died Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2000, at Medical Center Hospital. She was born May 1, 1923, in Stanton. She married
Mr. Palmour June 1, 1939, in Odessa. He died in 1989. She moved to Odessa from Stanton 1942. She was a homemaker and a Methodist.
She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Carlene Palmour.
Survivors include her sons, Billy Palmour, Charles Palmour and Terry Palmour, all of Odessa; daughters, Barbara Mathis, Robbie Lambright and Debbie Looney, all of Odessa; sister, Loraine Williams of Odessa; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

Dayton Earl "Pat" Ramsey
MONAHANS — Dayton Earl "Pat" Ramsey died Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2000, in Ward County. His funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 7, 2000, at First United Methodist Church in Monahans.
Pat was born June 11, 1927, in Ben Hur to Jewel Estelle Holder Ramsey and Benjamin Franklin Ramsey.
Pat served in the United States Marine Corps and was married
May 31, 1947, to Mary Beth Tubbs in Coleman. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary May 31, 1997.
Pat graduated in 1948 with a B.S. in petroleum engineering from Texas A&M and was a devoted Aggie.
After his marriage, he and Mary Beth moved to Kermit where he went to work for Dowell as a service engineer. He quickly moved through the ranks and served in Snyder, Midland, Hobbs, N.M., and Tulsa, Okla. At the age of 29, Pat became manager of Dowell’s North American operations.
In 1959, Pat went into business for himself in Monahans and was engaged in cementing, oilfield service and oilfield tool businesses.
Pat and Mary Beth formed a longtime friendship and partnership with Pete and Georgia McDaniel. He formed MR Oil Company with Pete McDaniel and Pat continued his involvement with MR Oil Company until the time of his death.
Pat and Mary Beth joined the First United Methodist Church soon after moving to Monahans and have been deeply involved in all activities at the church. Pat has served as the chairman of the pastor-parish committee and has served in any capacity needed for his church for over 40 years. He particularly loved greeting and ushering and will be sorely missed on Sunday mornings.
Pat was an avid aviator and flying brought him great pleasure. In recent years, he had built and flown numerous planes. He logged many hours flying not only his family and friends, but flew many people in their time of need.
Among his many activities in support of his community, Pat was an active member and former president of the Rotary Club. He was chairman of the board at First State Bank of Monahans. He was actively involved in supporting Ward Memorial Hospital and was a former chairman of the board of managers. He liberally supported any good activity, particularly those for the youth of Monahans.
In 1981, Pat was recognized as Citizen of the Year by the Monahans Chamber of Commerce.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Bruce Ramsey.
Pat is survived by his wife and five children, their spouses, eleven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren: Son, Dr. David Bruce Ramsey and his wife Dicksie; grandson, Eddie and his wife Dr. Alice Ramsey; granddaughter, Amber and her husband Chris Motley and great-granddaughter, Lilly; daughter Connie Beth Ramsey Hisel and her husband Christopher Bryan Hisel; granddaughter, Mary Ann Hisel; grandson Dr. Gabriel Hisel and his wife Carrie; and great-granddaughters, Emily and Caroline; grandson, Dr. Patrick Hisel and his wife Stephanie; great-granddaughter, Jordan; daughter, Carol Ann Ramsey Hurst and her husband Stephen Reginald Hurst; grandson, Joe Ramsey Basham; granddaughter, Bonnie Basham; grandson, David Hurst; son, Russell Dayton Ramsey; daughter, Cynthia Elaine Ramsey Magee and her husband Lee Magee; granddaughter, Molly; grandson, Matthew; and grandson, Patrick.
He is also survived by his brother and sisters, Dr. Howard Ramsey, Linda Payne, Dorothy Ben Erwin, Mary Kemp and Carmen McKinney, and their spouses and families.
Pallbearers will be his seven grandsons.

Consuelo Chapa Gonzalez
DALLAS — Consuelo Chapa Gonzalez was born Sept. 1, 1921, in Mission and passed away Oct. 3, 2000, in Dallas.
She is survived by her husband, Justo Jesus Gonzalez Sr.; children, Dr. Justo J. Gonzalez, Myrna G. Renteria and Jose Javier Gonzalez; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Recitation of the holy rosary and visitation will be from 6 to 8:30 p.m., today at Restland Abbey Chapel. Services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 7, 2000, at Restland Memorial Chapel. Interment to follow at Restland Memorial Park.

