Felicita Diaz Rojo
ODESSA — Felicita Diaz Rojo, 68, a resident of Odessa since 1965, died Friday, Sept. 29, 2000, at Medical Center Hospital.
She was born June 8, 1932, in Fort Stockton to Jesusita Tarango and Fermin Diaz. They preceded her in death. She married
Esteban Rojo on April 30, 1966. She was a homemaker.
Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Sunday at Martinez Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and from 1 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Martinez Funeral Home. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Fidelo Lugo officiating. Interment will be at Ector County cemetery.
Survivors include her husband, Esteban Rojo of Odessa; son, Steven Rojo and daughter-in-law Leticia Rojo of Odessa; brother, Pablo Diaz of Odessa; sister, Irene Diaz of Odessa; and granddaughter, Socorro Ashley Rojo of Odessa.

Roger Dale Phillips
ODESSA — Services for Roger Dale Phillips, 55, of Odessa, are scheduled for 2 p.m. today at Temple Baptist Chapel with the Rev. Griffin Jones officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Phillips passed away Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2000, at his residence. He was born June 4, 1945, in Colorado City. He married
Barbara Kay Hudgeons Sept. 20, 1972, in Baytown.
Mr. Phillips moved to Odessa in 1974 from Baytown. He was an Air Force veteran. He worked for Santa Fe Snyder Oil Co. for 12 years. He was a loyal Dallas Cowboy fan and enjoyed being at Oak Creek Lake, but the most important thing to him without a doubt was his family. He was a kind, sincere and devoted man whose smiling face brought joy to those he touched. He was a very gentle man who brought a smile to everyone. He was Baptist.
Survivors include his wife, Kay Phillips of Odessa; sons, Leslie Lee Phillips of Odessa and Lonnie Phillips of Chicago, Ill.; daughters, Melane Milam of Odessa and Melisa Phillips of Midland; mother, Viola "Joy" Phillips of Odessa; brothers, Jerry Phillips, Randall Phillips and Richard Phillips, all of Odessa; and 10 grandchildren.

Johnnie Willie Turnbough
ODESSA — Now, we lay you down to sleep. Beautiful Mother for the Lord to keep and to comfort and to guide you as you start your journey home. We thank the Lord for giving us such a beautiful and wonderful Mother and Grandmother to cherish. You were the best.
Johnnie W. Turnbough was born May 4, 1914, to Jim and Nora Bell Headrick and passed away at home Sept. 27, 2000.
Johnnie was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Emmitt E. Hunt; son, Paul Turnbough; baby grandson, Jack Hunt; Tommy Dwayne Burke; sisters, Anna Reed, Nancy Leigh and Mattie Henry; brothers, Elmer Wray, Tobe Wray, Jess Headrick and Stanley Headrick.
Surviving are: Joyce Hunt Campbell and husband Bill of Murphy, N.C., Geneva Hunt Burke and husband Claude of Clovis, N.M., Barbara Hunt Richardson of Midland, Tom Hunt and wife Dot of Desoto and Virginia Hunt Stanfield and husband John of Midlothian; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 30, at Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors with grandson, Rev. Douglas Howard officiating. Grandsons F.L. Richardson, R.L. Richardson, Ray Burke, John Davidson, Stacy Howard and family friend, Jerry Madre will be pallbearers. Granddaughters, Trena Richardson, Cherie Richardson, Dena Howard and Pam Davidson will be honorary pallbearers.
William Melvin Arnold
ODESSA — William Melvin "Poppa" Arnold, 56, of Odessa, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2000, at Medical Center Hospital.
He was born Aug. 21, 1944, in Ranger to Lester and Alta Arnold. On Feb. 14, 1963, Melvin married
Carol Keefer in Monahans. Later in 1968 he and Carol decided to lift their roots and move to Odessa. While living in Odessa, Mr. Arnold worked as a shop manager for Stoehr Wire Rope. He was a member of the Elks Lodge and lived for fishing. Melvin enjoyed playing darts and billiards. He also liked to bowl.
Graveside services for Mr. Arnold are scheduled for 6 p.m. today at Sunset Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Bill Pollard officiating.
Melvin was preceded in death by his son, Dale Arnold, who passed away February 4, 1974, and also by his sister Sue Brown.
Survivors include his wife Carol Arnold of Odessa; sons, David Arnold and wife Penny, Scott Arnold and wife Tina and Eric Arnold and wife Amy, all of Odessa; brother, Bearl Arnold and wife Nelda of Eastland; sisters, Irene Gonzalez and husband Tom of Columbus and Lou Barker of Gainesville; grandchildren, Elizabeth Arnold, Michael Arnold, Brandon Arnold, Austin Arnold, Chelsea Crumpley, Hollie Arnold, Robert Arnold, Chase Floyd, Morgan Crumpley and Kristopher Arnold.

