B.R. ‘Bill’ Emfinger II
ODESSA — B.R. "Bill" Emfinger II, an employee of Delta Tech, died Thursday, Dec. 14, 2000, at his home, 5008 Winchester, after a one-year illness.
He was born July 18, 1953, in Kermit. He attended schools in El Paso and lived and worked in Odessa since 1972.
His father preceded him in death in 1994.
He is survived by one son, Billy R. Emfinger III of Albuquerque, N.M.; and his mother, Della Bishop of Charleston, S.C. Also surviving are two sisters, Vicki Kallestad of Odessa and Melanie Jordan of Charleston; two brothers, W.C. "Corky" Emfinger and Royce Gaskins, both of Charleston; several aunts and uncles; two nieces, Aimee Pond and Kala Kallestad, both of Odessa; a nephew, Coby Pond of Odessa; two nieces and two nephews of Charleston; ex-wife, Lynn Hubanks; her children; and numerous friends.
His remains have been donated to Texas Tech University of Lubbock for research in hemochromatosis and liver disease. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Any memorials should go to Home Hospice of Odessa.
Mary Lee "Billie" Gibson
ODESSA — Mary Lee "Billie" Gibson left this world to join her heavenly father Dec. 15, 2000.
A celebration of her life will be held at 11:00 Monday, Dec. 18, 2000, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jack Watkins officiating and music performed by Kathy Thomason. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Mary was born Dec. 7, 1907, to Jeffrey Calvin and Olive Ophelia Nichols in Comanche County, Texas.
Mary married
Lonnie Lee Gibson on Sept. 12, 1931, in Fredericksburg. He preceded her in death on July 13, 1979.
Her parents; three brothers, Ira, Sam and Jack Nichols; three sisters, Amy Court, Susan and Kate Nichols; and a granddaughter, Joni Michelle Duggen, all preceded her in death.
Mary is survived by her sons, Lonnie Jack Gibson of Odessa and Jimmy Gibson and wife, Connie, of Richardson; daughters, Mary Peitchinsky and husband, Herman, and Johnnie Jones and husband, Gerald, all of Odessa; grandchildren, Kari Taylor and husband, Charlie, of Odessa, Rhonda Corneliussen and husband, Kerry, of Plano, Randy Gibson and wife, Lauren, of Plano, Daniel Warren of Houston, Kim Albritton and husband, Tommy, of Houston, and Bill Warren of Fort Worth; great-grandchildren, Amber and Cortni Lloyd of Odessa, Taylor and Brian Birkey and Garrett Corneliussen, all of Plano, Britni Massey and Kaili Albritton of Houston; one sister, Carrie Nichols of Comanche; and sisters-in-law, Ora Lee Blackwood of Hobbs, NM; Gertie Gatliff of San Saba and Myrl Nichols of Rotan; plus many friends and family whom she dearly loved.
"Nanny," as her grandchildren called her, was her family’s strength and support. She always had a beautiful smile and a tender heart. Her loving understanding and a willing hand will always be cherished by those who knew her and the impact she had on all their lives.
Her family thanks all of those who enriched her life and gave comfort during her illness. May God bless each of you.

Charles Edgar McGuire
ODESSA — Charles Edgar McGuire, 65, passed away Thursday, Dec. 14, 2000, in EI Paso. He was born Nov. 1, 1935, in Chicago, Ill., to C.E. "Mickey" McGuire and Pauline "Polly" McGuire. They moved to Fort Worth where he spent most of his childhood until the family moved to Odessa.
He attended Crockett Junior High and Odessa High School. He was also of member of the OHS band. They returned to Fort Worth, where he graduated from Paskell High School in 1953. He later attended the University of Texas at Austin and Texas Christian University.
Mr. McGuire lived in Los Angeles for 40 years where he was vice president of Allright Parking until his retirement in 1991. He moved to El Paso upon retirement and lived there until his death.
He enjoyed traveling, music, movies and spending time with his dog, Gitanio, and bird, Pepe.
He is survived by his sister, Patti Witt of Odessa; his son, Robert Andrade of El Paso; his honorary sister, Brenda Leonard of Odessa; two nephews, Dee Witt and his wife, Kathy, of Odessa and Charles "Chuck" Witt and his wife, Theresa, and sons, Kyle Witt of Nashville, Tenn., and Caleb Witt of Odessa; two nieces, Paula Williams and husband, Donal, of Carlsbad, N.M., and their children, Kimber, Kris and Katie, and Jimann Mosley and husband, Doug, of Odessa; and many cousins and friends.
Family suggest memorials to American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
A memorial service celebrating his life will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel.

Houston Branam
MONAHANS — Houston Branam of Monahans went to be with our Lord on Friday, Dec. 5. He died at home after a lengthy iIlness. Houston was 68 years old, born in Camp, Ark., on April 28, 1932. At the age of 4, he moved to Crane with his family. The family then moved to Monahans in 1941.
