SARAGOSA — Ramon "Kiki" Meneses, 35, of Saragosa, an employee of the Texas Department of Transportation, died Monday, Oct. 9, 2000, in Houston.

Mass will be celebrated at 3 p.m. today at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Saragosa with the Rev. Mike Alcuino officiating. Burial will be at the Saragosa cemetery. Arrangements by Martinez Funeral Home.

He was born in Pecos and had been a lifelong resident of Saragosa. He was Catholic.

SURVIVORS: Brother, Jesus Alfredo Meneses of Oakland, Calif.; and sister, Rita M. Valdez of Houston.

Alice Palmer

ODESSA — Alice H. Palmer, 85, of Odessa, a retired secretary, died Saturday, Oct. 7, 2000, at Avalon Place.

Mass will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Friday at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church with the Rev. Mark Woodruff officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.

She was born in Oklahoma City and had been a resident of Odessa since 1965.

SURVIVORS: Husband, R.A. Palmer of Odessa; daughter, Barbara J.H. Johnson of Odessa; stepson, R.A. Palmer Jr. of Dallas; three grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two step great-grandchildren.

Kenneth Leith

ALPINE — Kenneth Leith III, 74, of Alpine, died Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2000, at his residence.

Arrangements are pending with Geeslin Funeral Home.

Jacquenettea Gonzales

MONAHANS — Jacquenettea "Jacki" Dawn Holt Gonzales, 31, of Monahans, a nurse’s aide, died Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2000, at her residence.

Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday at Bethel Baptist Church with the Rev. Gordon Cox officiating. Burial will be at Monahans Memorial cemetery. Arrangements by Harkey Funeral Home.

She was born in Artesia, N.M. She was Baptist.

SURVIVORS: Husband, Joe Gonzales of Monahans; stepson, Robert Rene Gonzales of Oklahoma City; stepdaughters, Josephine Yvette Gonzales and Larea Deann Gonzales, both of Oklahoma City; parents, Bobby and Virdie Liles of Monahans and Jackie Holt of Odessa; brothers, Everett Holt of Artesia, Bobby Joe Liles and Gary Liles, both of Avon Park, Fla.; and sisters, Trista Pogue of Odessa and Brandi Liles of Monahans.

Ralph Morgan

MONAHANS — Ralph Morgan, 76, of Monahans, a retired pumper, died Thursday, Oct. 12, 2000, at Medical Center Hospital.

Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Harkey Funeral Chapel. Arrangements by Harkey Funeral Home.

He was born in Mertzon and had been a resident of Monahans since 1952. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was Baptist.

SURVIVORS: Son, Eddie Morgan of Evanston, Wyo.; daughters, Susan Randolph of Lubbock and Gay Nichols of Oakcliff; brothers, Wesley Morgan of Monahans and Ikey Morgan of Tolar; and sisters, Ellen Lannom of Alamogordo, N.M., Ernestine Williams of Fort Stockton and Eva Lee Davison of Brownwood.

Randolph Shoemate

MONAHANS — Randolph E. Shoemate, 81, of Wickett, a retired pumper for Mobil Oil Co., died Friday, Oct. 13, 2000, at his residence.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Bethel Baptist Church with the Rev. Gordon Cox officiating. Burial will be at Monahans Memorial cemetery. Arrangements by Harkey Funeral Home.

He was born in Graham and had been a resident of Monahans since 1967. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was Baptist.

SURVIVORS: Wife, Christine Shoemate of Wickett; son, Richard Lee Shoemate of Lubbock; brother, Richard Shoemate of Graham; and two grandchildren.

Maria Subia

FORT STOCKTON — Maria F. Subia, 91, of Austin, a homemaker, died Thursday, Oct. 12, 2000, in Austin.

Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. today at St. Joseph Chatholic Church. Burial will be at St. Joseph cemetery. Arrangements by Fort Stockton Funeral Home.

She was born in Pecos and had been a resident of Fort Stockton before moving to Austin. She was Catholic.

SURVIVORS: Daughters, Aurora Riojaz of Round Rock, Alicia Castelo of El Paso, Alvina Porras of Odessa and Amelia Casas of Austin; sister, Dominga Subia of Norwalk, Calif.; brothers, Eulalio Fuentes of Reno, Nev., and Refugio Fuentes of Denton; 17 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Benjamin Wallace

SEMINOLE — Benjamin "Pee Wee" Wallace, 88, of Eunice, N.M., a retired employee of the Texas Highway Department, died Friday, Oct. 13, 2000, at his residence.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Charles Hargrove officiating. Burial will be at Gaines County cemetery South. Arrangements by Calvary Funeral Home of Eunice, N.M.

He was born in Munday. He was a member of the Church of Christ.

SURVIVORS: Wife, Sara Wallace of Eunice, N.M.; son, Bill Wallace of Andrews; daughters, Barbara Ward of Hobbs, N.M., and Vicki Ancinec of Plains; stepson, Edwin Johnston of Monument, N.M., stepdaughters, Betty Cummins of Decatur and Gina Pierce of Eunice, N.M.; nine grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Rosa Marquez

BIG SPRING — Rosa Montez Marquez, 84, of Stanton, died Thursday, Oct. 12, 2000, at Scenic Mountain Hospital in Big Spring.

WINTERS — Van K. Bullard, 47, of Baird, a pipe fitter for TIC Construction Co., died Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2000, at a Lubbock hospital.

He was born in Ballinger and had been a resident of Odessa.

James Burns-Burruss

ODESSA — James L. Burns-Burruss, an infant, died Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2000, at Medical Center Hospital.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. today at Sunset Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Dewey Blevins officiating. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

He was born in Odessa.

SURVIVORS: Mother, Jamie Burns of Odessa; father, Roy Burruss of Odessa; brothers, Lee Dylon Nichols and William Christopher Burruss, both of Odessa; grandparents, Ella Sisco, James Harper and Gayle Smith, all of Odessa; and great-grandparents, Ella Murphy of Abilene and Granny Bean of Odessa.

Marie Goble

GLADEWATER — Marie Barnhill Goble, 82, of Abilene, a retired employee of the Odessa American, died Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2000, in Abilene.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Rock Springs cemetery. Arrangements by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Homes.

She was born in Longview and had been a resident of Odessa.

SURVIVORS: Husband, James A. Goble of Abilene; daughter, Darlene West of Abilene; son, James B. Goble of Chula Vista, Calif.; sister, Geraldine Prather of Fort Worth; seven grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
