Della Goats

MONAHANS — Della Christine Goats, 85, of Monahans, a retired nurses’ aide, died Thursday, Nov. 2, 2000, at Ward Memorial Hospital in Monahans.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. today at Monahans Memorial cemetery with the Rev. Stephen Swisher officiating. Arrangements by Harkey Funeral Home.

She was born in Hill County and had been a resident of Monahans since 1958. She was Methodist.

SURVIVORS: Son, Loyd E. Goats of Loyal, Okla.; sister, Willie Burford of Hereford; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

John Massingill

SEMINOLE — John Edward Massingill, 89, of Jacksonville, N.C., a retired superintendent for Mobil Oil Co., died Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2000, at his residence.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Darrell Evens officiating. Burial will follow at the Gaines County cemetery South. Arrangements by Boyer Funeral Home.

He was born in Diboll and had been a resident of Seminole before moving to Jacksonville in 1994. He was Methodist.

SURVIVORS: Son, Tom Massingill of Jacksonville; sisters, Winnie Racheal Massingill of Porter and LaNetta Dossey of Teague; and two grandchildren.

Chester Stephens

ODESSA — Chester Conway Stephens, 87, of Odessa, retired owner of Stephens Cleaners, died Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2000, at Medical Center Hospital.

Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.

He was born in Paris, Texas. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was Baptist.

SURVIVORS: Wife, Annadell Stephens of Odessa; daughter, Connie Long of Aztec, N.M.; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Mary McCullough

SEMINOLE — Mary Lee McCullough, 85, of Seminole, a homemaker, died Friday, Nov. 3, 2000, at Memorial Hospital in Seminole.

Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. today at the Gaines County cemetery with Heath Blackmon officiating. Arrangements by Boyer Funeral Home.

She was born in Lincoln, N.M., and had been a resident of Seagraves before moving to Seminole in 1956. She was a member of the Church of Christ.

SURVIVORS: Sons, Dean McCullough of Lubbock, Joe McCullough of Abilene, Gail McCullough of Andrews and Tim McCullough of Tioga; daughter, Ann Thornton of Andrews; brother, Johnny Cabe of Tucumcari, N.M.; 20 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.

Ysmael Ruiz

ODESSA — Ysmael M. Ruiz, 70, of Odessa, a retired machinist, died Thursday, Nov. 2, 2000, at Medical Center Hospital.

Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at Our Lady of San Juan Catholic Church with the Rev. Mark Woodruff officiating. Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Sunday at Sunset Memorial Funeral Chapel. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.

He was born in Colonia Esperanza, Mexico, and moved to Odessa from Pecos in 1969. He was Catholic.

SURVIVORS: Wife, Santos Ruiz of Odessa; sons, Javier Ruiz and Jose M. Ruiz, both of Odessa; daughters, Graciela Evaro and Julia Ruiz, both of Odessa, Marta A. Lujan of Arlington and Leticia Lucio of Midlothian; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Lula Samples

PECOS — Lula Mae Samples, 92, of Pecos, a retired employee of Texas-Pacific Railroad, died Friday, Nov. 3, 2000, at Pecos Nursing Home.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Pecos Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Bruce Abbott and Joe Terry officiating. Burial will be Wednesday at Cedar Hill cemetery in Fort Worth. Arrangements by Pecos Funeral Home.

She was born in Anderson. She was Methodist.

SURVIVORS: Daughter, Daisy Roquemore of Pecos; sister, Billie Sadler of Pecos; three grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Phillip Gomes

STANTON — Phillip Charles Gomes, 68, of Stanton died Friday, Nov. 3, 2000, at his residence.

Services are pending with Stanton Memorial Funeral Home and Chapel.

Laura Harrell

ODESSA — Laura Michelle Harrell, 24, of Odessa died Thursday, Nov. 2, 2000, at Medical Center Hospital.

Manuela Serrano

ODESSA — Manuela Melchor Serrano, 75, of Odessa died Thursday, Nov. 2, 2000, in Odessa.

Services are pending with Odessa Funeral Home.

J.C. Anderson

ODESSA — J.C. Anderson, 76, of Odessa, a retired janitor, died Monday, Nov. 27, 2000, at Medical Center Hospital.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Martinez Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. William Tatum officiating. Burial will be at Ector County cemetery. Arrangements are by Martinez Funeral Home.

He was born in Hartlett and had been a resident of Odessa for 60 years.

SURVIVORS: Sons, John C. Anderson and T.J. Anderson, both of Odessa; daughters, Dorothy Wilson of San Antonio, Vickie Anderson of Austin, Sandra Anderson of Odessa and Georgia Evans of Houston; sister, Zelma Burleson of San Antonio; 16 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

Edward Holdridge

ODESSA — Edward B. Holdridge, 87, of Odessa, a retired employee of KOBE Oilfield Co., died Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2000, at his residence.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors Chapel with the Rev. Tom Hiser officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are by Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.

He was born in Holt, Okla., and moved to Odessa in 1946. He was Baptist.

SURVIVORS: Wife, Maurine Holdridge of Odessa; sons, William A. Holdridge and David E. Holdridge, both of Odessa; and five grandchildren.

ODESSA — Willie Mate Jones, 72, of Odessa, a retired employee of Tri West Co., died Monday, Nov. 27, 2000, in Odessa.

He was born in Calvert. He was Baptist.

KINGSLAND — E.S. "Ike" Kenner, 79, of Granite Shoals, a retired investment business owner, died Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2000, at Scott White Hospital in Temple.

Services were at 2:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 24, 2000, at Waldrope-Hatfield-Hawthorne Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jack Whyburn officiating. Burial was at Round Mountain cemetery in Round Mountain. Arrangements by Waldrope-Hatfield-Hawthorne Funeral Home.

He was born in Crowell and had been a resident of Odessa. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was Methodist.