Troy Lee Durham
ODESSA — Services for Troy Lee Durham, 71, of Odessa, are scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday at First Methodist Church with the Revs. Steve Trout and Bill Heggemeier officiating. Burial will be at Rose Hill cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
Mr. Durham died Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2000, at Medical Center Hospital. He was born Nov. 17, 1928, in Leslie, Texas.
Troy served in the Army from 1947 to 1950. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church choir and builders’ class. His interest was being involved in church, civic organizations and politics. Troy was a member of the Ector County Republican Men’s Club, Republican Women’s Club, precinct judge for the Republican Party, West Texas Singles Association, past member of Odessa Downtown Lions Club and the Moose Lodge, life member of VFW #4372 and the American Legion. Troy received numerous awards of appreciation and is recognized for the great contributions, dedication and commitment he gave as a volunteer to the community. He was always eager to give his time and efforts toward all the wonderful organizations that were so special to him. He was loved by many friends and family and will be deeply missed by all.
Survivors include his son, Tony Durham of La Place, Ill.; brother, Jimmy Dee Durham of Las Vegas, Nev.; sisters, Myrlene Gilmer and Mary Jo Deering, both of Lovington, N.M.; grandson, Russell Lee Durham; two great-grandchildren, Gailynn and Sassy Durham; many friends; and his caregiver, Evelyn Duvall of Odessa.

Jesse Vasquez
ODESSA — Jesse "El Loco" Vasquez, 35, of Odessa, died Monday, Oct. 2, 2000, at Medical Center Hospital.
Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. Friday at Martinez Funeral Home Chapel. Rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home. Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Rev. Gilbert Rodriguez officiating. Burial will be at Rose Hill cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Mirna Montes of Odessa; son, Gustavo Montes Hernandez of Odessa; and daughter, Crystal Montes Hernandez of Odessa.

Miquel Morrison
ODESSA — Miquel "Mike" Henry Morrison died Sept. 30, 2000, in Santa Fe, N.M. He was born Dec. 31, 1927, in Burkburnet to Wallace "Pat" and Edna Morrison.
Mike graduated from Texas A&M University with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering prior to his commission into the United States Air Force. He served as a captain during the Korean Conflict, stationed at the Pentagon in Washington, D.C. He worked as an engineer for National Tank-Combustion Engineering for 35 years, retiring in 1988 in Odessa. He was a member of St. Barnabas Episcopal Church. He volunteered as a driver for the American Cancer Society and Home Hospice as well as at St. John’s Pantry and the West Texas Food Bank.
Mike loved dancing, fishing without bait, and playing skipbo with friends. Mike was an Eagle Scout and never met a stranger. To know him was to love him.
Mike is survived by his wife, Pauline Morrison of Odessa; sister, Maureen Long of Lake Oswego, Ore.; children, Miquel T. Morrison and Rebecca Suzanne Wright, both of Ardmore, Okla., JoAnn Johnston of Irving and Barbara Blanchard of Odessa; nephews, Patrick and Erin Long of Lake Oswego; 10 grandchildren, Jackson, Jason, Rebecca, David, Stacy, Janna, Kristen, Erin, Megan and lan; and a great-grandchild, Allison.

W.E. "Bill" Meadows
ODESSA — W.E. "Bill" Meadows was born May 2, 1914, in Centralia, Wash., to Earl and Blanche Meadows, and he passed away Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2000, at Medical Center Hospital.
Bill was a World War II veteran and was trained as a paratrooper in the first-ever paratroop division in the U.S. Army. He had been an oilfield worker for every major trucking company in West Texas during the 50’s, 6O’s and 70’s. He retired in 1975 after working to take care of himself and anyone else who needed help since age 12. He was small in stature, but no one ever had a bigger and softer heart.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Loveta, in 1984.
He is survived by a daughter, Linda Boyd of Odessa; a son, Dickey Meadows; a sister, LaWanda Crane of Salem, Ill.; a niece, Marjorie Rinehart of Ruston, La.; six grandchildren, David Lee, Glen, Amy and Ann Boyd and Robin and Darcy Meadows; three great-grandchildren, Sonny and Melanie Olivarez and Ashley Boyd; and two brothers-in-law, Hershall Reynolds and Eddie Reynolds of Fort Worth.
No public funeral services are planned. The family will have a private family service attended by his daughter, her children, son-in-law, Joe Olivarez, and great-grandchildren, Sonny and Melanie Olivarez and Ashley Boyd.
