ODESSA — Services for Lillie Louise Love, 83, of Odessa are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 18, 2000, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church with Father Mark Woodruff officiating. Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today at Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Love died Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2000, at her residence. She was born Feb. 11, 1917, in Ashby. She married
Marshall J. Love Dec. 2, 1943, in Houston. Mrs. Love moved to Odessa in 1950.
She is survived by her husband, Marshall; two sons, Larry Love of Odessa and Eddie Love of Tacoma, Wash.; two daughters, Marsha O’Flaherty of Corinth and Christine Leckbee of Odessa; 20 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Jo Metzler of Houston, Lupe DeCuir of San Marcos and Bettie Wooten of Manvel.

Nila Maynard
ODESSA — Services for Nila Maynard, 86, of Odessa are scheduled for 2 p.m. today, Nov. 15, 2000, at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Rex Clayton officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Maynard died Monday, Nov. 13, 2000, at Avalon Place. She was born Sept. 12, 1914, in Lueders. She married
Linton Carl Maynard on May 13, 1931, in Waurika, Okla. He died in 1989.
Mrs. Maynard moved to Odessa in 1955 from Buras, La. She was a homemaker and a past worthy matron of the Eastern Star. She was a member of Belmont Baptist Church.
Survivors include her sons, Charles Maynard of Fairfield, Calif., Carlton Ray Maynard and Jack Maynard, both of Odessa, and Kenneth Maynard of Marble Falls; daughters, Linda M. Harris of Odessa and Joyce Seymour of Boise, Idaho; sister, Dovie Absher of Peaster; 16 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Don McCartney
MIDLAND — Donald Ray McCartney died Sunday, Nov. 12, 2000, at a local hospital.
Funeral services have been scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 17, 2000, at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church with the Rev. Richard Edwards officiating. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park under the direction of Ellis Funeral Home.
Don McCartney was born May 17, 1935, in Wilburton, Okla., to Charles Irvin and Velva McCartney. He graduated from Wilburton High School and Oklahoma City University. Don served in the United States Army in the Korean Conflict and the South Pacific. He attained his master’s degree from the University of Oklahoma.
On May 27, 1961, he married
Genie Long in Oklahoma City, Okla. He was the choir director at Midland High School until his retirement. He was also the choir director at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church and executive director of the Alamo YMCA. His memberships included St. Luke’s United Methodist Church RSVP (Retired Senior Volunteer Program), Retired Texas Teacher of the Year, Phi Mu-Alpha Sinforia Fraternity, Blue Key National Honorary Leadership and Scholastic Fraternity Pi Kappa Lambda, Lifetime Member of the National Honor Society, Lifetime Member of the PTA and American Red Cross Volunteer.
Don was preceded in death by his father, C.I. McCartney; and one brother, Les McCartney.
He is survived by his wife, Genie McCartney of Midland; his two sons, David McCartney and his wife, Jennifer, of Midland and Brent McCartney of Bedford; his mother, Velva McCartney of Oklahoma City; his sister, Mary Ellen Benson and her husband, Theo, of Midwest City, Okla.; and his two grandsons, Ian Noble McCartney and Tyler Aidan McCartney.

Winnie Mae Weathersby Smith
ODESSA — Graveside services for Winnie Mae Weathersby Smith, 87, of Odessa will be held at 2 p.m. today, Nov. 15, 2000, at Sunset Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Owen Sharp of Community Care Hospice officiating.
Mrs. Smith died Sunday evening, Nov. 12, 2000, at her home. She was born March 23, 1913, to Charles and Laura (Tidmore) Weathersby in May.
Winnie married
John A. Smith April 17, 1935, in Odessa. She is of the Baptist faith.
Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husband John in March 1999. Her parents, two brothers, Altus and Herman Weathersby, and a sister, Zelma Hurley, also preceded her in death.
Survivors include her daughter, Patricia and son-in-law, Larry Cauthen, of Odessa; two granddaughters, Deborah Furie and Sandra Koenig; nine great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandsons, all of Grass Valley, Calif. She is also survived by a brother, Hugh Weathersby; and three sisters, Opal Silhavy, Ruth Gober and Faye Murphy, all of Odessa.