Charles Ray Jouett
ODESSA — Memorial services for Charley Ray Jouett, 58, will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel.
Mr. Jouett was born Dec. 25, 1941, in Memphis, Texas, to Edgar Ivy and Margarett Irene Jouett. He died Thursday, Sept. 28, 2000, at Medical Center Hospital.
Charley honored his country by serving in the special forces during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the VFW, American Legion and the Loyal Order of Moose. He was in the construction business most of his adult life and built churches, restaurants, motels and apartments in New Mexico, Illinois, Indiana, Georgia, Florida, California, Oklahoma and Texas, including the Midland-Odessa area.
He is survived by his wife, Sandy Smith Jouett of Odessa.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Odessa College Scholarship Foundation or the American Cancer Society.

David Kip Holcomb
David Kip Holcomb, 46, former Odessan, died September 21, 2000, from a heart attack suffered during a hunting trip.
Memorial services were held on September 25th at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Farmington, N.M.
He was born in Fort Worth, Texas, on December 8, 1953, to Robert Glenn and Margaret Holcomb.
David is survived by his wife of 19 years, Tamara; son, Brian; daughter, Krista; mother, Margaret of Universal City, Texas; brothers, Robert and his wife, Kay, of Roswell, and Tom of Dallas; mother and father-In-Law, Charlene and Robert Mckinley of Des Moines, Iowa. His father, Robert Glenn Holcomb Sr., preceded him in death.
David was a super husband and dad and will be greatly missed. David graduated from Permian High School in 1972 and was a proud member of the Mojo Band. He received his Associate’s Degree from San Juan College in 1995. David was active in Emmanuel Baptist Church of Farmington, where he taught a Boys Jr. High Sunday Sunday School Class and on occasion led children’s church for three and four year olds.
"DenMaster Dave" was active in the Boy Scouts, and coached youth baseball and basketball. David was a Host Reading Program Mentor at a Farmington Elementary School, where he was "Mentor of the Year" in 1998. He loved fishing, hunting and was a true outdoorsman. David was employed with McJunkin Corporation for 22 years.
Donations may be made to the David Holcomb Boy Scout Memorial Fund or an educational trust for his children, both established through Emmanuel Baptist Church of Farmington, N.M.
Louise Boschma Mulder
ODESSA — Louise Boschma Mulder, 86, died Oct. 16, 2000, at Medical Center Hospital. She was born Feb. 14, 1914, in Grand Rapids, Mich. She married
Gerald Mulder Dec. 8, 1937. They moved to Odessa from Irving in 1991.
She retired as manager-treasurer from Goodwill Industries Dallas Federal Credit Union in 1980. She was a professional musician for 30 years. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, and will be remembered by her family and friends for her kindness and unconditional love.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Arend B. and Grace Boschma.
Survivors include her husband, Gerald of Odessa; her sons, James L. Mulder and his wife Felicia of Odessa and Edward G. Mulder of Dallas; a grandson, Stephen C. Mulder of Odessa; a great-granddaughter, Meagan Baskett of Richardson; a sister, Mrs. Bertha Willwerth of Irving; one nephew and two nieces.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 19, 2000, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jim Ray Brown officiating.

Katherine Lillie Stewart
ODESSA — Katherine Lillie Stewart was born Dec. 9, 1929, in Garnersville Community near Clifton to Henry L. Wiede and Emma Kettler Wiede. She passed away Monday night at Medical Center Hospital.
Her brothers, Jack Wiede and Alton Wiede and her sister, Gladys Forson preceded her in death.
Services are scheduled for 3 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 19, 2000, at Redeemer Lutheran Church with Pastor Dean Kelm officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. The family will receive visitors tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. at Sunset Memorial.
Katherine married
John Stewart Feb. 19, 1948, in Clifton. They came to Odessa in 1955. She enjoyed tennis and sewing and made Braille books for the blind. She was a devoted member of Redeemer Lutheran Church.
Katherine is survived by her husband, John Stewart; sons, William Stewart and wife Nancy of Odessa, Tommy Stewart of Midland and Wayne Stewart and wife Gay of Midland; daughter, Susan Burton of Amarillo; sisters, Ruby Golden of Clifton, Ester Aars of Clifton, Fran Reesing of Waco and Dora Kruse of West; and eight grandchildren, Emily, Matthew, Shelly, Rachel, Shawna and Callie Stewart and Russell and Janifer Burton.
The family requests that memorials be made to Redeemer Lutheran Church.
Services are under the care of Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.