Services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2000, at First Baptist Church of Monahans with the Rev. Gene Tone officiating, assisted by the Rev. Jeff Box.
Houston graduated from Monahans High School in 1951 and served in the Air Force from 1952 until 1956. He married
his high school sweetheart, Sue Zimmerman, on June 14, 1954, at First Baptist Church in Monahans. He began work for Richardson & Bass in 1956, then worked for 30 years for Sinclair Oil & Gas, which evolved into ARCO Oil & Gas. He was retired from ARCO at the time of his death.
Houston was actively involved in the Monahans-Wickett-Pyote lndependent School District. He served on the Monahans-Wickett-Pyote School Board for three years and also served on the Monahans Appraisal District Board of Directors for four years. He loved the Loboes and was a member of the Booster Club for many years. In 1982, Houston was named Booster of the Year.
Houston was a member of First Baptist Church of Monahans for 57 years. He actively supported his church, serving as an usher for many years and as a preschool Sunday school teacher for 15 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Troy and Minnie Branam; and a brother, Curtis.
He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Suzanne Bloodworth and husband, Marly, of Midland and Dianne Solum and husband, Matthew of Spokane, Wash. He is also survived by six grandchildren, Brent Bloodworth of Lubbock, Alaina, Lindsey and Lara Bloodworth of Midland and Kristi and Nicole Solum of Spokane, Wash.; two sisters, Faye Capps of Jal, N.M., and Helen Jordan of Monahans.
Pallbearers will be Gloyd Walsh, Leonard Perryman, Kenneth Reamy, James Ward, Joe Montez, David Cutbirth, Jerry Larned, Connie Bean and Henry Ridings. Honorary pallbearers will be Waylan Martin and current and former Lobo coaches, Larry Hannah, Mickey Mitchell, Doug Roark, Bren Holland, Gary Gaines and Maurice Hodges.
Services will be conducted by Harkey Funeral Home of Monahans.
Ada Lucille (Davis) Lyle
ODESSA — Graveside services for Ada Lucille (Davis) Lyle, 83, of Odessa are scheduled for Friday, Nov. 10, 2000, at Sunset Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Johnny Dickerson officiating.
Mrs. Lyle died Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2000, at Avalon Place. She was born Jan. 20, 1917, in Ripley, Tenn. She married
John Glen Lyle April 20, 1935, in Marion, Ark.
Mrs. Lyle moved to Odessa in 1951 from Sylamore, Ark. She was a member of Crescent Park Baptist Church. She was a retired security guard.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Glen Lyle and a son, John G. Lyle Jr.
Survivors include her sons, Sidney A. Lyle and Jack E. Lyle, both of Odessa, and Robert E. Lyle of Tupelo, Miss.; 13 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Lionel C. "El Colorado" Salazar
ODESSA — Lionel C. "El Colorado" Salazar, 56, of Odessa died Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2000, at Medical Center Hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Martinez Funeral Home Chapel with Paul Smith officiating. Burial will be at Rose Hill cemetery.
He was born May 12, 1944, in Elsa and
had been a resident of Odessa for 50 years. He was a member of the Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife, Elida Salazar of Odessa; mother, Espiria Salazar of Odessa; daughters, Belinda Rodriguez, Angie Salazar, Billie Gutierrez and Betty Deleon, all of Odessa, Diana Lujan, Sandra Baeza, Isabell Acosta and Sopia Alvarez, all of Marfa; sons, Lionel Salazar Jr. and Roy Salazar, both of Albuquerque, N.M., Robert Salazar and Michael Salazar, both of Marfa, Dwight Deleon of Midland and Joe Deleon of Odessa; brothers, John Salazar, Joe Salazar Jr. and David Salazar, all of Odessa; sisters, Irma Salazar, Linda Araiza, Doreen Natividad, Sally Tenorio and Irene Lucero, all of Odessa, and Hilda Tagle of Alice; 48 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Wilma Lee Stovall
ODESSA — Wilma Lee Stovall, 75, of Odessa died Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2000, at her residence. She was born Aug. 10, 1925, in Eastland County to Raymond and Nettie Speegle.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today at Belmont Baptist Church with the Rev. Rex Clayton officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Stovall moved to Odessa in 1951 from Cisco. She was a member of Belmont Baptist Church and retired from Ector County Independent School District after 15 years.
She is survived by her husband, James Stovall of Odessa; daughters, Barbara Martin of Odessa and Jimmy Sue Patterson of Southland; sons, Andy Coats of Lubbock, Randy Coats of Odessa and Ricky Stovall of Shreveport, La.; brother, Bill Speegle of Fort Stockton; sisters, Annie Mae Donaway of Putnam and Barbara Dunaway of Odessa; 14 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