Audrey Faye McAnally
ODESSA — Services for Audrey Faye McAnally, 70, of Odessa, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday at Hubbard-Kelly Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Ernest Easley officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. McAnally died Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2000, at Medical Center Hospital. She was born Jan. 13, 1930, in Oklahoma City.
Mrs. McAnally moved to Odessa in 1973 from Oklahoma City. She was a homemaker and a Baptist.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Willie Newby; parents, Arthur and Zola Mae Rimer; brother, Cecil Rimer; and grandson, Wade Newby.
Survivors include her sons, James Newby, Ron Newby and Jeff Newby, all of Odessa; daughters, Sherri Guiter, Peggy Grooms and Tammy Decker, all of Odessa; brothers, Glen Rimer, Larry Rimer and Donald Rimer, all of Odessa, Wayne Rimer of Chickasha, Okla., and Terry Rimer of Bryan; sisters, Wanda Lawson of Coleman, Dolores Hennick and Janet Danner, both of Odessa; 15 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Clint R. "Pete" Pool, Sr.
ODESSA — Clint R. "Pete" Pool, Sr., 69, of Odessa went to be with the Lord Thursday, Oct. 19, 2000, at Medical Center Hospital.
Pete was born Dec. 27, 1930, in Rusk County to Curtis and Leadell Pool. He married
Edna McBeth on June 5, 1953, in Lovington, N.M. Pete never met a stranger. He was a member of the Bluegrass Association of West Texas and played in the Bluegrass Band "Sundown." He loved riding horses and loved all animals. He was loved by many.
He is survived by his wife, Edna; daughters, Linda Pool, Brenda Terry and Darla Townsend and husband Paul; son, Clint "Petey" Pool and wife Kay; grandchildren, Kasey Townsend, Caitlin and Kalie Pool, all of Odessa; step-mother, Mabel Pool of Henderson; sister, Nadine Collard and husband Jack of Longview; "adopted daughter," Joy Bishop and husband Rick of Odessa; cousins, Jimmy Thrash and wife Cindy, Bob Thrash and wife JoAnn, Earl Maxwell and Imogene Haupt; and numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
The family will be receiving visitors from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. today at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Northside Baptist Church with the Rev. Clydel Chapman officiating and burial at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Joyce Johnson Springer
ANDREWS — Funeral services for Joyce Johnson Springer, 74, of Odessa will be at 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 21, 2000, at McNett Funeral Home Chapel in Andrews with the Rev. Bob Zap, retired, of Andrews officiating. Burial will be at the Andrews West cemetery under the direction of McNett Funeral Home of Andrews.
She died Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2000, at her residence in Odessa.
She was born Dec. 13, 1925, in Clifton. She married
Jake Springer on Dec. 14, 1946, in Breckenridge. They moved to Andrews in 1966. She worked as a secretary and cashier for Anthony’s Department Store in Andrews from 1966 to 1983. She moved to Odessa in 1991. She was a member of the VFW Lodge #4372 in Odessa and Andrews Presbyterian Church.
Her husband preceded her in death March 4, 1990. She was also preceded in death by her parents, John and Alma Johnson and her two brothers, Bobby and John Johnson, Jr.
She is survived by her two daughters, Donna Springer and Janna Kuhlmann, both of Odessa, and her two grandsons, Joe and Jayson Dorman of Odessa.

Edgar C. Swan
MONAHANS — Edgar C. Swan, a resident of Monahans for 30 years, died Thursday, Oct. 19, 2000, at Medical Center Hospital.
Mr. Swan was born Jan. 18, 1922, to Chancy Swan and Lucy Turner Swan in Cleveland, Okla. He married
Betty Echols on Sept. 15, 1945, and served in the South Pacific during World War II as an Army medic. He was an active member of the Genealogy Society, First United Methodist Church for 35 years and served the community delivering Meals on Wheels.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Swan of Monahans; sons, Dale Swan of Amarillo and Jay Swan of Princeton; daughters, Janie Lee of Galveston, Anna Hoyer of Wichita Falls and Teresa Wagner of Austin; and 10 grandchildren.
Services are scheduled for 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 21, 2000, at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Stephen Swisher officiating. Arrangements by Harkey Funeral Home.

ODESSA — Felipe S. Carrasco, 84, of Odessa, a retired farmer, died Thursday, Nov. 30, 2000, at his residence.
Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Rev. Gilbert Rodriguez officiating. Rosary will be said at 6 p.m. Sunday at Martinez Funeral Home. Burial will be at Rose Hill cemetery. Arrangements by Martinez Funeral Home.
He was born in Ruidosa and had been a resident of Odessa since 1989. He was Catholic.
