STANTON — John H. Burton, 87, of Midland, a retired employee of the Midland Independent School District, died Thursday, March 22, 2001, at a local hospital.

He was born in Hand County, S.D., and was a longtime resident of Midland. He was an Army veteran of World War II.

He was born in Quezion City, Philippines, and moved to Odessa in 1975 from Little Rock, Ark. He was Catholic.
